  • Michael Pearl answers a question from a viewer: I watched a UA-cam video about a man who had a near death experience, and saw lukewarm Christians who went to hell for their sins that they had not repented of. They said it was due to not abandoning willful sin. What do you say about this idea?

He was probably in hell as well which is why he could see others (like him) going to hell. I think we should quote Matthew 7:5 when responding to that person, "first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." 😇

Well faith is believing the word whether you're sinning or not. The problem is people don't seem to think the bible actually happened in reality and applies to their world today. The inferences to biblical history and connections and prophesy is too big to ignore. If we used scientific method on biblical prophesy we would prove that God is 100% real and the experiment would be repeatable and find the same results every time. The Word being the independent variable and the reality/history being the dependent variable.

    Were they not saved?

So if we are saved by grace and sealed with the holy Spirit explain how we can (somehow) depart? Read the right dispensation and how NOTHING can separate up from the love of God who is in Christ Jesus. Also, please listen to yourself when you speak, because your understanding on these passages say we have WORKS associated with our eternity in the Body of Christ and what I know on this is that Christ knows who are his and he cannot deny himself...even if we fall away from our faith or get mislead by the devil into wrong doctrine.
Do you hold to us all replacing Isreal or do you hold the the New Creature in Christ preached by the apostle Paul when it was revealed to him and only him (never before prophesied) or do you disregard the MANY passages in the Epistles written by Paul...btw MOST people do not believe Paul wrote Hebrews...that book would place us under the Law even if you cannot see that.

You shouldn’t be worrying. If you have known sin that you refuse to repent of that proves unrepentance. Repentance unto good works and good fruit accompany salvation. Todays gospel lacks the need for repentance. It’s not optional. God gives peace and perfect peace when the souls truly repents of all known sin and His love fuels the soul with joy. Either worry or peace. Fruit to root. Up your expectations towards repentance. Give no room to make excuses that it’s ok to not repent of something you know is wrong.

We hold onto the faith, not to the law, for salvation. If Jesus died for your sins, He died for every one of them because He took on the full wrath of the law on the cross (Galatians 3:13). So, if one believes fornication sends you to hell, that means Jesus cannot cover that sin. It means avoiding fornication saves you.

So, repenting of our sins to God is critical for receiving forgiveness for them otherwise everyone on earth would be saved if they didn’t need to repent and choose to turn to Christ for their salvation.

Yes Jesus died for all sin His sacrifice and blood in an atonement for ALL sin. Jesus knew the sin He was dying for, He saw men would be child molesters as He carried that cross and He still kept going. Jesus didn't say Oh wait some of these sins are too disgusting for me to carry, I can't forgive that let Me get on outta here... but No Jesus knew every hidden sin and died was buried and rose for Justification for All sin. Lust, divorce, murder, people having sex with dolls and objects, the nastiest sins you can think of Jesus died for it all. Avoiding these things doesn't get you saved believing in the sacrifice and the Blood of Jesus is your saving Grace. God knows we're gonna have struggles But we have been justified by Blood, washed. The thought of Lord Jesus saying he never knew me is the worst regret anyone could hear .
Irreversible / done deal . Torment for eternity .
I believe all of Lord Jesus words , teaching and instructions are perfectly just and fair and true .
( of course ) . I’m sick and tired of my willful sins .
I think I know what the fear of God is ! There’s a
Difference between unintentional sin and willful /
deliberate sin .Be aware of both (from experience)
Bible says , God doesn’t strive with man forever .
Lord Jesus says He will never forsake us , but we can forsake ourselves and lose our salvation that’s
Been provided . We shouldn’t take salvation for granted . We should obey and repent of our unintentional sins as they occur . Willful sin has to stop if we’re honest . Race the good race . It’s a matter of true love for our God ,( Father ), or not .
True love for our Lord Jesus who suffered and died for our sins to be forgiven . ( paid for, for our sake ) . ( I’m thankful )
“ all my own opinion “. ( Bible scripture influenced )
Thank you . And God Bless .

I was SO glad i read it! It's been pivotal in our parenting and we get comments ALL THE TIME about how well-behaved our children are as a result!

I think the question was that if a someone got "saved" one day and continued to be a fornicator, adulterer, murderer, et al, will that person go to heaven. The confusing thing about something like this is the understanding of the word "faith." Jesus Christ didn't die so we could get a free out jail card to live as the people in the world do. Whenever the words being in Christ were mentioned, it was followed by being a new creature. Nowhere in the Bible does it ever state that heaven is for those who are no different from pagans.

