    Iyanla does that with all of her patients. People forget the things that Iyanla has been through. No matter how much they can blame production Kamiyah was just disrespectful

      Yes she was disrespectful.. but iyanla literally said she had to get her mad or break her down.. when she explode now you're shocked??? She knew what she was doing and I feel like if she really wanted to help this girl the help needed wasn't going to be able to be crammed in a over night stay. Iyanla came at her way to hard to fast she just started to shut down

      Facts 🙏 she didn’t suddenly become disrespectful upon learning that she was kidnapped. That’s just her personality. I do feel saddened for her though that she was robbed of her birth mother. She does need therapy.

    • @jnnlis
      @jnnlis 6 років тому +7

      Patients? That’s just the problem. Iyanla shouldn’t have patients. She is not a licensed mental health clinician and had absolutely no education, training, or experience that would be needed to intervene in a case like this which is steeped in serious mental illness and trauma. It is highly irresponsible and unethical to stick a camera in the face of people who need psychiatric help and it is even more disgraceful when you don’t have the toolbox or skill to help. She’s another doctor Phil. Drama pays and the guests get further damaged and attention for dysfunctional behavior.

    Iyanla’s job is not to “fix” anybody’s life she is there to give her guest the tools in order to cope with whatever is going on in their lives.. it’s up to them as she says to “do the work” and they weren’t able to do the work. You win some you lose some.

Try me and you’ve got another thing coming, I don’t care if you’ve got mental issues or not. Mental people can still hurt others. That little girl needs help and her parents need to grow up. Get off live and be a parent.

      Calloway Angela, sorry to hear that. Hope you the best with the case. You were defending your mother against people who could have harmed her. Most children would defend their parents. What a child chooses as a method for defense may vary from person to person, but overall most people can relate to being protective of a family member.

The reason it is easy for Kamiyah to have a relationship with her biological father is because she didn’t have one so he not competing with another man’s love whereas her biological Mom is competing with Kamiyah’s love for her kidnapper.

    In my opinion, No lyanla didn't go far at all! If Kamiyah could go off like that off simple stuff, Kamiyah IS in trouble!! The family wanted to exploit their child, NOT the SHOW!! lyanla didn't force them to come there and be on that show! Everybody wanna say that Iyanla, went too far, but truth be told, Kamiyah/ALEXIS "mother" didn't raise her well. If kamiyah was able to tell a grown woman how she would CUT her up and BEAT her ASS this that and the third!! What do people think she would do to EVERYDAY people as lyanla said, "That was NOT on the board!" In general, people are uneducated on how therapy works. In therapy, there may be exercises that will help a person to see what is WRONG and SIMPLY on how to improve it.

      Raytooreal L She has to be judged, even in her hurt, so that she can learn better. All behaviors, all emotions has to be accurately determined and identified. She needs to know, "yes, it's bad that you're hurting and yes, you're wrong to be disrespectful; even though it's possibly as a result of hurting. We want to remove the hurt, we want to do away with the disrespect." How can you teach right from wrong without a moral compass, without first judging what is right and wrong? We should all judge others as we judge ourselves.

    I saw the video posted by the father before I saw the episode. The father is making excuses for her behavior. She went crazy on Iyanla, and was disrespectful. The father didn't even tell her she was wrong for her behavior. She threatened violence against Iyanla. The way she is abusive towards her boyfriend is awful. She needs to get trolled just like men who abuse women would.

Like it has been said, black women will go to no end to justify the animosity towards other black women, BUT WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO THOSE NEGRO SONS OF THEIRS, THEY FIND EVERY EXCUSE IN THE BOOKS TO JUSTIFY THE ERRATIC BEHAVIOR OF THEIR BLACK SONS.

      Chanel M Exactly!!! People here are so disrespectful and cold hearted. Iyanla was literally re-tramatizing the girl. It doesn't matter if she said she can go at anytime, she was still thinking about the fact she was left alone.
      It's just like locking a woman up in a room with her rapist and telling her that she can leave at any time. It doesn't matter that you said that. The fact is that you locked that person in the room with their rapist!
      That's basically what Iyanla did. She is a horrible person. She doesn't even have a degree in psychology, what gives her the right to treat black victims of trama in such a way? And here are people cheering her on. How disgusting!!!

I bet you're the type of person who calls someone a slut because they were molested as a child. The fact that you're unable to sympize really shows your lack of character. Coming from a young person who had issues with my own parents I don’t think Iylyana could have fixed their life cause that’s a long healing process 1st the biological mother is still traumatized cause the daughter still loves and call her kidnapper mom, #2 the dad is too hesitant to check his daughter cause he’s very sensitive and hurt that he have lost all of these years with her, and don’t know how to be confrontational, and the young girl I just feel bad for her but I pray she receives the help she needs because I don’t want to see her hurt or experience more pain because people not going to deal with her anger problems in life

    Kamiyah's disrespect is completely unacceptable, the dad is slow and Iyanla was doing too much. People will open up when they are made to feel comfortable all that fetal position, rocking her in her lap and wrapping her up like a newborn was a stretch, don't nobody want to be all jacked up like that. She doesn't remember being in her mother's womb. It was just too merch!

  • @dottiEpre

    I don’t think she necessarily aired it for ratings, because there is a lot of MONEY that goes into simply airing one episode of a tv production. The sound people, directors, production crew, cinematographers,editors, lights, camera crew, music crew, room rental, airline tickets to fly guest/cast out, food, etc. Therefore imagine simply canceling one episode and all the people involved lose that check. They have families to feed too...they didn’t ask that girl to flip out like that and Kamaiyah and her fam still got paid too.

      dottiEpre not to mention so many go thru abandonment issues n that epp could help some1 else to see their issues n seek professional help. Only way I can see Inyanla not really fixing any1's life that's ever been on her show is because they truly weren't ready. She gives some really great advice/homework but people have to be 100% ready for it and I think the other prob is that they're only there for a wk or 2 when clearly from the issues they bring to her....they need a lifetime of counseling. She gives them the tools/push. They should cont the work. Mental health is covered under your health ins. I just think some people like to wallow in dirt.

    • @dottiEpre
      @dottiEpre 6 років тому

      Samantha Mitchel yes, that is what I was thinking too. Many people that don't have the courage or money to seek help can gain from watching her show and seeing how similar their situation is to others and practical ways that can push them into the right direction.

Healing is not pretty and if it wasn't for her show most of yall wouldn't even know what real healing looks like! She was the first to do it and obviously that comes with critique but quit acting like people like looking themselves in the eye...especially my people. Black people been avoiding real healing for generations. That time is up.

      msawmusic not saying they don't need fixing, just saying Iyanla ain't the one to do it. She is not qualified at all. You don't purposefully trigger someone and then abandon the situation bc the blow up that you planned to trigger the patient into didn't happen the way you wanted it to. Iyanla messed up several times including not having the other victim speak to her FIRST bc she could relate, as well as triggering the girl by telling her dad (who hasn't had an opportunity to answer her calls) not to answer when she calls and then to be surprised when she blindsided the girl and clearly was pushing buttons for ratings and once again she was abandoned. The Mom who cried over her losing her in the first place didn't even show up! (Abandonment) dad didn't answer the phone (abandonment) Mom who raised her in jail gone (involuntary abandonment) Iyanla fucked up bc after doing all that, SHE abandoned the girl putting her off the show with no real help or follow up. I'm not a psychologist but I'm pretty sure you aren't supposed to bring out the raw feelings and not stick around to give her proper tools to deal with it. Just made another situation for the girl to have to deal with on her own YET AGAIN
