All the sets on the list that may retire at the end of this year, there are some i would like to own 1 maybe 2 for investment if i can get at the right price. The rest i would leave them alone as for instance, i think the treehouse set could be heavily horaded with having a long shelf life.
Of what you mentioned, I’m keeping my eye on the Tree House and Space Age for deals. I have Green Hill but may get another. Jazz Quartet might be good longer term as it becomes more unique and vintage. BTS similarly, but I think this will have better part out value. Very much on the fence on typewriter and Stratocaster.
Cheers Ian! I love the type writer and Treehouse(have one in the loft) I can see them both doing ok in time but probably feel like you(not too enthusiastic and would need a good discount)
Hi Gaz - thanks for watching. Larger Lego sets are slightly less appealing for investment as they tie more of your money up and take up more storage space. Decisions decisions !
Space! That certainly is a huge factor as I’m finding out. I take pics and bubble wrap mine up the moment they come and put them back in the box, then in the loft. I’m worried about smaller sets being over brought recently so sway towards the big ones.
Yes,I have thought about doing something like that. I'm not a huge fan of having to post items out, so that puts me off a bit. As my channel grows though, it's definitely worth thinking about
Oh great, if you had the right software setup similar to eBay’s postage labels and free collection from RM things wouldn’t be too bad. People would trust spending a lot of money on you than some random person on eBay who decides to bubble wrap a £400 set with no box… 😳
Tales of the Space Age is is a great set. Just looks terrific and has a 1950s sci fi feel to it. Definitely want to get a tree house to keep. Amazing set and well worth the full price.
Nice video Iain. We own a tree house for ourself, it is a really great build. I also have one as investment but wont get more of that. All the other ideas sets are not on my buy list, i cant see those doing great.
I went a bit mad on Sonic when Zavvi had them cheap and they were on last years retirement list last year! I do like that set, it is Iconic. Don't talk about the Globe Shh! I think it will do very well and discounted a lot at Argos. Just don't tell anyone!
Yes,I got a few Sonics too. I'm on the fence with the globe. It's an expensive set but like the art world map that has just retired, it could do quite well
I've had two treehouse since moving back to the UK. As for selling on for investment ebay etc is surely now out of the question with hmrc now requiring sellers income. Other than Facebook marketplace to sell on this come spell doom for the investment hobby
@@iainsbricks yes, this year is going to be a tight year. Lots of big star wars sets retiring. If the At at retires it's 1 set I will be buying for my son. The bts lego set has been on clearance for 6 months here. No one wants it.

Plenty of time to save up for the sets to build before the end of the year.
Great info and insight Iain
Thank you.
Thank you for producing the video Ian, much appreciated.
No problem Trevor. Thanks for watching

Yes, I'm have the same mixed feeling about a lot of the ideas retiring sets.
Thanks Iain I love your tips. Some lovely sets to put on my list.
Thanks Jai. So many retiring sets this year, it's hard to choose between them.

Btw Iain have you ever thought about your own online shop using something like shopify?
With your channel it could work quite well.

Thanks for your comments. Both sets are really good in my opinion
With sets like BTS dynamite take into account things like the Matthew Perry effect on the Friends set COULD happen.
It could.

Hi Peter - yes, the tree house does look like an amazing build. I'm 50/50 with quite a few of the ideas sets - will probably get at least one of each.
Ps the UCS millennium falcon due to retire alongside loop coaster, corvette and jazz club
Yes, I'll do more videos soon covering other themes
The that Tales of the Space age is the best and a decent price to start off with
Yes, I agree. Still on the fence though as to it retiring this year.

I don't really use ebay anyway so won't affect me. I declare all my income etc to HMRC anyway.
Will not be buying. I do own the tree house.
Sonic and the Space sets are really nice builds.
