Forza is so hard man, as a beginner i'm trying so hard to get better because it's such a cool game but DAMN For someone who's never played this game, cornering is so hard! i'll either not start slowing down even nearly enough, understeer, or just completely spin out once i put the gas back on when i come out the corner! jesus man
Michael McGrory the second horizon was nothing like this it was so much easier to make turns, I think they focus more on drifting then actual turns because the centanario can not turn for shit
I remember watching this along time ago when I watched this guy and thought he was good at drifting now he looks like me about the second day of me drifting
Playing the game now and this didn't help me at all. No one is just talking about which buttons to press and when. I'm trying to trick drift bucket list and challenge so I can't do shit to improve its build. Like "ebrake, clutch in (I'm driving automatic), a little bit of gas, and save it (this doesn't mean anything to me???). Would love any recommendations
How to start drifting in Forza. 1. A RWD car 2. A setup with at least 100HP for every 1000 pounds. 3. A locked differential, preferably both accel and decel, but accel locking is mandatory [Needs race Diff] 4. Manual with clutch 5. The highest upgraded suspension, transmission, and braking components that you CAN'T fully tune and therefore get confused with or obsess about. I believe this is usually 'sport' for most things, since the only other option higher as far as I know is 'race' which is fully tunable and complicated for new drivers. Also, anything that doesn't add power and doesn't have complex full tuning capabilities can go ahead and be upgraded to full race. Such as the flywheel, driveshaft, clutch, etc. Thoughts, guys?
As I stated an a comment above, I use manual but not with clutch and I use AWD while tuning the differential to put more power to the rear of the car. Makes the drifts smoother for me and it also almost guarantees that you will never spin out. The only problem with doing this is the car is going to need a little bit more power but I don't any issues with this.
Valdarious I would always swap a car to AWD rather than leaving it RWD or FWD for the simple ability to tune the front to rear power bias. I could make it a full RWD drift car, or anywhere from a 60% front and 40% rear to 30% front and 70% rear gymkhana car, all the way to a 25/75 up to a 10/90 'recovery drive' rear bias drifter.
Only thing missing in this video is the most important tip. When you get tired of drivatards slamming into you every drift section you try. Go to private free roam online and behold no more drivatards. Traffic is still there but barely.
I usually drift using brake drifting (Just as Tsuchiya himself teaches it) or shift lock clutch kicking. I'll also mix both sometimes for more angle in a dire situation. Sadly, I'm still a huge beginner though and am too stubborn to go back to the e-brake because it's a starter technique. As a little treat, basically to initiate it is crucial knowing when to brake, how hard to brake, how long to brake, when to downshift, and how much to throttle on exit depending on your car. Lower horsepower cars typically allow more throttle flooring on exit. To shift lock drift you basically time your braking just like the brake drift, downshift or upshift and punch the clutch again. (When to downshift or upshift on entry heavily relies the type of corner and the speed of your car + line of entry.) I hope this was interesting but I could be flat out wrong, I always accept feedback. I need to improve my drifting significantly so it would always help to get nice tips.
Gotta say man this video taught me how to drift in 2018. Me and my twin got our drift skills from the big loop on the top right in horizon 3 and then the city your in in this video and were all ready to go in a months time with our new skills for horizon 4
i have played forza horizon, FH2 and now i have FH3 but i can't drift for crap, i don't even know how to tune cars i am only good at races and this helped me out a lot
Great video! I love how you kept the instructions simple for someone like me who didn’t know how to execute a drift (except by throwing the car into a corner at speed XD) I am have improved greatly to execute a drift on command! Thank you.
