Similar happened to one of mine. The tube will also separate from the metal base. Worth fixing. Very good antenna.

How is the bandwidth on lower bands? 40-80?

On 40m jPc-12 works like a charm. Easy to tune. The same on 30 and 20 meters. 15 and 10 were the two bands where I had some problems in tuning them up - the swr on 15m was about 1.6 and the X = about 16😢 but it might be because of my qth... Ah, one thing, I use a longer whip, about 5m long😉 de EA4CWW
