DIESE Musik brauchen wir in diesen Zeiten. Sie lässt hörbar und fühlbar werden, wie essentiell wichtig für Heilung die Barmherzigkeit ist. Vielen Dank.

I really appreciate Bach being played romantically with a 19th and 20th century approach! I am not a fan of 18th performance practices! This is so beautiful to my uneducated ears!🎶🎻🎵

Lisa, I wonder if you have read the Gospel portion that inspired Bach to write this heartrending composition? If you have, great. If not, it is Peter's lament at denying Jesus three times and Jesus looking at him...with such love...such sadness...such disappointment?

      +Desiderio Reyso
The violin legend Gidon Kremer said in his "letters to a young pianist":
... "Let's talk again about the success ... In this day and age of mass
rallies and pleasures it will be particularly" looking cool ", to
conform to the popular taste . There would be no such hysteria about
"name" or "stars" would not someone come to mind, that just sold
wonderful! skim off the cream with the "heroes of our time", with those
of classical music, is for a number of companies, managers and promoters
      become more attractive.
So the musicians themselves take part in this game, and justify their
venality in that they "want to carry the classical music to the masses"
.... Can we imagine Orpheus which will enchant you with the sounds of
his (electronically amplified!) Lyra the Olympic Stadium? The adage that
quantity is more important than quality, has poisoned the musical
spirit. The commodity has the music as "goods of the individual use" in
the sidelined. The market has destroyed the personal relationship to the
music. the music is caught under the wheels of seduction. Man serving
other gods, a different understanding of "love". ...
      ..the
days of "swashbuckling boys and beautiful girls" that seduce the
audience, are numbered. They will be soon replaced by ..."second to
none!" praises. Sooner or later you will notice that "the emperor is
naked " is One in the public for the "Superstar" doctorate artist gives
the music presented no additional details. His name, declined,
conjugated, estimated sold, and celebrated for a long time with loud
cheers, ... is forgotten. ... What a great difference between the mere
"servant" of music and their "users"! Just as in the Church between the
true shepherd and the parasitic of the religious habit makers! ...
... "Let us look at: how and who are applauded by the masses?
Foremost today often are the "stars". They are those, who have been able
to "prove" their talents to, contests to win and move up in the ranks
of those who are managers. Music producers of the most promising and
promising "Hopefulss" are counted. The majority of those who at this
Involved process are (including the talent itself), thinks less of the
(Classical or modern) music as to the recognition, in the sense of a
      certain
"Celebrity", which is necessary for the conversion. The concentration on
the "quantity" (the tickets, CDs and tours sold) is a merciless
process. It survived the man whose smile the most convincing acts. It
is consequently also the object of imitation and idolatry.
The name of the pianist Lang Lang (its counterpart in Russia would
probably be Denis Mazujew) urges in this context to formally. The
youthful dynamism is muliplied with the talent, wonderful things on the
keyboard to accomplish and can be the big prize. Who cares in such a
case already about what is played? The main thing is who plays! Boosted
      by the success
Talents begin looking for "sponsors" with the rich and
Flirting powerful, with politicians, with oligarchs, with their peers.
      ... What
All this has to do with the music? Absolutely nothing! Moreover, it
      spreads
a kind of "contamination of the environment" and the soul. Those
overtones, which obliged the musicians (and sometimes capable) to
serve, does not fill the space and remain "empty sounds". And also if
not all admirers of the "Stars" this change immediately notice it but
comes back like a boomerang and destroyed over time, the talent of the
hero and his (former) glory ..... Who the music serves will always
remain true. He will create no other gods.

    • @HarpsichordVinylGallery
      @HarpsichordVinylGallery 9 років тому +8

davehshs Relevant to the music because in the dutch language is said by the publisher AVROTROS that the violinist dedcated this performance of Erbarme dich to the victims of the crashed MH17 flight where many dutch passengers were killed. The perfomance was in the middle of Amsterdam, the capital of The Netherlands. So it would be nice to hear what exactly was said but fortunately AVROTROS included the introduction some days later in another UA-cam publication.
If you don't know what Erbarme dich means please consult google and you might understand that music gets an extra meaning by context. . . .

Jesus saying at the Cross: "Erbarme Dich main Gott um meiner Zähren willen" (Have mercy my God for the sake of my tears) with Jesus totally identified with man in suffering. Jesus, the more human, the more Divine ... amazing beauty!

nice playing, but a lousy video. Seems like every producer/director wants to turn a straightforward music video from focusing on the performers into some kind of VISUAL STATEMENT that really focuses on the "interpretive decisions" of the producer/editor. The result is a distracting, obtrusive, and ultimately unsatisfying video mishmash. At least in the original Woodstock movie (1969), they showed 3 concurrent virtual "screens", where one focused on the performer(s) and the others could show the panoramic views and audience closeups. Viewers could pick what to look at, for the most part. As it should be. After all, we don't see audience members standing up, looking all over the place or walking this way and that.

Weird to hear a vibrato on the oboe, sounds a bit cheesy. The fiddle player is OK , a trifle bland, perhaps afraid of breaking the bow, tempo is a little fast for a piece of this majesty, otherwise, a great concert .