e-braking at corners makes it stop faster than normal brake and you can turn with e-brake to drift farther except the normal drift is harder. smart one
In the demo. Set the damage and tyre wear to simulation, this allows the cars that doesnt have much power to wear out the tires and lessen the grip. Be aware tho, if you run out of fuel, you will not be able to reset it to none and have a normal working car if you dont start a race or something.
when we finally get this on PC I'll be looking for some private tuition lol Not gonna deny not getting a demo until after the game is on general release seems a contradiction in terms but that's msft and playground for you.Keep up with the tutorial's as they're an invaluable resource for a non Forza player like myself 👴🏻👍🏻
I'm not a beginner but I didn't know how to drift because I'm not an adult I'm only 9 and I don't really know how to do stuff with cars and such but this really helped thank you
Don't drift with the handbrake too much, it is always good to experiment with other techniques to learn how to control your car through all aspects in a drift from entry to exit. From feeling the shift of the weight to simply throttle control. Likewise it is crucial to get used to the manual with clutch setting, because it allows you to initiate the maximum amount of drifting techniques in your car.
I prefer to powerslide rather than using the e-brake and clutch, especially how that's how you'd do it in most cars nowadays which have electronic e-brakes and automatic transmissions.
real drifters dont use electronic ebrakes and autos. they all have manual trans and regular old fashion ebrakes, hence why you dont see brand new cars out there drifting. Also most car manufacturers these days dont make a car for drifting. more along the line of economy and luxury.
So this IS in fact my first ever driving game since the 80s. Is clutch essential to good practice and play? I have not been using clutch in difficulty. I am not doing well with the e-brake after 1,000 miles driven
I don't understand what you taking about? im trying to do a drift race here using a xbox controller I have no idea what to press to get my car to drift, the race gave me a Nissan 350z to do it in im stuck your talking about clutches I don't have a clutch or steering wheel.
Im drift beginer and i got qestion is ford cobra r 1995 is good for driftig I puted on exsaust not chainged the engienie onle wheals brake and turn radius car clas is B
I’m ok at the entire racing part, but drifting is far from my thing. I didn’t normally use clutch, i know I’m extremely late to this video, but do I have to use it or just for people who use that setting? Also every time I attempt to e-drift I just do a 180 like almost immediately I’m on a wheel btw
Guys i have a problen with controller settings ( xbox360 controler for pc ) when i make a turn i need 1 sec of difference ( or less) for it to actually turn i need to up the sensibility of the left stick . Can u plz tell me where i can find that setting and what value to put?
My technic is to have at least 800 hp rwd and floor it in the start of the turn then it will slide then I control the acceleration an control it with with turning
Look, I need some help. I'm pretty good at drifting with a controller but I have bought a wheel and can't drift on it. I know this is natural but I can't find a proper video for drifting with a wheel. Would controller videos work, or are there any videos out there by SLAP or anyone else about drifting with a wheel. I don't think CTorreto has made a vid, but he has made a vid about comparing the two control types.
I chose the stock s15 at the start and I keep spinning out when drifting even on the small round abouts. Im using the g27 steering wheel and can drift perfectly in dirt 3 and grid. Would you know what settings to choose in the in game settngs?
Tommcatt pls respond My problem is i can get tandems with low horsepower and stock cars but when i throw anything of 550+ i cant control it and this happens alot on horizon 2, on forza 4 and 6 i can do it easy is this my techinique the game or waht??? i drift on ac (pc) all the time Thanks!
patrick ontario automatic doesn't really work because it won't hold a gear. its set to do whatever it can to regain traction, so you'll at least need manual so you can control the gears. manual with clutch is really only necessary if you want it to be, or if you use clutch kicks to initiate, rather than ebrake

