Definitely amazing and hit the nail on the head! I absolutely love Colorguard and my family doesn't know the half of what it takes to be excellent at it! I still have a lot of learning to do, but those days of outside in the hot sun, doing the same 16 count move 30X in a row is what I live for.
At my school people who are in guard, band, or percussion are highly respected. No one in the guard makes fun of the band and no one in the band makes fun of the guard. The respect comes from getting second in state this year and first the five years before that. At startup camp we work from 5:30pm-9:30pm and at band camp we work from 8am-5pm. At my school guar is also a class, and is considered for fine art credits. I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you want your guard to have respect
I wish my band respected us in the guard nearly as much as the band here does... And the stuff here is so true, I'm a second year in high school and I love guard so much because if you don't love someting you might as well not do it...
When i started band (in general, i know these are corps) i had no idea wat a color guard was, so when i saw my first dci show, i was trying to figure out why some ppl werent wearing uniforms (the color guard) I think i watched the color guard that whole night...Pit and colorguard are my fav sections to watch--ignorant ppl make them seem like underdogs but they work just as much and mean just as much as ever other section
@PetalTrumpet95 I personally think they do..especially concerning DCI and I couldn't do either one so I respect them both for what they do--I think they make the shows better; that's just my opinion
I was on the rifle line by my second season of guard (so my Freshman winterguard show) I had fun being a back flag for my first marching show which is on youtube (search Danza Del Sol) but I'm excited to have a rifle in my hands on the field instead of a mat :)
You know you're on drumline when watching a video full of sweaty guys chopping out interests you more than girls in skimpy workout clothing dancing around.
this one time in drum corps i was trying to show a colorguard girl how "easy" tossing a riffle in the air ....... 5 stiches later let's just say i was wrong
I still like my ideal... the whole guard gets sick at the same time and can't perform at a competition, then let the band see what score they get with out us... that might teach them to have some respect for color guard

I wish they showed the DCI championships on ESPN still... :(
I can't help but agree with the guy that made the comment about how one bonds with their rifle throughout the season. My rifle is my baby
Amazing silk work at 1:44. Love the Blue Devils.
Twirlers ? TRIGGERED
The corps was the Blue Devils :) their show that year was "Dance Derby of the Century"

I agree...It is good to be a guy in guard...never have to worry bout being alone with out a beautiful girl by your side. No...really I love guard.
This video made this guard girl who's still on flag after 3 years how important flag is :)
guard geeks forever
i have to try that making eye contact with an audience member thing!!!!
1:17 Sh*t Guard Instructors Say! Hayyy~
OMG That is the guy from Sh*t Guard Instructors Say!!!
You know you're on drumline when watching a video full of sweaty guys chopping out interests you more than girls in skimpy workout clothing dancing around.
i love it im in compitishion and im in wintergaurd
@sarah214417 I feel you. Our band doesn't respect us either. They think it's so easy!
When you come from a school who's colorgaurd suck, Drum corp is heaven, for viewing colorgaurd for me
I understand that it's hard, but the rest of the band has to play music and march(cept for pit hehe :D) so your routine is your music.
AMANDA BOND!!!!!
she used to teach our guard
=]

Did anyone else notice the guy slapping the girl on the behind at 0:34?
I prefer the term "flaggot". lol.
GO BD 05'!
@nudist1033 part of the show lol
38 inch rifle??? Wtf lol
Ehhhhhhhhhhhhh i wouldnt quite say that... they just show the hot ones. XD
Trust me.
daaamn 0:08 seconds =]
all the girls are hot XD
if you dont do guard cuz of that... then you prob are.. =/
wow what a really bad way to end the segment "almost perfect"
DCI don't roll with majorettes sweet heart. get a grip on reality.
what guard is this?
you spelled color wrong
That is a whack stereotype... Sure, I'm gay, but I know plenty straight guys in guard. I actually teach straight guys.
~Antonio
I like the personalities of them but we r NOT flag twirlers get it right!!!!
you obviously lack knowledge about DCI
Stop splitting hairs.
