with the MSI GTX 960 gaming 2G I got it to be 108% power(only needs up to about 102%) +150 to the core clock and +175 to the memory clock and it runs at about 60 degrees having the dual fans running at 42% speed(which is not too loud in my opinion) it give me an improvement of about 6.5 Fps and 159 improvement on the score using the benchmark.

+Tim lundberg It might work but it could also differe due to an higher ammount of vram the power needed to reach the overclock might be higher you have to try to know it.
+Bobpiton90 I got +147 on the core clock and +176 on the memory clock on my msi 960 4G and got 7-8fps improvement with an average fps on sniper elite v2 of 53.7
I got one with 4gb I only need 97% max. +250 core clock and +400 on memory. 62 degrees with 37 percent of fanspeed.

I overclocked my decade-old Zotac GTX 960 today and managed to get 1450 mHz core clock (up from about 1270 stock) and a whopping 3800 mHz memory clock (up from around 3600 stock). Easily up to 20% more performance, which brings an actual increase in responsiveness of the game! I just didn't know how to do it back when it was in my main rig. Just ended up here to see what other people were able to get out of their cards.

helps a lot in new titles (@Jizzy J - It;'s not 3 fps, more like 10 which is well worth it)
oh and temp below 70 even after long gaming sessions
I cannot get the memory 300, Unigine doesn't crash or anything but AC Odyssey does whenever the action heats up, I wouldn't recommend it. 200ish seems stable, I also get unstable FPS on anything above 180 on the core clock.

I got 1482 GPU 3610 Mem at a max of 52DegC with no voltage boost on a EVGA GTX 960 SC (not SSC, just SC). Stable in every game I tried. Any higher and I would get little artifacts. The funny thing is, there's a few little glitches in the Heaven benchmark. I thought they were from my overclock so I kept second guessing my numbers until I watched this and saw the same glitches in your video.
I got 1443MHz on GPU and 3500MHz Mem on my GALAX without overclock, I think I don't need to do anything kkkkk
hey.. so i have the 960 evga SSC version, where it comes factory overclocked, i was wondering is it still a good idea to OC my GPU? Since it already come factory OC? Will it be okay if i still OC it? And if i do OC my GPU, should i really mess with the voltage? Can i still OC my GPU with out increasing the Voltage?

Hey man, in the power monitor I have like downspikes, its running stable at 88-90 and then it drops to 50 and once again stable at 88-90, does this means i have to lower stuff down? Thanks, great video
EDIT: I noticed this happens when in the benchmark app the fps drops to less than usual (eg, its running at 80 fps and it drops to 40) or it switches scenary, is there any problem? Or this is making that? thanks
what if during specific scenes of the bench, it freezes momentarily. My has been doing that and I get a system message that my driver crashed and recovered itself?

i got GPU up to +100 and the memory up to +600 with av 110% power boost. Now that I just got a new i5 6600k OC to 4.6ghz I'm going to see if i can go higher!
Why did you not use GPU tweak?
My GPU temp rises up to 70 celsius at about +60-70 core clock and fan speed rises up to 80 or more (auto) and CPU temp is about 60? is this okay?

I dont really get it how do you balance between Core clock and Memory clock? If something start to goes wrong, do I decrease the core clock or the memory clock?

I have an EVGA 960 4Gb FTW.. Used afterburner and has no chance to up the voltage.. but evgas Presicion X does allow overvoltage.. is it real overvoltage or what? Havn't found anything on overvoltage for the 960 tho..
Idk why the 960 is overlooked, for it's price it was the best card since 2015 and even today, it's cheap and can fucking play any modern game maxed out at 40-50 fps and pre 2015 games at 60fps easy and with an overclock I could run farcry 4 and ac syndicate at 60 fps ultra 1080p but not the rx480 is better if you can spend a little more if not 960 it is!

