We had a great experience taking the new Puerto Rico Fast Ferry service. The new ferry service for Culebra and Vieques is located in the town of Cieba. You will enter the marina.

Here are a couple tips:
The ferry website is porferry.com
Book your tickets in advance online.
Remember to purchase ticket for any extra items like coolers, surfboards, extra luggage.
Only 20% of the tickets are reserved for online purchase. So if the date or time is not available and showing sold out just go to the ferry terminal. Arrive to the counter early (90 minutes) to purchase your ticket.
Plan for delays or the unexpected. The ferry schedule changes often and just use the posted times as a guideline.

Is there a ferry or water taxi that travels to and from culebra and vieques??? Im not finding anything online about it. What's up with that?? Also what about vieques to culebrita? I only see culebra to culebrita. I ask bc I'm planning to visit in December and my main stops are playa flamenco, playa caracas and playa Tortuga but all are on separate islands lol I wanted to split my time between culebra and vieques but it seems that would be a pain trying to get between the 2 if I have to travel back to the mainland in order to get to and from culebra and vieques. Any suggestions?? Thanks 😊
Hi! Is everything walking distance from when you get off the ferry in Culebra? Do I need to rent a vehicle there? I only plan on staying for 7 hours on Culebra.

Hi, so as you mentioned I was trying to get a ticket online, but most times, I am not finding the return the ticket. So how easy is it to go to the ferry station and find ticket for that particular day? Or should I book one way tickets online for multiple days just to be safe? A little confused as, most dates I want to go, I might get the ticket for one way, but not both ways. Any additional details will really help.
They should be able to book your return ticket at the ticket counter when you check in. They usually have several “same day” tickets available.

I’m staying near Candado Beach in San Juan. Is it possible to Uber from there to the port?
Hi yes you can definitely take Uber from Condado to Cieba port. It’s about 45min drive and I think the cost is around $70. 😊

Oh yes lots of families with children. 😊 FYI if you have a stroller it might be an extra dollar? I know they charge for coolers, beach chairs, umbrella, bikes. Enjoy your trip
if I'm staying in old San Juan is it difficult getting to Ceiba if I don't have a car?
No it’s pretty easy! you can catch an Uber or Taxi. I think it was around $65 for Uber? We just did a one way car rental from San Juan and dropped off in Cieba.
I will be going to Culebra November 13th and plan on taking my rental car. Do I have to pay to take my car once I get there or can I do it online as well? Thanks!
HI. I would check with your rental car company. Most do not allow you to bring the rental car on the ferry. If your rental car company allows it then you would make arrangements for the cargo ferry. Its easier just to rent a car, jeep, golf cart ect once you get to Culebra.
Do they allow you to keep a rental car parked if you’re staying for the weekend? We will be staying one night and coming back early evening the next day. Thanks!
