Believe it or not after two years of my phone being in storage with the same black screen problem; followed these instructions and it's up and running like new! Priceless advice and much appreciated.
Your video was very helpful and helped me learn my phone front to back but sadly it still didn't work for me. I did everything said in the video but I guess my luck sucks. Thank you for all your help. The conflict with this thing is completely beyond me unfortunately. :(

what happens of your battery just fell off and when you put it back it doesn't turn on unless you put the charger to it but doesn't unlock just stuck on the reboot screen

I replaced my screen and digitizer assembly and it will not power up at all. I tried to "power reset" and checked to see if itunes will recognize it and it didn't. What do you think could be the problem?
I replaced LCD, everything seems to work, except battery won't charge past a certain point. I know that it was not like this before...any ideas?

@icracked I tried all your solutions for fixing the black screen. my backlight still works. I tried a hard reset, the phone just turned back on the same way it was. I unplugged the battery and plugged it back in, same deal. I plugged it into itunes, and again same thing, no result. I can still use voice control and notice my phone vibrate when i get a notification. I feel the logic board may be damaged. what else can you suggest i try however??!

Please help, digitizer works just fine after screen replacement however, my colors look as if they were bleached out.for instance when i turn the phone on instead of being jet black behind the apple logo its more of a greyish white tint, please help

Hi, After I replaced the screen on my iPhone 4 and reset it with itunes the screen doesn't work. The phone turns on and the buttons work, but only a small backlight comes on, but the screen stays black. Do you have any suggestions?
ok so i just bought a screen from you guys from amazon and i have installed over 10 screens before with no problem. well what is hapening now is i try to turn the phone on and the apple logo flashes for a second then a black screen and i know the phone is on because the phone vibrates but i now cant see the screen i checked all the connections and they are snapped into place help
I have just fixed my iPhone 4 with no WiFi no Bluetooth no cellular after I replaced the screen & back glass, since I am anal about not missing any screws and being very cautious on repairs I knew it was a software issue and just tried the usual in updating to the latest iOS & downgrading with all of the GeekGrade versions of iOS, so long story short update to the latest iOS 7.1.2 but without SIM card & TRAY, then if iTunes gives you an error to see the service center & iPhone cannot be activated downgrade to GeekGrade iOS 5.0.1 STILL without sim card & tray and WiFi+Bluetooth+Cellular will work again after a tethered boot STILL without sim card & tray, have not updated to iOS 7.1.2 yet but if you do make sure to leave out the sim card & tray till update is complete, hope this helps anyone ;)
I replaced my screen removed everything and replaced it successfully only thing is that now I can't charge my phone , any suggestions on what could have went wrong?

@iPodtouchhelp8 I have the same exact problem so while the back was off I tried the old screen and the same thing happened again
Also when I do a hard restart while the phone is connected to itunes, itunes tells me that the phone is in recovery mode and it has me update and restore. When it is done the phone is no different.

What's up? My iPhone 4s for some reason, wentg from 70% percent battery to 1% battery. I tried charging it for serveral, several hours and it did nothing. It stayed at one percent. So I tried turning it off and back on and now, it will not turn on. I put it back on the charger and when I click the lock/wake button it just shows the little lightning bolt. can you help me? p.s. my iphone 4 screen changed to white one day when I woke up at the morning maybe i pressed it while i was sleeping and then I just shacked genitally and then it worked fine for some hours, but then I open the phone and disconnect the battery and reconnected and was fixed, but again after a week it turned to while again even i tried to reconnect the battery, but did not worked :( .

My phone works but only on itunes it shows the screen saying its in DFU mode amd i need to restore it but the screen doesnt turn on at all
Your in DFU. You have to hold down the lock button and the home button for 10 seconds, and release both of them when the Apple logo hopefully shows up.

it you are still having this problem you most likely did not remove the protective sticker that covers the back of the replacement LCD, if this is case the phone will be on but it will seem like the screen is black. Unfortunately, you have to take it apart again and remove this sticker in order for it to work properly.
my i phone 4 white does not turn on i had it hooked up to the chager and my damn catdog lol yeah he thinks hes a dog. to the point the lil fucker bit or chewed through the chager cord now it doesnt turn on please tell me what to do or should i just chuck it into the wall ?
my screen on my Iphone went black last week it really freaked me out it's done it 4 times now after about 15 mins usually comes back to life the battery has full life but it becomes unresponsive why has it began doing this I've had my phone for 2 years without any problems until now . A little worried if these hacks don't work what will it cost or how will I fix it

no it still does it every so often but not for a a few days now but will be buying a ebay phone screw driver set to do the hack if it gets worse took the phone to apple store who said it costs £60 just to look at the phone and say's iphone 4's are really old and just want me to upgrade saying soon iphone 4's will be useless as apple won't be doing upgrade syncs so maybe all our phone are going up the creek because of apple wanting us to buy new ones. with us connecting to apple to update our music etc.. would be very easy for them to put something on our phones etc without us knowing that buggers them up. just my view
