I'm a Japanese and I can give you an answer for you and this game It's about a comedy action gore and ISEKAI game and in the game is super focused on American stereotype how Japanese view American in early 80's to 90's and fictionalize everything. In the game it's about a mix between everything of what was made the pop culture and nostalgia, and the creation of video game makes between Tarantino movie and Sam Remi movie, which is meant to be a mix between kill bill and evil dead in the isekai alternative world referencing between old anime and manga and video game and movie, and the game can be a mix between dead rising ,devil may cry ,fallout. It's a pure action, comedy and fun game ever made.
In the 80's, Japan's economy was 2nd to USA much like China right now, and US fought a trade war with Japan, ended with Japan's lost and the signing of Plaza Accord in 1985, resulting the "Lost Decade" of Japan. This game took place in the alternate timeline if the trade war never happened.
I remember that during that time, there were a huge number of self help books by western authors on "Best Japanese practices", "How to do XXX like the Japanese", etc and "Just In Time (JIT)" was a novel concept that was being taught as the be all and end all.
For those who don't understand the context, here's an explanation about the references related to the United States: 0:15 This is the Oval Office in the White House, viewed from the president's desk looking across the room. 1:16 The Torii gate (鳥居) literally translates to "bird's dwelling." A bloodied bald eagle (a symbol of the U.S.) standing on top feels like dark humor. Of course, Torii does not mean that literally; for its original meaning, please check Wikipedia. 1:24 サンライズMOTEL (Sunrise Motel) is an American motel with Japanese architectural influences. 1:26 Dr. Gadget is a pharmacy. 2:20 Performing seppuku under the cherry blossom tree in front of Mount Rushmore (mixing American material symbols with Japanese spiritual symbols). 2:49 It might be Joel Golf, but I'm not sure. 2:55 The Oval Office again. 2:58 It seems few people notice that the eagle's wing color is different from reality. 3:28 In reality, family portraits of the president are usually displayed, but here, it's replaced with images representing Japanese and American cultures. 3:55 Clearly a blend of silhouettes from many American heroic movie characters. 4:10 A six-tiered pagoda appears on Route 50 (originally a five-tiered pagoda from Japan). 4:46 Handprints and footprints on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (in high heels), along with the date (Showa 76, aka 2001) and messages. The Showa era actually ended in Showa 64, which is 1989. If the Showa era hadn't ended, Showa 66 would be 1991, and 76 would be 2001. 5:05 Neo Yokohama, the original Hollywood, originally LA. 5:17 The buildings above have been replaced with Japanese architecture. 5:28 The streetcar's "桑港" is an old name Japan used for the San Francisco. 5:32 The lantern's "金門" (Golden Gate) is a literal translation: "gold" (金) + "gate" (門). The lantern style is inspired by Japan's Thunder Gate (雷門). 5:33 The Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, accompanied by a Japanese lantern. 5:35 "Welcome to Shibata's Las Vegas." Note "Shibata" used to be "Fabulous." 6:16 A statue of Katsuie Shibata, which has a prototype in Fukui City, Japan. 6:18 Neo Tokyo-4, a meme from Neon Genesis Evangelion's Tokyo-3, originally Austin. 6:22 I don't know why many people mistake this for the White House; it is actually the Texas State Capitol. 9:58 The jumping action from Contra. 12:00 Some people say this implies what America did to Native Americans, but I'm not sure.
I'm gonna be honest, they delibaretly did NO research on Japan and it still feels more accurate to Japan, than AC Shadows. Also you get a point for knowing about the truck xD

There's an interview of the game creator recently and he said the concept of zombies has some difference compare to the mainstream concepts. Such as the zombies were Japanese will take off the shoes before break in a room.

Most young westerners dunno US broke down the Japan economy in 80s by it's hegemony.
The US has 3 times the population and 1000 times the natural resources of Japan. Japan didn't fail because they couldn't pass the US.

China has overtaken USA is actual economy size for quite some time btw.
Look up PPP adjusted ranking.
More precisely, the US requested Japan to sign, and there is no such thing as signing after a failed trade war.
@@vallar57 Yeah no. China's economy is in shambles right now across multiple sectors from real estate, food security, to GDP.

YES!
Yep wink wink

It seems everyone is indeed a man of culture
The whole game can be summarized in the first 2 seconds: Two japanese zombies with traditional clothes, in the US presidential office.

The Americans are laughing with the chinese.
"Neo Tokyo - 4" implies the existence of Neo Tokyo 1 through 3
