- At its introduction, the second generation V70 XC received a major upgrades. It featured better ground clearance of 8.2 in (210 mm) for a total of 20.9 cm ground clearance thanks to a raised suspension, different bodywork with unpainted bumpers and fender extensions and AWD as standard. An interior grab handle for the front passenger was installed only on this model. Early V70 XC featured special rear view mirrors, a feature that was discontinued after 2003.
Engine and gearbox choices were limited. Only the 2.5 low pressure turbo and D5 diesel engine with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission were available, for the North American market no diesel version was offered.
For 2003 the model was renamed to XC70, in keeping with Volvo's newly introduced XC90.

I bought a 2007 XC 70 last month. Excellent condition 1owner clean CarFax. Looking forward to years of great driving.
Couple of weeks ago, i bought a 2005 XC70 Summun 2.5t AWD in black metallic with black leather with 90k miles ... i am already in love with the car :)

They worked out all the problems with the automatic transmissions for 2004-2007 on the V70/XC70
@@borisbritva7453 Recently bought myself a rare 2001 V70XC with a manual 5 speed and no DSTC system, it's insanely fun on snow! Manuals were ever only made in Europe and very briefly before removing the option of a manual.