Michael McGrory The driving line is super helpful. I suggest playing with it on full
Michael McGrory i also suggest driving with manuel because its easier to lower your speed than using automatic.
Michael McGrory i feel you bro i just got this game and its soo hard driving right
Michael McGrory the second horizon was nothing like this it was so much easier to make turns, I think they focus more on drifting then actual turns because the centanario can not turn for shit
Yea im pretty noobie at this game too.

@@TheDigitalAtlas well man i say switch to manual, and what i learned was throttle, get off and use the ebrake and then hold throttle nd counter steer
so who's video should i watch to learn how to drift ?
Lol driving on the left side is messing with you too
Same! I'm from UK and we drive on left but 99% of games are on the right, it's v hard to adjust
I drive on the left on all games
+Sam Barlow yo from UJ
+Sam Barlow UK
+Sam Barlow OH I SEE XD

Yeah kind of weird he made a tutorial for a game thats not out yet haha harder to drift the cars in the demo cause they dont have alot of hp or torque

if yall cant drift with a rwd car then you shouldnt be drifting.

This video was for me, last driving game I took seriously was need for speed underground 2, glad to see I can still get my RX-8
Thomas Oakheart yea
Need for speed was overrated
@@brandonjohns6521 nah need for speed series was a masterpiece just because it was our childhood activity
Thanks so much I got better at drifting in like 2 hours because of this tutorial👍🏾

Why are you making a tutorial for beginners when you're still a beginner
he has no idea what he is doing trying to teach other people, its like im in highschool all over again lmao
he is a-bo satsukawa
Swiss .326, he has played every forza Horizon game. He's teaching us for those people new to Forza.
Swiss .326 exposed
if only you could turbo the 4 rotor it'd sound like a jet
this dude is just holding the e-brake around the corners, thats not drifting sorry to say
True. Or just slam the ebrake and let the car slide and full throttle, because rev limiter is banging.
Trevor Tokach so what is??
FP. He first kicks e-brake then quickly kicks clutch and then he throttles. Thats how you drift in real life too.
Lul M8 holding the ebrake in corners? come on kid
e-braking at corners makes it stop faster than normal brake and you can turn with e-brake to drift farther except the normal drift is harder. smart one
I just got forza horizon 3 and I'm here because I was driving my general lee and drifted it around the roundabout
how to drift ? bro its forza you can drift a honda civic type r fwd xD
no u cant
Yea you can, its so funny
Exactly
You can drift a honda in real life if you are good
JDM IS LIFE No you can't lol

Is there going to be fuel stations that actually work?
+Zeno apparently so, that's what I've heard... I believe they are rumors though, you'll probably just go to an outpost/festival expansion
This actually helped me because I was never a big drifter
when we finally get this on PC I'll be looking for some private tuition lol Not gonna deny not getting a demo until after the game is on general release seems a contradiction in terms but that's msft and playground for you.Keep up with the tutorial's as they're an invaluable resource for a non Forza player like myself 👴🏻👍🏻
saved me with those settings made my game 10x better
This worked so good within 10 min I was already getting better
Can you do a video on cars you'd suggest for drifting?
id recommend the Audi R8 cause it's easy to control while drifting
RWD, light and high torque.
Soft suspension setup and short gear ratio.
I'm not a beginner but I didn't know how to drift because I'm not an adult I'm only 9 and I don't really know how to do stuff with cars and such but this really helped thank you
being Australian it's really hard to not scream at him for driving on the right side of the road
when playing games, road is road. does not matter which side >:)
thank u i was a playstation guy now i have xbox one s this helped alot
what's ur set up?
When you clutch-in, do you hold clutch?
Going from sweet drifting with a controller to a steering wheel is sooo much harder
what does clutch in mean?
I recommend the BMW M5 and M6 as fantastic stock drifting cars, you can control them very easily and the engines are very flexible
what if you dont play using manual shifting
Then just put it in manual for drifting
Bruh who uses automatic?!
need clutch though
I don't use clutch and I drift fine
Lmao, you don't need manual to drift.
Show us a good drift build for beginners!Who else?
This vid helped sooo much. at first, I had no clue how to freestyle drift, but know I do!!!!! :))
Thanks for the help I’ve improved a lot from this
Broooooooooooo Remember when you did this series on FH1,Man That was actually my first vid that I watched
Brooooo remember fh3 holy sh*t
Is the handling more like forza 6 or forza horizon 2?
The orange ute at the second roundabout was a Ford FPV Super Pursuit
I also recommend AWD cars, that stuff drifts by itself
Lol this was uploaded on my birthday :D and thx btw this helped a lot!

thx tomcat you helped me how to drift in the roundabout in fh2 and fh3
what do you mean tunning after learning you should tune it a little bit like lengthen the gear ratio like so you don't over rev
I prefer to powerslide rather than using the e-brake and clutch, especially how that's how you'd do it in most cars nowadays which have electronic e-brakes and automatic transmissions.

Yep. Prepare to tap the e-brake and hold in the throttle...
it's he-yun-day, not hun-die. any other Hyundai person would get super pissy about that, but I love you tomcat.😁
i have bought a thrust master race wheel and i do real clutch kick drifts rather than e drifts like you so could i apply any of these to the wheel?
Thanks, its useful for beginners like me.
So this IS in fact my first ever driving game since the 80s. Is clutch essential to good practice and play? I have not been using clutch in difficulty. I am not doing well with the e-brake after 1,000 miles driven
Dane Patterson Clutch is not necessary, use manual without clutch.

