Even in the 1970s we were, as a nation, better dressed and more presentable than now. I went to Norwich in 1977 to study at the School of Art, leaving in 1980.
The world has certainly changed since then. I hope you enjoyed your time at the School of Art. Thanks for your comment. If you enjoy this type of content, please consider subscribing. 😀
@@ReelFilm2016 No, but I had to pause and look closely at the girl in the white jacket at 1:28 - she looked familiar at first, but on closer examination, it wasn't who I thought.
Oh wow, my old stomping ground ! A little before my time - the Home Entertainment Centre` was Maplin by the time I got there - but plenty of familiar sights none the less. Thanks for this.
Hello Sir. Thanks for the comment and hope you are keeping well. I bought this from a local Knick knack shop and apparently the film was shot by he owners father, or maybe it was his father in law. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this reel was quite cool.
At 21 seconds you can see the Nat West bank i went into in 1974, dressed in my suit to see the bank manager to borrow money to buy furniture, when we first got married, how times have changed
Looks a better place. Something went wrong in the 21st century. Everything just looks cleaner, people look happier and well dressed. Society was in a much better place.
Hi, thanks for watching and commenting. I have a playlist of various reels. (Not all of Norwich though) ua-cam.com/play/PLJESjKG7vXH80sEk79LBB1JIgMlyXYnwp.html&si=gxD4xKxcuVwbZbwb
Hello, thanks for watching and commenting. I don’t know off the top of my head. It’s stock music on Final Cut Pro. If and when I jump on again, I will try and remember to look.
@@Crayfish3D Hello again, the track is called Jaracanda and can be found in iLife Sound Effects under jingles in Final Cut Pro. It might even be present in iMovie

Yes a lovely era days where good Housing and property's looked lovely Where I live is a s..t hole west earlham is a landlords haven they have students and unsavoury people in their property's the gardens are a shambles the paths full of litter I'm afraid to say that the Area I live has dramatically changed My uncle passed away a few year ago and was in the raf a proud man and a fantastic gardener When he passed away a landlord bought the property and moved in student's Now the once gorgeous garden I filled with weeds the once lovely baths you walked are cover in a mat of weeds broken gutters rubbish left everywhere Yes it's now wonder why earlham has been named as one of the top ten most deprived and undesirable places to live in the country on a recent pole A shame
@ReelFilm2016 it's crazy because of the expansion of the university of East anglia more students more landlord's and less housing for new families starting out Norwich is not a city if I was an outsider I would want visit as is great Yarmouth which I recently visited omg what has happened there is absolutely scarey a dangerous place to live in certain areas different cultures causing friction I heard of a local who lived there all his life not good
my era, still live here but not a patch on the 70,s.still one of the best places to live ,at the moment but council will put paid to that eventually.15 min city anyone.we are already being encircled by 5g towers.mmmm i wonder why ?

I love watching these old films of Norwich, and I always look out for myself or people I knew back then.
@@paulkirkland3263 Glad you enjoyed it. Did you spot yourself?

@@asprinwizard my reflecta film scanner. I have a video on it in one of my playlists if you are interested 😀

So glad you stumbled upon the video. I bet it bought back many memories. Did any of the furniture survive to the present day? 😀
No, it followed us around the RAF for many years, but now long gone.@@ReelFilm2016
look how easy it was to drive around , now we have too many road closers , speed bumps everywhere and overpriced car parks , progress indeed.
It looks likes a lovely time to have been part of, but I bet everyone was stressed about something 😆
All by design to take away your car .
Why would you want cars racing around the city centre? All the roads lead to car parks nowadays. Not really sure what the issue is

In your opinion.
