I’m a French citizen and went to the French Guiana/Brazil border. Coming back into town, the gendarmes controlled my French passport and Guiana plated rental car three times whereas on the river separating both countries and with boats full of Brazilians and others crossing the whole day into French Guiana, no one gendarme could be found.

I mean compared to the rest of South America it is pretty rich. Geography and demographics determine that French Guiana will always be poor relative to france.

I fell bad for all the indigenous people who lived their lives normally and one day French got in French Guyana and said ok this is our land , now all of you are French
Wtf, did you watch the video? The people do the crossing both ways and they are mostly indigenous civilians, it's weird that there's a colony of France in this day and age there at all.

Franche needs to support her colonies!
They should invest there and give proper jobs to their people. They are french citizens.

Can you imagine the snakes and anaconda in the water and on land. Scarey!
Why do they import French police ,Gendarme and diplomats . Can't they recruit the locals ?
They fear losing Guiana. They fear independence of Guiana lol. They clearly know that the people hate them.
