@Hyakuuu ••• Damian was trained by the same guy that trained Batman, and he went through all of the League's philosophy and combat tactics, even deeper than Bruce did. Don't forget he was also trained by his mother (who is also an Al Ghul). Damian has everything to fight Batman, he was built to be another Batman from the ghetto, but combat experience is why Batman wins the fight.
Damian was stronger when he was younger. He is out of his prime real quick.

Let’s be honest. They put the scene of Bruce disowning and beating Damians ass just so the fans who hated him felt bad after the heartfelt speech he gave Bruce after sacrificing his life to save him.

Like there was one clip where raven was just trying to have a nice conversion with him and he just killed it with his bad attitude, he usually make the atomsphere awkard when the writers intent was for him to be a badass. Literally all the teen titans had a far worse backstory and he is the one that is edgy? Sure he like connected to league of assassins but that nothing in comparsion to the others. His character lack depth for him to be that way.
Considering the usual power of the Omega beams in cannon, Damian had some really impressive plot armor to keep him alive long enough to get off a final speech.
I'm sure Darkseid just set the beams to "extra crispy" instead of vaporize.

Despite their rocky relationship in the past, Bruce truly did love Damian as his son. And it's powerful scene where he sheds tears for his lost.
The Damian Wayne from this universe is a type of Robin Batman and I can be proud of. Sacrificing his life to save Batman and even tough it broke Batman this could be something that he can be proud of Damian
