About the new elites you're seeing (big carapace armored boys): Welcome to slightly higher difficulties. There's a few more enemy types you haven't seen yet. Don't try and block their big overheads! You'll get absolutely crushed. You need to dodge those. Light attacks against carapace armor doesn't really do anything, you need to heavy attack them.
13:30 - Freeing somebody from a trapper's net is fast. They weren't downed, just trapped.
15:32 - Lol, nice.
17:40 - That absolutely wasn't a wasted charge. On top of movement, it also refills your toughness (the blue bar above your health, basically a shield) and gives you a damage amp. It's perfectly reasonable to just hit charge whenever you feel like you're under pressure.
20:10 - That's incense :) In the warhammer universe, they believe that in order to make sure your guns don't jam and work properly, you need to pray to your weapon. Also works the same for any other technology.
21:50 - Yeah, sure. You're gonna be swimming in the in-game money in short order, so it's perfectly fine to use it on anything that looks even mildly interesting. Plasteel and diamantine are the crafting materials, those are gonna be much tighter and you're gonna need to budget that carefully at the start. That's why you kinda want to avoid spending it until later.
23:40 - All the tracks are melee based xD It's hard to make a bad zealot build. Generally speaking, left is crit chance, charging and straight up brawling, middle is a bit more supporty ability & bonuses for being at lower health (kinda berzerker style), and right is invisibility & stealthy backstabby rogue stuff. As a general rule of thumb, survivability comes from toughness. Anything that gives toughness regen is probably pretty great.
26:00 - You wanna block-push poxbursters away from you and dodge backwards. That's the safest way of dealing with them,
28:40 - Sorta? There's a lot of possible spawns, and it randomly chooses 4 of the possible ones. They won't be in exactly the same place, but you do eventually get a feel for where they're possibly going to be.
30:20 - That's a respawn point. If someone dies, they'll respawn at the next respawn point in the level.
31:20 - Successful dodge is any attack started on you that misses due to a dodge. Also, there's a distinct sound que for getting hit in the back (a whooshing sound). You'll get to a point where your muscle memory dodges you automatically anytime you hear it :) Also, about the "lunges", melee attacks are tracking. If they start it, they WILL hit you unless you dodge or block.
35:10 - Most groups just avoid getting grimoires entirely as they're added difficulty. If someone has a grimoire, it'll passively corrupt your health over time.
I can't express how much I appreciate the thoroughness of your comments. This is truly so helpful and I can't believe someone is willing to take the time to comment like this on my stuff. Thank you for all of the advice and tips and for enjoying my stuff!
@@akabreadley It really wasn't that big a deal. I just paused the video anytime there was a question or a thought I had, added the timestamp and hit post at the end. Glad it's appreciated though!
Regarding weapon blessing/stats/perks, rending is armor penetration, cleave is ability for the weapon to hit more targets in a single swing, finesse damage is extra damage applied to weakpoint/headshot hits, strength is extra damage and bleed is a damage over time effect
The Flamer fires a continuous stream when aimed/braced, some other weapons also behave differently when aimed like boltgun which switches between automatic hipfire and semiauto aimed modes
Thank you for listing all of this out! This is massively helpful. Yeah idk why I never aimed down the sights of the flamer xD
It's so wholesome to see new people discover what has been my joy for decades now. Been in love with WH40K and WH-Fantasy from the very beginning. Watched the entire thing grow into what it is today. I love Darktide so much and I am loving your gameplay. You're so fun to watch and hope you continue enjoying your journey fighting in the name of the Emperor.
Hey thanks for tuning in! Thats awesome to hear you've been around for so long and watched it grow. Its such a rich amazing universe that I'm so happy I've finally discovered. I have a lot of ground to cover!
Lovely to see another upload! its really nice to see your level go up with every vid, its always great to see new players in the game, this is your official welcome to Tertium! :)
:3 thank you for checking out another video and being a regular here in the loaf! I've definitely felt the warm welcome from you, and the Warhammer community in general!
I see you're using heavy attacks! Bravo!
The heavy attacks are so satisfying when they land
The biggest advantage of the snub nosed revolver is how quickly you can switch to it and its excellent accuracy. It is ideal as a secondary weapon if you want to mainly rely on melee but occasionally snipe distant threats
Its so fun to use and incredibly crispy. The team nailed it with this one. Glad I tried it out
@@akabreadley Yepp and dont worry about reloading things halfway all the time either, most if not all ranged weapons have multiple stages in the reload animation, So if you switch to melee mid reload you will actually continue where you left off.
