I think you mentioned using the SAT box to control the rotator but use the new handheld for the radio (which will work, I think) while the 9700 is out of service. That seems like a good idea for your UA-cam channel while waiting for your "real" sat radio to be returned.

That’s all I use. The Retevis RT3S with the OpenGD77 firmware and an Arrow II. I love them both. K3DMM

How many volts was your SAT box putting out? My SAT box also damaged my 9700. My CIV and CW ports no longer function because the trace for the ground burned up (CW and CIV pins share a common ground).

When you get the OPENGD77 on the Retevis you can hook it up to your tower and still work the FM Birds!

good content keep it up and you need to do a second instance of wsjt-x just for the 9700 so you don't have to worry about to make sure if you have the right settings de W9US

not everyone has HUGE antennas ore can work QRO ...FT8 can help you understand conditions and see how youre antenna is working .. just my opinion

Great Job figuring out the issue. I really think that high of a pass with your setup you should be receiving ALOT better than that though. Not sure why youre not. Also rewatch this and compare your antenna location to where Satbox says it should be pointing. It almost looked to me like it wasnt pointing where it should be but I dont know where your N, S, E, and W are at. Just trying to help cause you should be hearing it alot better in my opinion! 73 my friend!

Hello, I made my first ISS contact this afternoon, with the same Arrow antenna, handheld, but with a TYT2027 HT running openGD77 firmware, which corrects the rx/tx doppler shift. Have fun and vy 73!

I was thinking after the live...maybe something isn't right with that 12 foot antenna...because I used to hear you really well last year. When did you switch that antenna?