Brandon Molzhon it will be a considerable improvement but sli gives you a lot of problems with games, some games just don't want to use it while some run flawlessly anyways you should be good.. and hope you got the 4 gb ones? If not it's fine but games which will come out in the near future will need a lot of vram.. ex- syndicate cab run easily at 60 fps with two cards but with 2 gb vram you will get 3-4 fps maxed out as it requires like 4 GB

so it got here a while ago, and the only game so far that doesn't really cooperate with it is rainbow six siege. but everything else is working perfectly. just have to set siege to medium, which I read a lot of people do anyways
my power usage is at 95% when at extra 100mhz core and 10mhz mem should i stop or just give it more power
My 960 EXOC without overclock stay on 1443MHz, it is a TechLab Edition and I think they were only sold here in Brazil.

noob question. do you have to have MSI afterburner open everytime you want to play a game with your overclock enabled? or is the overclock automatically enabled when you start up your computer

What do you mean by unstable (at 8:04)? Was the framerate unstable or was there artefacts?

@@Zuma4Life same card here. I got 4050mhz on the ram. the core can do 1531.5 but starts artifacting at 1493.5, so i keep it at 1480mhz @1.275V (u can go up to 1.281, not any further and it will still show up as 1.275v so dont worry, you cant kill anything)

@@Zuma4Life I rebenched for you with unigine heaven 4 @ dx11, high, dis, dis, dis, off, full-screen, 1080p. stock: 1655, oc: 1823 - so it's a gain of 10% for free. it translates to games pretty much the same. (at my max settings i get 1871 so that would be 13% but shadows that randomly pop out and textures not beeing rendered correctly here and there is just not worth it) oh and dont forget to set the power limit to max, it cant go past 16% or so. the memory seems to need it

EDIT: thank you i did my OC now like you my cards runs now at 1.494 mhz ^^ and memory is 1.853^^ very nice got a FPS + of 5 ^^ so my average fps in bf is now a bit over 60 frames ^^

i kept overclocking my core clock untill about +240. I didnt notice any artefacts but my pc froze. Luckily it unffroze again and a message about my drivers popped up. I immediately took it back down to +155. Should i go any higher? I have a 960 4GB

keep it at 155 maybe try it to 180 max ...but try at least 2 times full benchmarks and see result , cause it can be your edge of stablility

u should let core clock bellow 200 and u can increase memclock
how would a manufacturer know if you have overclocked a card? can't you just say it has never been oc'd and it is a faulty card?

The STRIXes aren't as good as they seem. It's Asus' gimmick. I've stuck with Gigabyte and never been happier.

hey so i'm new to this I got +180 core clock +100 memory clock Ithe highest I got was 79% power, my gpu drivers crashed at 220 core clock but is a +100 memory clock all I need?
You cant take it high as you want if it crashes take it down 20 or 30MHz...

Got a Gigabyte Windforce oc edition 4gb i stop at 160 core clock and 130 memory clock my question is when i was testing with 3dMark at 180/140 there were no artifact but the test stop a little bit before the end but continue with the other test that didn't crash so is it because of the overclock or did it crash because i dind't boost the power enough ?

In some cases, some motherboards are not capable of overclocking, meaning you can't overclock your gpu or cpu. Might be your problem
Can somone compair results with me, I got +157 core and +297 on memory. Is this normal ? it seems extremely high to me. Did I get a good card ?

+Zezro stable ? + 1000 is a lot. I settled on +135 core and +400 memory clock. With the 960 raising the memory is more beneficial than core. If I don't touch memory, I can take my core up to around +160.
I got my core to 200 and memory to 375 using NZXT's overclocking software but I've yet to test it out while gaming!!
+Sebastian Russo if u have a 960, u might want to push ur mem clk a bit higher. u will probably have more drop core clk a bottl compensate. I get better frames in benchmarks w/ mem.

You can't. You are using a laptop. They are too small to cool down on standard clocks so it would be dangerous to do it

jan raleigh Graphs will always fluctuate because how much is demanded from your GPU can vary, even within the same game. A stable overclock means that your overclock runs smoothly and doesn't cause crashes or any other errors.
MSI`s gaming app has e feature called "OC mode". Does this do the same as this?
No it does not and that app only works for Msi cards refreashed...

+mr.danon Well, if the guy have some intel cpu it could eat up to 80W (i3 i5), if he has one ssd and one normal drive, that is another 50. GC eats about 150. So, he surely has some space for some oc, if PSU is a decent model with high effectiveness like Seasonic. Worst from bronse, best in platinum I think.