Revolver is my go to. You whip it out, headshot a bomber or trapper, and go back to melee.
Also good on shotgunners and ragers, snipers, or interrupting a mauler that's about to smush a teammate into the ground. Good ammo efficiency, if you can get headshots. slow reload, but you get used to it.
@@Mralien401337 oh thats actually a really cool feature
@@0bzen22 yeah it seems like an all around great weapon
rogue trader is such a good game! You should definitely try it :D also so glad to see new people getting into WH40k! :D
Its on the list! There's so many games, gonna be busy on this channel for a while :)
Great to see you improving so fast! A lot of people played Vermintide 2 before darktide which has mostly the same game mechanics. Quick tip: if you're carrying a power cell, constantly sliding while sprinting is a lot faster and also dodges ranged attacks.
I have Vermintide 2, so I really wanna play that on the channel at some point! Thanks for the power cell tip! I'm excited to find out how to squeeze more movement out of the game
6:57 getting hit like that in Difficulty 5 would have probably downed you, main changes with difficulties is that there are more poxwalkers and more specialists enemies and you get punished harder for getting hit, enemy health does go up also but your own weapons also get stronger in a manner that counteracts that from my own experience
I'm definitely loving the flow of combat but I have some work to do in the dodging and blocking departments
dont forget to upgrade your wepaons and such in the armory. gotta pump those gear scores up.
Oh I can upgrade at the armory?!
@@akabreadley yeah you might need to be a certain level i dont remember its been awhile since i levelled a character in the game, but if you go down the first corridor to the right from spawn its a bigger room with a central desk. you can upgrade your weapons level and add bonuses as well as eventually promoting their rarity.
useful if youre going for a specific loadout build
Just checked this out and I love the ability to empower and consecrate weapons, thanks for pointing this out :)
@@akabreadley no problem dude. it makes the game more enjoyable when you can functionally use the weapons you like and it really builds attachment to them to put work in on them. I feel it's very lore friendly
If you want some peak warhammer animations look up sodaz's 40k uploads. I think ylou have to find the re-uploads due to gamesworkshop striking his channel.
Ohhh ill add it to my list of things to check out!
Practice dodge-slides, where you time a slide with a heavy attack (or just slide), which will help massively to counter the heavy stuff like crushers and maulers, and also dodge suppression so you can close the distance to SMASH THEIR FACES IN.
Plus it makes you look cool. No weak softy sword twirling, no lame bang-bang, you go in with big heavy attacks and a big two-handed weapon, and drop their asses on the floor.
Cruxis, Thunder Hammer, two-handed maul, evicerator, two-handed power sword, they all good, I like the Cruxis, playing bowling with hordes and bonking the big boys.
Heavy attack and timed slides, that's the secret sauce for tackling higher difficulty for zealots, and others, and it's a lot of fun. But you can practice the mechanics and timing at lower level, until it becomes natural. Then Auric is just heresy but more fun more of the time.
I love every thing you just said! I will do my best to look cool just for you!
They grow up so fast. :,)
Trying to do ya proud!
On the flamer, you can do continous fire if you aim down sight. Flamer is really good when there is a lot of enemies but sucks on single targets.
Oh wow I didn't even try to ads 🤦♂️
You dont really have to look for the heretical idols and such, because they make a sound - its kinda hard to describe it, but it sounds like a steam leaking, or something like that :)
They also can only spawn in set places, but there are more spawn locations than just 4 per level and the game randomizes between these locations.
Oh this is wonderful, ill try to pay attention to that audio cue instead of just looking around every where lol
And thats good to know about their locations. Now to learn them all for each level
So lovley to see lower difficulty again, the maps just feel so empty.
Oh man it gets packed at higher difficulties?!
@@akabreadley Oh yes! :D
but thats where the Game gets its Magic. Always nice to see new Players!
Happy to have finally taken the plunge into this game. It's a pure gem of a game
do you think youll ever try the age of sigmar video games
Any age of Sigmar games you'd recommend? :D
@@akabreadley realms of ruin
Added to the list!
Look up Tanner Lindberg if you wanna fast track your knowledge on the game n stuff, his videos helped me out a shit ton.
Ooooo ty for this!
I dunno but for me Spacemariens 2 was a big disappointment the melee combat feels so terrible
Aw thats too bad! But I can totally see the combat being subjective. I also think it can be a bit clunky sometimes
