Overtaking Minecraft with my own version of the Sculk

- Making my own version of the Sculk (Minecraft 1.19)
Announced originally for Minecraft 1.17 Caves and Cliffs update, the deep dark, sculk, sculk catalyst and warden were features that were delayed two times: one time for Minecraft 1.18 Caves and Cliffs update part 2, and another time during Minecraft Live 2021 where it was delayed to Minecraft 1.19 the Wild Update.
Because of these delays, I've decided to make my own version of it, that is both terrifying and hilarious to play with, with new features like sculk mobs and sculk players (like a sculk custom origin for Minecraft origins). You can also play as a sculk, which is very suited for hunting other Minecraft players, exhilarating!

Honestly we need a "100" player version of this.
Totally in my plans! Once I have a bigger audience I can start to organise those types of challenges
@@doctor4t Whilst a larger audience may be considered necessary, I am of the personal opinion, that a 100 player session of this is to be done... "Soon."
Either way, I enjoy this concept a vast amount, however, for such a mod like this, it may be necessary for there to be "Counters" against the Skulk, perhaps there are to be enchantments to gain weaponry and armor made to combat the skulk, perhaps even special items that could mask the presence of the Player against the Skulk, perhaps feather falling or Leather boots could be modified to serve such a purpose.

@@doctor4t I for one, am so down for something like that. it'd probably be easier to use server plugins to do that instead of mods though, it would make it more accessible to the audience.

I think that removing the “unable to hold items” and making it “get debuffs when not on sculk” would make this a great survival mod.
Or more debuffs from bright light
Another suggestion: Wool armor
You are completely undetectable by sculk mobs unless you attack them
Or Wool packed armor which u can fuse wool with any type of armor
Feels a little like its taking away the point, not just from the mob but from the sculk in general. Swift Sneak already does this best without ruining the sculk entirely.
Maybe it makes it harder for the sensors to detect you? Like making the … detection radius(?) smaller

3:19 I think the problem with the sheep is (and mind you I don't know anything about how this game works) the wool is a separate model than the sheep, as in, the naked sheep model is always present, but simply covered by the wool model. (heck, if you stick your face in a sheep you can sometimes see the naked model underneath.) So the skulk thing only changes the model underneath, I think?

THIS IS WHAT I WANT IN AN OPTIONAL GAMEMODE.
Infection Mode: Very small chance to spawn a Sculk Catalyst a few blocks underground that spreads out at a defined rate. Every 15-25 blocks the Sculk spreads, another Sculk Catalyst is created. This will continue indefinitely until every Sculk Catalyst is destroyed.
I suppose the only downside would be that it would make the Deep Dark less impactful... so perhaps some GameRule where only once a player has entered the Deep Dark the Catalysts become "Awakened"
I feel like making an smp or a series and placing one of these and seeing how long it takes before people notice and how they take care of it
It would be cool if the skulk only glowed in the dark/ at night as well as it could overtake trees/plants and you should try give all skulk mobs cool corrupt textures aswell as when the skulk mobs attack you, they infect you and you need a cure or else you will slowly convert to a skulk player, aswell as it would be cool if the catalysts spawned below 0 in the dark area and the longer your world goes on, the more time the catalyst has to go through all the cave systems until it reaches and begins infecting the surface which then makes it harder to exterminate and to the catalyst - then maybe giving way to a new armour OR a potion that gives you a invisibility to skulk creatures for a certain period of time allowing you to go into the skulk caves and destroy the catalyst? JUST SEEMS PRETTY COOL

This would be a cool idea like trying to see how long you can last without getting infected by the sculk it reminds me of one of my favorite mods bacteria where you can set a block and activate backteria will eat or replace it with the block pretty cool!

Imagine this as a skyblock biome. Given like half a chunk to start on with others about. But you've got to get to them before the skulk takes over. Or a warden comes when you're unprepared.

The power to ascend through the sculk ceiling is similar to the ascension ability on TOTK. I want a mod to have the ability to ascend through any ceiling.
turning this into a 1.19 mod would be pretty neat
it would be interesting to see a battle between normal players and sculk players, each group starts in their own area of the world, normal players have to exterminate the sculk, sculk players have to kill off the normal players (normal players are in hardcore)
You should make it a bit less frail and give it like five hearts. Also you should make a potion that turns you back into a player again and all mobs won’t attack unless you hurt them.
I would like to recommend new flowers like the wither roses and you could make new types of dye to add more variety

Now I want a survival world where they have to survive as a distant skulk block starts spreading to the whole world, starting to corrupt the mobs and such around it. Maybe even the trees and crops start to have negative effects.

Really feel like Mojang should take inspiration from this. Have like a infection system and stuff. But yk their to lazy to do such things. They would rather make bees and stupid “cute” mobs then actually threats.

You should add a sculk effect which is enabled when you're on sculk for too long and this infects the health and hunger bars and the infected parts are n't regenable and when the whole health bar is infected you get sculked 40% of the time and permanently die 60% of the time

This is more what I envisioned with the Sculk, something closer to the tainted biome in Thaumcraft, slowly spreading and taking over the world. I think this would be a lot of fun on a server, seeing who would inevitably take over the world. Any plans on bringing this forward to 1.19?