    • @josiahjones5293

Yes,and on the flip side of that it's not anything that you do or don't do(except rejecting Jesus) that will keep you out if heaven, however whatever rewards you may have had will be less or more no idea what could be more rewarding than leaving earth but it's probably spectacular, the reason it's easy you see it like this is because we see life in a linear way,it's one continuous line to an end,God sees your life in every possible choice you could ever make every deed you will ever do,and STILL will choose to forgive everything from before and after,to God time is being created and ended.

The idea that you think a saved individual wouldn’t fall to those sins is a clear indication that you think being saved means perfection! Which it does not. Although one may be fornicsting after being saved, it’s the intentions that person has that determines their salvation. A fornicator that repents and wants to not be a fornicator is completely different than a fornicator that doesn’t care what god says about it

Willful deed that is a sin (but unaware that it is) or willful deed you know is a sin & you do it anyway ?
You see,in self pity we tend to do things we know better than to do.
Low self esteem or misled in doctrine will give a foothold for bondage where we feel "it's stronger than me" since JESUS promise that the Truth will set you free. The Truth has that power.
MOSTELY we tend to do things we think are sin but are not but we think it was...this brings bondage because we think e.g. injuring an assailant in self defense that the self defense "is no excuse" (which many know is a lie) repression of something OK (meaning not a sin) may be root of voluntary sin either by "we did it thinking is a sin"& tempting GOD or we know it's a sin in itself but do it anyway which the latter(who think such is a sin & isn't) tend to do later do which is a sin knowing it's a sin.
THE QUESTION IS : where am I mistaken my theology & doctrinal formation ? PRIMARILY our virtue of holiness 1st but most christian want the Path to improve them in secular potential of "positive thinking" among other factors.

I love your wisdom and really you go a great job overall, brother.
I have to say though that I really would recommend no one talks to Satan...handing them over is basically how God describes
giving people over to their lusts for the degrading of their bodies with one another in romans 1 except this is the believer version.
The church is essentially to let them go their own way because as Jesus prescribed if at three rebukes they don't listen, cast them out and consider them as a gentile or taxcollector.
I don't think you can find anywhere believers are to converse with Satan in such a manner. That's an interpretation.
Only time we are to talk any where near the direction of Satan is to call out lies, proclaim Scripture as Jesus answered Satan in the desert to thwart those lies, or to cast out demons.

If your Not reading your bible and praying everyday. Your in trouble. You have to stay away from things of the flesh like R rated movies with sex and language and even TV today takes the Lords name in vain. It’s Not easy You have to dedicate yourself to Christ. You have to live and Love God. I know. I was saved when I was young and never consistently read my bible and prayed. I ended up walking away from the Lord. In got in to very bad sins that I am ashamed of and still never forgive myself for. But Jesus did. I walk with him everyday now. I read my bible everyday and pray with him as much as I can. I Love him and he Loves me. If I stayed on my course I would have burned in hell. But the good shepherd found me and took me back. I will Never stray or leave him again. Amen

I am happy to hear your story, and many things you say are true. However, if you claim to read the Bible so much, shouldn’t you understand that salvation has nothing to do with reading your Bible or not watching bad movies? Those are good things, but they will not save you. That is a works based faith. If it is by grace, it cannot also be of works. If it is by works, than it is not of grace.

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

so my question does become this. I was baptized catholic at idk 6 or 7. I didnt like it. didnt like religion at all. I blasphemy God, even denied who Christ was, tho I believed he was a real person. at 16 I attempted suicide by jumping in front of a car and after that I just got worse. lied, stole, murdered in my heart, committed major adultry and still to this day have a problem with pornography, iv dishonored at least in my eyes my father and mother. however about a month ago and I thank my mom for this iv come back around to God and Christ. I want to be filled with the holy spirit and walk with him and be in his palace. I do truely, truely belive in Him and won't deny him again in my life ever again. now I have no idea if I'm saved or should I be rebaptized? was I even saved when I was baptized before? And my second biggest question is the Sabbath. If Sabbath has been and will always be saturday then why is there so much worship on Sunday? Devil is in the details and History is filled with it.

