Had trouble with a kimber slide conversion , found magazines actually Rub on the bottom of the slide a little bit . Dressed the tops of the magazines very slightly and it went 100 percent . Now I love this gun it's accurate and reliable it wants 40 grain round nose high velocity only
I fixed my failure to feed buy removing a little bit of the plastic from the magazine in the rear corners where the rim of the brass casing touches. Rounds would just sit stuck in the magazine and not pop up to load no matter how many times I racked the slide. Also only use cci mini mag high velocity 40 grain coated ammo
I have this same pistol. The slide and barrel seem to stick again each other. I've had the barrel polished. It still fails to FEED. A LOT. I'm trying to sell it...
4/6/24 I recently had the problem. And started sanding all the internal parts inside the magazine. Now it pushes up the ammo all the way and feeds great now. It’s like the plastic had some burrs in it that needed sanding.
I had to try several types of ammo before I ran some CCI 40g 1200 fps tactical ammo throughit. It rarely has any issues as long as I'm feeding it the CCI Tac. Sounds like you've done everything short of having it blessed...send it to Kimber and see what they say. It's a fun and accurate gun and Kimber makes us pay for their products, I'd give them a chance to make it work. Best of luck to you...
I have an older one, that I bought used over a decade ago. It came with a steel magazine, runs flawlessly with a large variety of hv ammo, have it on a Rock Island frame
My K is an absolute gem. It is a needle driver. Talk about reliable, it eats all brands of ammo, subsonic through supersonic, any weight. Grouping at 50 metres with stingers is just over 1/2 inch indoors and 3/4 outdoors. Most accurate rounds are by Fiocchi. Maintenance is easy. If you still have the gun get it to K. Their service is first rate and knowledge of their product is amazingly high, as expected. Sometimes followers in mags are troublesome and with a simple tweak can function perfectly.
Make sure NOTHING touches that slide shile shooting. On mine I found even a slight touch of a digit would take enough inertia off the slide to make the pistol fail to function. I also had bought some of the german made magazines, to help add a little heft and found they were not well formed in the lips and prone to cause feeding issues. Now I use strictly Pro Mags and or OEM poly magazines. Those both work perfectly in my Kimber. To get some aditional ballast in the pistol I added a stainless Mag Well. I Installed rosewood grip panels and inset some 1/16" sheel lead in the grip panel recesses. Now it feel much better ballanced. Broke in the pistol by cycling the action perhaps 7 to 8 hundred times so as to get that super light slide to run completely free and smoothe. My result was a well balanced pistol that cycles perfectly. Truth be told mine ran pretty well right from the start. The issues I did have mostly came from my grip impinging on the slide. I first noticed that quirk when I tried using the slide release. The gun would fail to go into battery most of the time I played with the release. That light little slide is super susceptible to being deflected. What you are relating makes me think yours is at least partly (though not all) a problem with the slide being slightly bound up. Sorry to hear of the problems. I think Kimber simply tried to make the pistol too light when they really did not need to at all.
The pistol was traded, the new owner did try the spring and was not successful. Have not heard an update from there. Every gun manufacturer can drop a lemon, look for a video in the week or so of the Lone Wolf. It developed a fun button. Thanks for the view, UGD
I own one: it works 100%. Never had a problem on a diet of CCI. I'm no expert, but I suspect that something is wrong with the spring. I am completely satisfied with mine, best .22 ever to train for .45.
Looks like all the ammo was HV, did you try any standard velocity ammo? I know Kimber recommends HV but clearly that didn't work in this pistol so maybe time to go a different direction. I hope the one I put on layaway today runs! Price on it was $435, not the deal yours was but it at least comes with a Colt steel magazine in addition to the Kimber plastic one.
Closest was the Blazer. The Kimber will run for you, I'm sure mine was made on a Friday 15 minutes before quitin time :) They are so well built, I'm sure Kimber would have fixed, but a buddy offered to take it off my hands. Keep in touch I would like to know how it runs for you. Thanks for the view.
I posted on Rimfire Central about the pistol, one response was that it didn't start to run right until after 300+ rounds. After that he said that there was about one in 500 rounds with a problem. I picked up mine today, haven't fired it yet, but I did put a few drops of CLP on the slide and am cycling the action to lap the surfaces to each other. I vary the pressure up and down, side to side. A few evenings of this should smooth things out. I have a good selection of ammo, I'm sure it will find something it likes. I hope you survive the UA-cam firearms purge, that sucks.
Gun feel great in the hands. Ammo makes the difference. We ran 700 rounds of Winchester Steel Case 9mm in HK, Glock, Sig and Smiths, we got to work on clearing guns on all makes. Good luck with the Kimber, keep me updated.
@@usedgundude1035 3ducs here with a new account. My pistol wouldn't run, used a variety of ammo. I sent it to Kimber, turns out it was a kinked slide spring, now it is reliable.
My results were worse than yours. First with CCI Minimags in Kimber magazine, could not get it to fire ANY rounds consecutively. Tried them in Colt mags, could not get rounds to chamber. Tried CCI SV, no better results in either mags. I did get it to fire two consecutive rounds of CCI Stingers a couple of times, but that's the best it would do. Tried Remington Goldens just as bad. What a disappointment! I will contact Kimber and see if they can make it right. Such a nicely made pistol but it just won't run.
Sorry to hear that my man. Good luck. I sent a Lone Wolf Compact factory build in last week. Every manufacturer can get it wrong, hope they make it right.
I want this pistol to run, it looks to be a quality piece. It could be the feed ramp, looks like it could use polishing and radiusing. I could do that but I won't touch it now, I'll give the factory a chance to make it right. I'll clean it again with special attention to the chamber and try again.
I got the pistol back from Kimber today, they replaced the mainspring, no charge. It runs perfectly now on CCI MiniMag and CCI SV. It still won't run with the Colt marked steel mags but I can't fault the pistol for that, I just need to get a few more Kimber mags.
All three, the gun will not run. Mostly Eject and feed but all three happened. The range videos shows all three, with all ammo used. Thanks for pointing out I did not make clear which failures
Sorry to hear that, nothing suks more than having a beautiful gun and it doesn't work correctly but its better you know what a piece of garbage it is now then you needing it 1day and finding out when its to late.. ohh and you got a much better and much more reliable 22 with your M&P 22 I love it no complaints here on that beauty. GLAD YOU WERE ABLE TO GET RID OF THE OTHER HEADACHE....
@@usedgundude1035 you are definitely correct on that people do not realize that 22LR is one of the most dirtiest types of ammunition on the market then plus with it being such a weak round getting it to correctly cycle and eject makes it's very difficult that's why anyone who does shoot 22LR at the range or even a little plinkering in the backyard ((PLEASE ))"only if you live in the country" ALWAYS CLEAN IT AFTERWARDS.... my personal experience is that the cleaner the better it will operate for you Nice video thanks for sharing.. I appreciate it
Interesting review I have two of them Both shoots flawless now But First one had problems just like yours jams all time My cure was using narrow file to make rear bottom of slide radius larger I changed slide pushing spot to hammer higher I figured if slide hit higher part of hammer It will takes less energy to cock hammer Simple laws of leverage It did work well But be careful not to remove too much of metal at once Btw. Second one No problems shoots flawless since new Kimber changed design on later model Good luck 👍🏻

