Dude, a Margwa bossfight in a regular CoD campaign is fucking insane. They even had a clever way to implement it so as to not get too far-fetched with the concept. Hallucinations brought on by a chemical weapon is a pretty smart move.
@@JeedyJay Very true. Especially that bit in BO2 where you play as Menendez going apeshit and mowing through everything to get to your sister, that had massive Far Cry energy. Can't say I don't enjoy it either. Parts where things just get batshit in an otherwise standard experience are always a welcome surprise, at least for me.
My favorite part of this game is when a guy tells you "I trust you'll follow the rules out here" and then five minutes later you're using dragon's breath shotgun rounds and driving a tank through an airport.
I wasn't anticipating much from this campaign, but I played half of it last night and it was *shockingly* fun. Gonna watch to the point I stopped and then watch the second half after I finish the game tonight.
Raven cooked hard here. They're the only people left at avtivision with an eye for creativity and unique mission design and stories. This and Cold War were peak. If you haven't played other Raven games pick up Jedi Outcast and Singularity.
Don't forget the guys at Sledgehammer, who are always forced to take on the slack Infinity Ward and Treyarch never bothered to pick up. That kind of shit burns you out after a good while. There was also Toys for Bob, until they were cut loose (and I think a few other studios were too) after Microsoft bought out Activision/Blizzard/King.
For anyone interested, the music playing during the chopper gunner attacks is N.W.O. by Ministry. Some folks may recognize it as the song that plays during the cop chase QTE in Need for Speed: The Run. Neat to hear, though hopefully Ray's voice and the volume of the chain gun prevent it from getting flagged. Sure would have been nice if it was disabled like it was supposed to.
1:00:25 so gun comment here. Funny enough Ray points out part of the reason himself. A helical magazine, is essentially a spiral staircase for bullets. Meaning you get a lot more bullets than your standard stick mag. The other part of why is for when you need to use the gun in tight areas/prone. A helical mag gives a lower profile making it easier to maneuver at times. However, they are very finnicky and a pain in the ass to repair. Not to mention expensive to make.
kinda glad he's playing this on release. I basically drove myself broke getting Dragonball, Metaphor and Dragon age with mario&luigi coming up soon. Thanks for the vod Ray, keep it up.

For anyone who's curious about who the true mole is ***Spoiler Alert*** It's the random nobody in the room at the start behind Livingston that never even get's introduced. The guy that has his face flashed on the screen for all of 2.7 seconds before he disappears until that last cutscene. Also to confirm in the Canon BO story line, Mason is Dead, woods killed him in Panama and Bell is also Dead from Cold War the canon ending in Cold War is the gunslinger ending and clearly Adler wins.
That guy is Caine from Multiplayer. Also he's technically just one of many Pantheon moles -- still no official confirmation on exactly which mole sold out Mason & Woods
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet but I do love that the safehouse hub is a call back to the OG MW2 villa in the Campaign Mission "Loose Ends" as well as the multi-player map.
The abomination is an evolution of the margwa's design. The abomination was introduced in Outbreak in Cold War. Which is the same game the rest of the special zombies used in Emergence came from. While Abominations take reduced damage if hit outside of their mouths.
This was BY FAR the most fun I've had in a COD campaign in a LONG time. There were times where I felt like I wasn't even playing COD anymore, which I wasn't sure about in the moment, but looking back, it was a great change of pace and a way to keep things from feeling repetitive and stale, which is something previous titles have definitely suffered from. It wasn't overly focused on realism or military operations but instead had its own story, with mission types that I personally love (heists, undercover, stealth, etc.) and even allowed us use of killstreaks. Though, I'm not sure why the chopper gunner wasnt available at all in the middle and end of that one mission. It almost felt like it was bugged, seeing as it would have been a perfect opportunity to use it. IDK. On PC, the game performance was/is great (i have a beast PC and was getting roughly 160-200 fps throughout the whole thing), the story and characters were well fleshed out, there was variety in mission types, and it was a good length for a COD campaign. I actually look forward to going through it again for all the challenges/achievements. I'd give this campaign a solid 8.5/10. Always enjoy your playthroughs, man!
Just finished the Biotech level and had to come here to see how Ray handled it - much better than I did lmao. What a fucking unreal level, that one will stay with me for a while
Ray watched My Little Pony way back. That's how and why. If you watch some old Achievement Hunter stuff and pay attention, you'll notice Ray referencing it more then, then he does now.
The best Call of Duty campaign since the original Modern Warfare remake imo. The story is middle of the road but the gameplay was so much fun. The “open world” missions were the highlight for me. Running around in the desert with an F117 nighthawk and a copper gunner was a blast. Emergence was actually pretty unnerving and is probably one of the better FPS levels I’ve ever played, up there with the time jump mission from Titanfall 2. Fun times all around, good work Raven I was genuinely surprised.
The fact the open world mission was very "Here's what you have to do, there's also some other things to help" made it infinitely more interesting than MWIII's where it's "Objective, figure it out" and nothing else to do aside form maybe collectibles.
Honestly, I really liked how they made the Vorkuta level the actual level from Black Ops 1. They didn't have to, the entire thing could've just been "Hey, it's there, but it's a different place because it's a big camp" but they did the whole final stretch of the original level. A nice touch that hit the nostalgia buttons,
Because you don't own your game. You may pay $70 (at least, can be more depending on edition and country) but that's only paying to basically rent the game since you need to log onto servers (or hubspace hosted by them) to play even the singleplayer content. Simply put: You got duped out of your money. Congratz. You must feel pretty "special" now knowing that.
Same, but this time? I ain't finishing this. It's so boring. I came here only interested in Ray's comedy (which is still great), but there's only so much he can do to keep it up while playing a garbage game. I'm passing on this one and will watch other streams of far better games.
Well, the weird part of the music is that it's N.W.O. by Ministry. And it's actually playing when you're doing the Chopper Gunner part. Apparently, the campaign hasn't shown much issue with it playing from what I've seen. In the course of the game, however, there are NUMEROUS spots where licensed music plays, including Alice in Chains, Faith No More, and Head Like a Hole by Nine Inch Nails.

Which is also kinda dumb because the survive ending has him just not being around for the 30 something years to explain his absence, so killing him wasn't even required. I know it's putting a lot of faith on companies remembering their own stories because it's sadly few and far between, but even still, they know what it is because of the skin reference in the multiplayer.