What's the difference between simulation and normal steering? I use a controller and don't know which to use.
Im using automatic shifting cuz Im new to the game, should I use manual or not?
what are you using to record/capture your gameplay? and share your hardware? software settings plz
I watched how to drift for forza motor sports 6 and got so confused this game looked like it would be a good game to learn to drift so here I am
Took me five months, but I learned to drive with manual with clutch. Also what your doing here is what I believe is E-Drifting
Im drift beginer and i got qestion is ford cobra r 1995 is good for driftig
I puted on exsaust not chainged the engienie onle wheals brake and turn radius car clas is B
Is he using his wheel? I would definitely be drifting with G920. That is the most fun way to enjoy drifting and the car I think.
I want to shift with a shiftknob, but forza doesn't allow that. Is it possible to change that?
what could be a good route to practice drifting?
You know what also is a strong word love, and hate
Ok, that clutching thing... can I get the same effect by going into normal manual and taking it down a gear while using the ebrake?
I’m ok at the entire racing part, but drifting is far from my thing. I didn’t normally use clutch, i know I’m extremely late to this video, but do I have to use it or just for people who use that setting? Also every time I attempt to e-drift I just do a 180 like almost immediately

End of Horizon 3... just starts trying to drift 😂
Please do a video on the tuning for drifting when the game comes out
Guys i have a problen with controller settings ( xbox360 controler for pc ) when i make a turn i need 1 sec of difference ( or less) for it to actually turn i need to up the sensibility of the left stick . Can u plz tell me where i can find that setting and what value to put?
Disable vsync.
It makes input lag.
Wait, do we do e-brake and clutch-in twice or just once because when he tells you the trick he says, "E-brake, Clutch-in, e-brake, clutch-in.'
I learned to drift with the m4. it took 5 minutes to learn drift it with amazing lines xd
Did you have any issues with your drifting and PR stunts not registering on your stats page?
Should I use RWD or AWD
hey do you guys think the ultimate edition is worth the extra cash for what you get???
Can't wait for the silvia s14
Thanks! It helped me a lot!
It’s hard. Especially coming from someone that never stoped doing drags for god knows how long.
My technic is to have at least 800 hp rwd and floor it in the start of the turn then it will slide then I control the acceleration an control it with with turning
Was this s15 used in forza horizon 4 trailer
Bro this shot helped me thanks
What does clutch in mean I’m really new to cars I only got into cars because of forza ( and what’s throttle control)
Look, I need some help. I'm pretty good at drifting with a controller but I have bought a wheel and can't drift on it. If u spin out add more grippy tire or lower ur tire pressure just saying I can drift I'm not a begginer
what buttons do you press to drift
The one thing that's wrong in horizon 3 is the roads in Australia aren't that smooth
Thanks for the tips man.
or do u have to have clutch on?
Is 1356 hp enough?
JK I'm just being a dick!
can u drift on manual with out clutch?
Thunk you I had I hard time drifting I'd hard I like dragging
Do you use the handbrake in there???
I chose the stock s15 at the start and I keep spinning out when drifting even on the small round abouts. Im using the g27 steering wheel and can drift perfectly in dirt 3 and grid. Would you know what settings to choose in the in game settngs?
perfec
t that helped me a lot as u said pls more of those totourials for noobs like me
Tommcatt pls respond
My problem is i can get tandems with low horsepower and stock cars but when i throw anything of 550+ i cant control it and this happens alot on horizon 2, on forza 4 and 6 i can do it easy is this my techinique the game or waht??? i drift on ac (pc) all the time
Thanks!

How do you buy cars and customize cars on the demo?
wondering the same thing
+Drizzy570 I don't think so. It sucks cus I'm stuck in the Ute
Its a demo, you can't.
+AeroBlades darn
Jacob Schumacher Yup, there is more content in it than most demos tho
what ever happen to the other tutorials for foza motorsports 6
How do you drift in
With keyboard and mouse?
hey TC9700Gaming i have the game forza horizon 3 im trying to drift do i need a manual transmission or can i do it with automatic
patrick ontario automatic doesn't really work because it won't hold a gear. its set to do whatever it can to regain traction, so you'll at least need manual so you can control the gears. manual with clutch is really only necessary if you want it to be, or if you use clutch kicks to initiate, rather than ebrake
Will a koenigsegg one:1 work
I trying to drift in viper with 1000hp but just can't do it so tell me how I can do it
I was wondering why you were always close to hitting an upcomming car... Turns out Australians drive on the left lol
Is the non demo out?!
Manual or manual w/clutch
can i drift useing whell g920 logitech its hard if can ??
