I can't believe it. At the very beginning I thought "Man, there is NO WAY that it'll work", but the end effect just blew my mind! If it was me, I would've given up halfway, not satisfied with the effects. Several times it got to the point it looked really good and I thought "Now, any more than this will spoil it" but you went and added more, touched it up and it looked even better! Seriously I loved the video and the way you were just having fun with it. So inspiring! I am going to start my own journal now! And I will never not stop halfway anymore!
Totally, but I find that with MOST art journal videos LOL. At various points I think.... aww they RUINED it... or Oh no, that was a huge mistake, what the heck are they doing? But then it all looks great at the end :)
I love your page and I adored seeing your little sons foot in the shot from time to time. Thank you for sharing I love your style, "let's see what works, perfect!"
This was amazing to watch! I'm brand new to all of this. Painting and stuff like that. I have done journaling all my life and kept them all...doodled in all of them and taped pictures in or copied quotes, whatever inspired me at the time. The last one was 2006! I've held on to all of them since 1989. Now that I'm mostly bedbound and housebound from illness and disability, I have struggled a lot trying to find something to pass the sleepless nights. This has been such an amazing experience. But I get more caught up in what everyone else is doing! Just like another girl commented, I myself didn't think this would work at first. You definitely showed how layering truly gets the job done and there's no perfect way (even holding a baby you can make it work) and you're only finished when YOU decide you're finished and happy with it. Thank you so much for filming this! I am definitely a new subscriber and can't wait to check out your other videos. I was absolutely blown away by this project. It turned out beautiful and was so fun to watch! I have filled up and even added a bunch of pages to my first journal that isn't done yet by any means but I have surprised myself by how fat it's become. I also use Archer and Olive dot journals and have a black page one I thought I'd go through faster than this one. Goes to show!
So neat! The baby was a nice surprise!💙! And, you are the Bomb Mom....workin' with one hand & all! But, what really blew my mind, (besides your tenacity when things weren't working), was how the blue Inca Gold made it truly look like a galaxy.😮 The transparency was perfect. It was slightly opaque, but still allowed the stars to shine through. I really, really love it! Tyfs💙💙💙
omg i didnt even know i said this?? i was completely unfiltered and had no manners when i was 16 im rly rly sorry that was disrespectful to ask and assume
I loved watching your process and especially that you were inspired by your son. I admire how you persevere at night, son in one hand, doing one-handed art!!! You are an inspiration!
you are an inspiration. I loved drawing as a child and preteen but then left it behind and never really thought about it again. I am now 52 and am falling in live with journals. i have aleays loved the idea of journals but until recently i only thought of them for writing but with the new art journals and altered books and composition books I am finally realizing I can get back to being artistic with my journals. I know it is not as easy as you make it look but even after all the other people i have watched you are the only one that has inspired me to actually try to painting and not just gluing paper to pages.
this inspires me t o keep making art! sometimes i give up in the middle of a piece but this is so lovely! i have to think that in anything somebody creates there must be art.
I love how you sometimes refer to you and your baby as we when youre glueing down the pictures even though you're the one doing all the work. It's so adorable how much you love your little baby
Respect for the mother holding her baby in one hand and doing art with the other. I would probably scrapbook my baby lol I love your starry book pages! Your child is going to be awesomely artistic! ^_______^
I love the spontaneity of mixed media art journaling. It's something that's very hard for me, personally, to do in traditional art. That's why I admire artists like you who do this sort of thing. Love that you were inspired by your son's words. Your baby really scared me when his cute little head popped up on screen all of a sudden XDDD
Try as I might, I’ve never been able to wrap my mind around multimedia art journaling, but this video gave me several “ah-ha” moments. Thank you for explaining each step, and what thoughts you had, but not really an overall plan. How you worked thru “happy accidents” and just kept trying different (and the same) techniques with different materials. Very helpful and peaceful to watch. Thank you!
Yesterday I just fund your channel and I spend half day to see your work... All is amazing. I don't have see someone to do journal like you... Just love it
I really didnt see how this was going to come together but it looked fantastic in the end and a beautiful way to capture the memories of your boy. And wow, holding baby as well! Thanks for sharing. #multitaskingmomma
this is my first time watching your work. i love it. i have a eight myth old. it gets hard to create. my nine year old loves it always had my baby is starting to not cry when she sees me grab a sheet of paper or paint brush lol,i love what the kids say.you are great. thank you for your time.
You are an artist...thank you. I’m new sub. Have been doing art journals for many years mostly with my thoughts, prayers, quotes, drawings... Very fulfilling. Love your ideas.
At first I was like, what is this all about. As the process goes by, I started to get blown away. And the result, is just insane! This is awesome! Great work!
This video made me realize I want to teach art to kids. I just finished teaching a JA class at a local school and had so much fun but not enough to want to get my degree. But THIS is awesome! You made such simple processes into a complete work of art! Just fabulous. Thank you!
Great pages. It was hard to imagine how each step was going to get to this final spread because each new layer seemed to alter it so much but you did a fabulous job. Love the inspiration quote. This will be a treasure for you son one day!
Use Scotch-Brite scouring pad or fine steel wool to rub the glossy paper. Taking a little shine off the paper will help the 'rub-ons' work better. Nice series for use to learn from your experience [and some of your surprises. ;+(... ] Thank you
This is absolutely amazing, I never would've thought that it would turn out how it did judging by the initial paint you lay down on the page initially. It's so beautiful!
I love your work. I kind of have OCPD. So whenever I draw I always have to have the paint perfectly lined up, but art doesn't work that way. Some things just have to have a "messy" look to it and that's what make art so special. Art is everywhere and everybody can be an artist.
I love how you just went with the mistakes. Art is about working through the mistakes to find the beauty in them. It turned out great!
I can't believe it. At the very beginning I thought "Man, there is NO WAY that it'll work", but the end effect just blew my mind! If it was me, I would've given up halfway, not satisfied with the effects. Elea Lion omg same
Elea Lion literally same 😂😂😂
Banana Peel oh hey Brendon
literally what I thought throughout the whole video!
Elea Lion that's literally what I thought throughout this whole video I had like a lot of mixed emotions and I was very confused
There's something so refreshing about how careless you are with it! Great job it looks amazing!!!
yes! my perfectionist-self has a hard time doing it, so this gives me hope that I can
At first I thought this was going to be a mess but BOI I WAS WRONG. This is fantastic, inspirational an cute af. Im going to subscribe.
me too!!!
Totally, but I find that with MOST art journal videos LOL. At various points I think.... aww they RUINED it... or Oh no, that was a huge mistake, what the heck are they doing? But then it all looks great at the end :)
I am very thankful to you because you cleared my misconception that everything had to be perfect. You really reflected the true meaning of art.
the baby made me smile so hard. how precious