Hebrews 10:17….”this is what the Holy Spirit says concerning the New Covenant - that their sins and lawless acts, I will remember no more, and where these HAVE been forgiven, there is no more sacrifice for sin.” Then, 9 verses later it says if you willfully sin, there is no more sacrifice but only Gods fiery judgement. If he remembers our sin no more, what’s he talking about? Read the rest of Hebrews and you get the picture….they were trying to turn back to the sacrificial system of the old covenant (which was done away with by Christ)….he’s saying if you deliberately sin against the knowledge of the truth - refusing Christ’s sacrifice in favor of the old system - there is nothing to go back to, so you’re facing God’s judgement. The sin here is deliberate unbelief in the face of the clear evidence of the superiority, completeness, and finality of Christ’s act on the cross. It took away all of mankind’s sin from the eyes of God forever…something that the sacrifice of bulls and goats could never do….and when you reject him, you’re treating his blood as a common thing (no better than bulls and goats) and insult the spirit of grace. It’s not talking about individual sins. All the sins we commit are deliberate…you don’t accidentally sin. We are all guilty of deliberate sin, hence why the only remedy for sin was nothing less than the death of God himself (and resurrection) The great news is “God was in Christ Jesus, reconciling the whole world unto himself, no longer counting their sins against them.” By the way, in chapter 6, he’s saying if you’re not convinced of the truth knowing all this, you’ll never be brought to repentance (Mentanoia - changing your mind) in other words….if you’re not convinced, you never will be.

The Lord Jesus said twice in The Gospel According to Luke, But unless you repent you too will all perish.
Repentance is not optional, it is mandatory from The Word of The Son of God.
How to repent through The Words of The Lord Jesus?
The Lord Jesus said , Neither do I condemn you, Go now and leave your life of sin.

The Lord Jesus said, Whom The Son sets free is free indeed.

Almost 4 years ago today I became a widow at the young age of 64. I think it was still young. It was the midst of COVID so I was on admin.leave. The months to follow turned into struggles that I had never had to experienced alone. Hurricane, new roof, broken trees needed to be cut professional, water leak from a stupid vinyl hose from toilet to wall..? Come On Now! What next? I realized the upkeep that is required for my wee bitty lot in the city was quite an undertake. I had put in a retirement day at work for June age 65 '2021. I am calmed down now not trying to send a plea of a silly girl. Only wanted to say WISH I could have had the opportunity to give you a listen back then. If you are LUKEWARM, God said He’d spue you out. REVELATION 3: 15-16. You are not a True Christian if you say sin is ok. You are a false prophet. NO sin will inherit the kingdom of heaven. If you die in sin, you will go to hell. If God knew who was going to be saved and who wasn’t, why are there preachers? He said it’s not His will that any should perish but that all should come unto repentance. When you get saved, the Holy Spirit moves in and He lets you know what is right and wrong. God will not let you by with sin. In Romans 6 it says that “the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ out Lord”. We CAN be FREE from sin. It you are not FREE from sin you are of the devil. He that commits sin is of the devil, in 1 John. Repent! because you make it sound like it’s ok to sin. God is NOT pleased. Sin is of the devil and if you die with sin in your life, you will go to hell. You CAN be FREE from sin. ROMANS 6. Repent or perish!

So... I'm not sure if this is the fault of the guy who titled this video or what. But brother Mike here at about 6:00 in seems to agree that so-called Christians who sin willfully actually do go to hell. Because, I guess he believes to sin willfully is to necessarily sin consciously. Though brother Mike already shows he believes Christians can have unconscious sins; brother Mike shows he believes that unconscious sinning is what? Cute? I probably disagree with him on whether or not all sins are willful or not, since he seems to conflate "what is willfull" with what is conscious. But God says the Law is summed up in Loving Him, Loving Neighbor, and Loving Self. So, how are we taking those simple 3 commandments seriously, if Jesus is our Lord? To sin is to violate properly loving God, Neighbor or Self. My point is you find sin by taking how you love God, Neighbor and Self seriously!

"If you walk in darkness and call yourself a believer then you are a lier."
Sinning and willful sinning isn't the same thing.
Watching pornography sneaking around to not get caught is willful sinning. You are living in darkness.
The dangerous part isn't necessarily only the watching of pornography but also others telling that person it's ok you're covered by grace.
Also the scripture about the young man sleeping with his step mother, the church want upset about it. They allowed him to be in their presence without discipline.
Paul scolded the church and said because you failed to act I'll do it myself.
Delivery to Satan didn't mean to be put to death either. It could be to struck him with illness which he would hopefully lead to repentance. In that context if he never repented and continued in sin would he be saved. Would he be called a lier because he was walking in darkness?
    Was he in willful sin?
It's crazy to think that we have to repent for every sin we had committed in the past. Sucks to be a 90 year old born again.
It also sucks to believe that one can live a double life with two wives and still think you're still in the faith.
What does "in the faith even mean" just believe in Jesus and that you're saved? Even the demons believed in Jesus.
    What does believe mean?
Jesus said if you love me then keep my commandments.
Finally, I already asked this question but is sin the same thing as willfully sin?
