People are so fragile. Just 30 km/h and this looks like a terrible injury for most passengers. 60 km/h, and many will die, and the driver will literally be crushed, it would be a terrible sight.
30 km/h would be terrible injury only for those people whom are looking for insurance scame money
both are going 30km/h so that's equivalent to a 60km/h crash on a static object, no wonder it would be a mess, but if both buses are going 15km/h passenger should be fine only minor injury
@@djaysenpai No, it doesn't work that way. If two objects crash into each other, the damage cannot be calculated by adding their speeds. If they were both driving at a speed of 30 km/h, then the damage would be as from 30 km/h, not 60.

Buses don’t have crush zones like cars. Crashing large vehicles against their likeness will always be disastrous.
The upper decks of double decker buses don’t even have bumpers. So if it hits a tree or building, or tips over and strikes a kerb at any significant speed, the upper deck just peels open like a tin can.

From my own professional experience, I know that even a simple emergency stop from 20 km/h (~12.5 mph) can cause injuries (bruises, sprains, damaged glasses) to STANDING elementary school children.
This should be shown before every bus trip.

The calculation is (likely) done in center-of-momentum frame rather than rest frame if the programmers know what is good for them, and we assume the two objects are of equal rest mass.
That means the CM sits still relative to the camera, the collision is totally inelastic, and thus all of the energy goes into being "maximally destructive" for any given speed.
@@danmccarron0you’re right, the outcome will be different as the total kinetic energy is twice as high, and that energy needs to go somewhere (i.e. deformation of the busses). That is why it is also not correct to say that two busses going 400km/h is the same as one bus going 800km/h, as kinetic energy works exponential with speed, so from 400 to 800 it will be far more than double the energy.

First about nomenclature, you mean *quadratic* (x^2) not *exponential* (a^x)
Energy in the classical limit is quadratic in velocity (v^2) not exponential (e^v). It's a minor point but the nomenclature is standard worldwide.

In terms of what happens to the busses in a completely inelastic collision, that's actually completely wrong. The energy imparted to the destruction/deformation of the busses is identical in both cases.
The only difference is the combined mass of the busses will be end up as a stationary pile of junk in a head-on collision in the laboratory frame (i.e. what you and I see sitting there), and in the case where one bus is twice as fast and the other is stationary, the combined wreck will move in the direction of the faster bus with exactly half the speed. That motion is where the remaining energy ends up.
This MUST be true. In both cases an observer in the center-of-momentum frame sees two busses hurtling toward each other at 400km/hr. In the first case this CM frame is stationary with respect to you, and in the second case the CM frame moves at 400km/hr in same direction as the moving bus.
The physics is necessarily the same in all inertial frames no matter what. If you put an indestructible camera on *any* of the busses, in *either* situation, it "thinks" it is stationary and that there is a bus coming at it at 800km/hr. The end result cannot depend on where you put that camera.

As colisões frontais geralmente acontecem com dois veículos com velocidade próxima aos 90 km/h, aqui no Brasil. E a maioria das vezes é um ônibus com um caminhão.

Desconozco si este muchacho está tomando en cuenta la sumatoria de velocidades contrarias, aunque por la velocidad a la que se movían los vehículos me dice que no, pero el choque a 30km/h en realidad sería a 60km/h porque ambos bus iban en direcciones opuestas sumando de esta manera su velocidad de choque, así que todas las velocidades se multiplican x2 a excepción de la de 800 y 1200km/h porque uno de los dos bus está estático y no en movimiento. Llegando a la conclusión que los choques vistos al principio realmente son a 60, 120, 200, y 800km/h siendo el de 800km/h indicado en en el tag idéntico al de 400km/s (el choque es diferente porque el estado, ángulo de coche y la pared influyen de manera diferente en la simulación)

Even the simulation agrees that a bus going at 1200 kmh is preposterous, and breaks down.
I think beam ng on very high speeds is unrealistic. Its both about crashes, car behavour, control, traction etc. The buses would just explode on 1200 kmh with no left a shit from them.

At 5:19 in the 1200 kph crash, i thought that the long black steel bar going out of the bus ball was the drive shaft of one of the 2 buses, that the shock was so violent it kept straight and it's inertia and stabbed trough the vehicle like a sword. Actually it's just a glitch and Beamng drive don't include this
