You published this video at the right time 👍 I was just thinking what else I should grow. Did you ever consider growing jerusalem artichokes, you can harvest them all winter long and you don't need a greenhouse.
Yes! We have a ton and we used the flowers in cut vases at our farmers market when they bloomed over the season here. We have a good bunch propagating so we can sell the tubers next season
So I was thinking of either continuing growing my cannabis indoors. But recently was thinking of buying a 10ft green house to attach to the side of my house. Do you think cannabis would grow outside this winter with active heating? Or would i still add one or more 1000w high pressure lamps outdoors to supplement?
The growth cycle would be affected by the light cycle depending on where your at on the map. Your plants would go into vegetative state after flowering resulting in hermaphroditism of the plant possibly, Without extra light hours I wouldn’t.
We’re in zone 5a/4b, we kept the floor and soil at least 45-50F all winter with our compost heating system, allowing us to grow all winter last winter. We’ve begun heating with a new compost pile this season also. Extending our growing yea round.
If i can keep the frost out a lot of flowering plant keep going too. I use 2 250 w lights for emergency frost off heating that provides some useful light to any surviving peppers etc , but its not worth spending more than 1.50 a day on electric in my situation . Mice and young rats dig in and sniff out seeds so thats a constant battle ! Rats can tunnel like moles , on the plus side they eat all the snails and mice .
How do you know what zone everyone in the world (doubtful) that is watching you. my unheated greenhouse last year was MINUS 8, so what grows, come on you tube expert get a job.
We haven't thought about a greenhouse and winter plantings. We'll watch you and see what might work here. Cheers!
It’s a great way to curb the high and rising food prices! Thanks for checking it out!
I just got a green house and I am thrilled to have come across your video
Way to go! Good luck with the new greenhouse, we’ve got lots of greenhouse growing videos! Thank you for watching!
Awesome info

How long have you been growing in the winter?
@@neverendingharvest6413 as of this point in time about 6-7 years
What climate zone are you in? With your greenhouse what growing zone do you have now?

A green house can let you grow plants one zone higher than the zones you live in
One layer = one zone to 1/2 zones depending, correct, thanks for watching
Consider growing potatoes where the floor is not heated. Just a thought...
Interesting, I’ve got tons of space to work with now. Thanks for the input!
