Minecraft Survivors VS Sculk Invasion Rematch. Three months ago, I made a mod based on the Deep Dark for the Wild Update showcased in Minecraft Live 2021 where players can actually become similar to the warden, hearing vibrations and seeing movement only! This mod is a unique take on manhunt, with the speed runner / speedrunner or runners need to collect ender eyes through catalysts, and where the hunter assassins are part of the deep dark sculk. You guys enjoyed the first match we had so we decided to do a rematch, this time around with proximity chat and sound physics so it's even more intense, thrilling and unpredictable!
PS: The fact this video released a few days after the 1.19 Deep Dark experimental snapshot is pretty funny and a coincidence, given it was a long time coming.

Imagine the potential this would have as an SMP style sorta thing. But with it being less of a manhunt, and the skulk sorta just being there to cause tension.

This is fire, but it reminded me of the “how many kindergarteners could you fight at once” question, because while the skulk deal like .5 hearts and die in 1-2 hits, they can respawn and keep on coming.

Because of the Sculk team being able to hear the dynamic voice chat, this one didn't have the cool tricks like using the noise makers or eggs... the Sculk team pretty much knew exactly where they were the whole time (at least that's how it feels) and there wasn't a lot of sneaking around... The Sculk guys showed up, they battled, and then they died. That's it. The first video was a lot more entertaining because of this.
Maybe that's partially just because we didn't get to see the Sculk pov in this one.

Suggestion: keep the same idea just replace the current catalyst in the mod with a new sculk block like the sculk impetus, so that it is different from the normal catalyst when it comes out in 1.19.
Just an idea tho, love the mod anyway so much fun!
I'm going to model a skulk impetus in blockbench. It will be similar in shape to a skulk shrieker but it will have a skulk eye in the middle.

add the warden as smth playable, it moves slowly, hits like a truck, and theres a rare chance a player could respawn as it. only 1 person could be the warden at a time but it does alot of damage

Probably wanna adjust the fuckin sonic boom laser's behavior because in a player's hands thats just a gun, even with a cooldown, but it'd be neat, probably require enough time and/or Sculk Hunters

@@565studios2 If you mean 30%, sure, but as a reminder, the Warden has 500 HP, thats 250 Hearts, 3 Hearts is uhh, Dying Range
@@syrelian yes I meant 30%, though I highly doubt they'd make it have 500 HEARTS, especially if it can teleport to the catalyst like the sculks
in the mod I mean, I'm fully aware the actual warden has 500 hp

like it's a great mod but *nerve wracking* to play o.o
I love how simple voice chat and sound physics are becoming staples.
If you win by entering the end, that makes it seem like a safe haven, so what if you made a version of this where the skulk are attacking the end and you have to survive a specific amount of waves

you should've put the effect blindness as constant when you become one with the skulk after death to really fit the dark theme for the update
you should've made it so the skulk trackers can't break the more valuable blocks like Enchanting tables or Diamond Ore, just stuff like stone, dirt, wood, etc.
This gotta be the best manhunt based gamemode I've watched. Gotta give creds for the well made plugins.

The way it ended was pretty cool and dramatic, just you and your teammate facing an onslaught of sculk monsters making a mad dash through a stronghold to find a portal.
the a hat in time music you used in the background is actually really fitting with the atmosphere of this mod
The last few minutes of the video had me on edge, my heart was pumping like crazy

I know this is a year old but it would also be interesting if all entities that aren't sculk monsters are invisible unless they make sound, and what sculk players see is unclear until the entity makes enough noise. It would put survivors on the same playing level since they can create player decoys and sneak away undetected the same way they can infinitely respawn and basically reverse spawn-camp players
bruh I've been using opera for a while and I didn't know they had the music on the side. this honestly made my life a lot easier

Every since my iron craze I always check at least one or two places in every direction of an ore
Love the darkest dungeon soundtrack in the video. Really fits the theme of fighting otherwordly horror.
Add more skulk mobs. Like skulk crawlers for when a spider dies. Brutes for Iron golems if that comes up. Teleporters for ender men. And more!
Imagine if doctor4t added the warden as a boss sculker monster :P

Idea: when a sculk dies it drops a shard and you use that shard to create your own infection to fight the sculk

Sculk armour allows you to camouflage against the warden and other sculk entities and they can be created by the sculk players putting on any armour
You could really improve on this mod by adding a clicking mechanic, where the skulk player wont detect any changes in the landscape, say if someone placed a block they dont know until they use something like the wardens or a bats echolocation. I think that would be a great idea

we need the player aspects of this as an Origins mod pls (aside the "cant hold items" thingy) it would be a great addition to SMPs and honestly I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanna try this in Survival etc.
Imagine if skulks could emote to the survivors while still being unable to talk
In vanilla, I have it were catalysts are we're mobs spawn, then it kills them. Maybe you could make a unique mob that dose that on death, so you want to avoid them. I mean, you seem to be very risky, and if something was like that, it would add caution.
An easy navigation trick I use is planks
Place one on the ground, and the side with the dark line is south

buffs for both parties that i would like to propose so both parties have a chance/better time
the sculk Trackers have a permanent speed boost until the number of sculk trackers and survivor are equal OR that the number of survivors is lower
the last survivor (or the 2 last survivors) gain a pemanent absorption effect 8 temporary hearts that are lost once they are emptied (or 4 if the effect activate when)

You should make it so that in the End cities you'll find an item that cures infected players but it has a slow recharge period.

you should make a hunter or the only one who can see survivors and if they die its harder to find them where the hunters get cords every 10min

Feels like the moment you were able to one shot them with diamond sword it was over. Even with all of them, there would be enough time between spawns that it would be impossible for them to win.
