Thank you Rabekah, great info and a couple of new shortcuts that I did not know about. I love my AV-30 and would not want to fly without it. The buttons and knob can all be found by touch and the screen is bright and easily legible -- making these adjustments while inflight is very easy.
Well done Rebekah, always insightful. Instead of “old” how about “classic”. ;) For those that think it’s an issue changing things, particularly in turbulence, it’s not bad at all. I’d rather have the dial/push button combo vs. a touch screen that is all the rage these days…as was also mentioned, aside from squawk and selected altitude, most of the settings Rebekah demonstrated are done once on set up, or before flying.
Love the av30 I have in my Cardinal. I was hoping there is a way to keep the barometer setting to only advance 1 digit at a time. I end up having to go back and forth quite a bit trying to dial it in. I only fly at airports witing a 2,000 foot range so my changes are always small. Thanks!
I see a nightmare trying to adjust the unit in flight. Turbulence, having to look away from outside the aircraft while fiddling with tine knobs. The demonstrator is a lady with smaller hands that mine -- I would have an issue with this in flight, just adjusting the same things that she is demonstrating,

Thanks! Still learning these units.
How do you turn on the flight director? And select command bars vs delta symbol?

I use the certified version and the settings she is referring to are mostly done during setup.
Seems pretty complicated
It isn’t that bad. I have two certified versions and we love them.
