You can google 'subliminals' for more info but basically, the affirmations are at a lower volume so that they can be heard by your subconscious mind while bypassing your ego/logical mind. The idea is to impress the affirmations into your subconscious without the resistance you might otherwise experience if you could hear them and think about what your are hearing.
