I'm sure I commented before but its been a while. Just wanted to say how beautiful this compilation is. Starblazers/Yamato forever one. Love all you guys creating these vids.
Its without words how amazed I am. I started watching in the US in the early 80s with broken content and all. Argo or Yamato we love the freedom together. Beautiful and I am speechless.
Yeah I made this after just happening to catch a couple episodes of the old Star Blazers on the Scifi Channel. I watched the rest of the series years later but I have still yet to see anything outside of those 3 or so seasons
I use to watch this in the morning shows. I would redraw entire battle scenes from modern day military capabilities. Was fascinated by electronics, always wanted to invented something to stopt Russian nuc's from getting near American soil. Then was assigned to one of the projects aimed at stopping said nuc's, but turned it down because I was never asked if I was interested in the position. Quite frankly I didn't want the responsibility that and a lazy person.
Same here. What made it so great was it was the first anime i saw in the US that didn't completely lose its edginess in localization for this market. Really, while it had some cuts in graphic or sexual content, it didn't dumb down the action. People DIED in its run here. Hell, if I remember this accurately, there was an actual "fan service" shot of Yuki/Nova's uniform tearing, revealing her breasts! Either the syndicator here (Claster Productions) got a risky shot past their Standards & Practices drones or they just got lucky w/the stations that carried it. Either way, it was a ballsy call to this then 12 year old kid!

Always an awesome thing I occasionally wonder how WW2 vets at the time of the original series especially those in camps and who survived Pearl Harbor felt about a cartoon about mankind's future depending on a Japanese battleship
I think that is why she was renamed the Argo on Star Blazers in the US instead of keeping the name Yamato. Plus they Americanized the crew member names, Wildstar instead of Kodai, Nova instead of Yuki etc.
There used to be footage of me when I was 3 years old, climbing the threshold of my bedroom door, Star Blazers was playing in the background. Aside from the Yamato, I remember very little... other than I enjoyed it.

I never liked the newer versions of the wave motion cannon. yeah when fired it would expand over great distances. but to see it turn into several beems at a at point never made sense to me
It is not a progectile or a torpedo. it is the entire ship becoming a giant cannon. to see it split like that just ruins it for me. and I watched the original series. and the new ones and all the movies. Ressurection did not mind with the six shot.

During one of the Star Blazers episodes, there is a battle at Pluto, similar to this. LOL...either way...this is brilliant, and thank you for posting it. The graphics are exceptional.
that was like the first episode i seen i think. there was some kinda reflex cannon and they couldnt use the wave gun becuase there where somekinda giant microbs that lived on pluto and they couldnt harm innocent life. so they had to find out how to defete the relex gun without just blowing up the planet. that one episode and whatever episode shown afterwords where all i seen of the show before i made this video it was enough to inspire me to make this. i really should whatch more lol

Japan's SAMIRAI (warriors) will eventually develop a space battleship Yamato, which will always be warped to protect the Earth. I think. It may be decades, or even hundreds of years. At that time, it would be a time when a crisis would come to humanity on earth. It is thought that it will be the time when all nations must become one. That time will surely come. Space battleship Yamato will demonstrate its ability at that time.
Atomic Bomb developed in the US. Admittedly with the help of German scientist but it wasnt like they took a couple bombs created in Germany and brought them over. And they already tested the first one in New Mexico. Dont know about an American Trap. They dropped leaflets and asked for a surrender before dropping the bombs. A trap is something you set for someone to walk into. If you lead someone into the trap then you are dropped by the trap I suppose. But they didnt lead Japan into the trap. They basically warned them of the trap coming if they didnt surrender and then Japan chose to not to. The time for all nations to come together as one will hopefully come at some point. Probably many many many many many centuries from now but who knows :3
The live action movie had good visuals but never did it for me. 2199 and 2202 were closer to the originals yet still did not bring out the emotions I felt with the original Quest for Iscadar the Comet Empire and to a smaller degree the Bolar Wars

I believe this is remastered since this is not how the battle occurred at the Pluto.
