Brilliant tutorial!!! Especially that homemade template and explaining how to know where to start to avoid having to tie off all the time. Thank you so much. I've seen baptist fan quilting patterns in books, but nobody has explained how to sew one's way through the pattern. Thank you very much for such clear instructions - I now feel this is possible🎉😍
This is the single most useful quilt video I have ever seen!
wow! Perfect timing for me to find this video. Thank you for the clear instructions. I am making a gauze throw and hand stitching it. I am addicted to hand quilting and decided to try some curves!
Excellent video! This video was very clear and easy to understand. I love the DIY marking template. Thank you!
Great tutorial. A few weeks ago I purchased a Baptist Fan ruler similar to the one you made in acrylic, I love it and I'm now going to follow your instructions and make one with your markings. Thank you for a great and informative video.💜
Watching this reminds me of my Mother and Grandmother who did this without any of the handy tools. Only a needle and thread.
Love your very clear instructions. You use the camera with the audience in mind. Great job.
Thank you from a beginner
Thank you! Best tutorial on UA-cam by far!!!!
I’m only a couple minutes in & already THANK YOU! Great teacher.
I'm about to start my first Baptist fan quilting project. You've explained every step beautifully. Fantastic tutorial 😊
Love your tutorial. I have been attempting to learn to mark the Baptist Fan without success. Your tutorial has allowed me to be successful. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for your attention to detail in this tutorial. I am new to hand quilting, so all these tips will come in handy.
Did you figure out the answer to your question? I ask because I’m left handed also and want to quilt my next quilt with the Baptist fan pattern. Thanks
Thanks from Pamplona Spain!
Thanks. This makes it look so easy. Can’t wait to try it.
Thank you so much!.... this tutorial is brilliant.... I really appreciate you for making this video.👍🏾 God bless you
You are a great teacher! I did this on a quilt a while ago and want to do it again, so refreshed my memory with your video. Thank you for a great video!

Really great tutorial for precise marking of this pattern. Thank you!
Great tutorial! Thanks for sharing. I will be doing this in the near future. Baptist Fan is probably my favorite pattern.

Yay! Thank you for subscribing!
Great great video! Thank you! I’m stuck between this design and the orange peel for a small wall hanging 🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️
Thanks a lot for this and other brilliant explanations of Hand Quilting! As I almost finished my very first Quilt Top and I was wondering if to give it to a Longer Quilter or to quilt it by hand, my decision is made: I’ll quilt it by hand and after Your information it seems as if it won’t get as difficult as I thought :)👍
Clever! I would have drawed a grid and used my circle template, but that is easier.
Nice video. At the present time I'm machine quilting baptist fan design. It is tedious, one row at a time after drawing each one. Someday I'll try the hand stitching.
Thanks for the tutorial. My sister wanted it on her quilt that I made but I couldn't find a pattern for it and had trouble figuring out how to do the second and subsequent rows. I plan to machine quilt it.
Oh my! I’m over the moon! I have a quilt sandwich laying around for quite awhile and I didn’t know how to hand quilting it. And now I’ve seen your gorgeous tutorial! I ‚ll start tomorrow! Thank you so much! I’m happy! 🥳🌺🌷☘️
Is it possible to use this marking strategy for machine quilting?
If you’re left handed, should I quilt from right to left? I’m planning my first Baptist fan.
I'm assuming the markings/holes are 1/4" from the edges?
I just got my General's pastel pencils. Junk. It marks on rough fabric. It marks on other material if you first wet the tip, which then falls off because it's too soft. I can even scribble on the fabric and it doesn't show. I got took on that.
How do you stop the thread from knotting thanks