Lighter spring ?
Just thought try changing out the recoil spring for a lighter one. Also try polishing the feed ramp.

Use CCI stinger high velocity ammo and a lighter spring. Should straighten things out.
I bought a GSG that is like that as well. It seems to only eat the Thunderbolts and that's it. If you still have it give it a try and let me know.
It is gone. By far the most disappointing gun we've run. I'll keep the Thunderbolts in mind for the next 22. Thanks Overby, UGD
I got the colt 1911 .22 and no issues
That's not a proper 1911. Only this Kimber is a 22 with the same system as the 1911 in ,45.
It's not uncommon to send it back and tell them it was sold to that way and you want to know why and what can be done about it...? Good luck!
Can you please make more videos about 1911s
I will, I love the platform the only one I've found this year was the STI LS-9. Thanks for the view, UGD

It's time to buy either a Browning Buck Mark or a Ruger. 🤔
Sent mine back 2 times
are you getting failure to feed, or failure to eject, or not go all the home, hammer strike on the 22 too light, no strikes you don't say in video
All three, the gun will not run. Mostly Eject and feed but all three happened. The range videos shows all three, with all ammo used. Thanks for pointing out I did not make clear which failures
Olympic gold finger and Ruger both have zero trouble.

I like your video, but extremely disappointed by your experience. Really wanted one of these. Oh well, I wanted another 45ACP anyway.
Why?? You are just leaving us hanging! It’s not that much to find someone who can sort out n fix whatever is defective!
I have the same issue its giving me the shits.
