Blackie, I really enjoy your videos. You have a gift in teaching and explaining and I have learned a lot from you. Thanks so much! Excited for the next parts in this overnighter. God bless!
Brother can I just tell you what a joy it is when mrs. Blackie comments on my videos .I am absolutely honored that she watches man you both are just absolute gold! You guys are seriously two of my favorite people in this whole UA-cam community
Hi Blackie, greeting from Australia 🇦🇺 thank you for your time to make these videos. Love the set up . Have to learn about hammock camping, I do ground pounding all the time, getting to silver wolves, have to change due to medical problems, thank you for all you do.
Greetings Blackie- You have your ducks in a row and ready for sure. Its good to have some extra feature comforts and camp in style. In other words- work smart, not hard. That nighthawk sack seems to hold quite a bit of stuff and I agree that you should have some sort of protection even if the odds are extremely low. Thanks for this video and look forward to seeing part 2 this Sunday.
I would love to see Crouch and you do a live Thursday like you did last night with Bear. I liked this video because it was instructive and held my attention to the very last second. Looking forward to Sunday's part 2. P.S. I have made the quick deploy toggled ridge standard equipment in my kit. It works slicker than eel snot and hangs a MARPAT tarp to perfection. Lastly, Thanks for all your effort and time to educate the more outdoor illiterate. [pointing at myself] I am 67 and still learning. Beats the Nursing home anytime!
“ my very first pistol was a cap and ball Colt. Shoot as fast as lightning, but it blowed a lot of smoke. Blowed a lot of smoke, I soon found out; it’ll get you into trouble, but it can’t get you out.” - Steve Earl
Hey Blackie! would you like to tell us sth about your Bracelet. I find it interesting and I wish to know if you wear it out of functional reasons. nice Videos. go on
MINE is made from a bronze grounding rod you get at the hardware store to ground a electrical wire box..i wear it to help my wrist it was crushed when i was 9 and i feel it help my arthritis
Looking forward to part 2. The toys we carry is half the fun! Sidearm carry is always a factor in the woods, and depending on the circumstances it can be anything from fun to serious. Some spots I go to is thick with bears and cougar sightings are not uncommon. Rattlers are always an issue. For this scenario I carry a Ruger sp101 in .357 with 2 rounds of snakeshot followed by 3 rounds of xtreme penetrator. When I’m in less bear infested areas I carry a Cimarron SAA clone in 38 with mostly snakeshot and maybe a couple of heavy hitting rounds at the tail end. I carry this in an Old El Paso saddlery holster on a suede gunbelt modeled after John Wayne’s that he used in a lot of his movies. If you’re going to carry it make it fun!
Blackie, Great Video and Outstanding Information. Thanks for sharing. I Greatly Appreciate You showing all the gear. We go to the woods to smooth it and get Recharged. Being a Silver Wolves I Appreciate You giving us your time and knowledge and wisdom and experience and passing on the Craft. God Bless You and Mrs. Blackie. Tim L.
What kind of hammock would you recommend a 250lbs guy? I have a 5th wheel but Im bored and tired of the expense. I have a large area of wooded stateland near by in which I would like to start getting back into. But I need to be able to sleep off the ground. Please advise.
Knowing how the grayl functions, im not entirely sure i would trust that to be secure just free hanging like that. Maybe fine for a short haul i guess like couple 100 yards from the car.... but anything longer i just feel like the motion would cause suction failure by working those seals.
Boy Scout motto. Be Prepared …. Now did you get Mres from kaufmans ? And I sent an email asking a question about a small problem I encountered this past weekend … sent it to your downanddirty email .. I would love to hear your opinion on the issue .. thanks Ken

I'm an avid muzzleloader hunter but got a revolver and after having several caps misfire and fragment into the cylinder, I made it a wall hanger.
sorry to hear that i have used them as field guns since the 1970's and yes they can be a learning curve but i trully enjoy mine in the field
Blackie, will you be at the Pathfinder Gathering next weekend? :)

nope its solid once you push it closed you will have to pull it apart with force