Spectacular! Thank you for sharing 😊
I bet your son will end up being an artist just because you held him and made this. It's bound to make a favorable impression on him!
Ramona Gaston if I could give him one gift it would be creativity 😊
I don't know if he's getting more creative, but it looks like he's having loads of fun !
Ramona Gaston did she have an unplanned pregnancy or... because shes pretty young
@@mimi-iy7jv That's awfully rude to say.
omg i didnt even know i said this?? i was completely unfiltered and had no manners when i was 16 im rly rly sorry that was disrespectful to ask and assume
I love the way you just jump right in without the useless boring preamble so many other artists torture me with - Great tutorial - thanks so much.

I loved watching your process and especially that you were inspired by your son. I admire how you persevere at night, son in one hand, doing one-handed art!!! You are an inspiration!
Thank you for sharing the process. I love it. Really like how you are honest in whether things work and don’t work. The end result is amazing.

Lol
Just GLORIOUS! I’m going to make one for my daughter’s 50th birthday!

thank you for being transparent...and for confirming my palette these days of color and paper coming together. keep it up.
Thank you!
its beautiful!
but that little foot at about 9 minutes.... I hope you know that that one handed glue job is the most inspirational part of the process!
Really enjoyed how you put this altogether. I look forward to each episode. Thank you for sharing little peaks into your life. Awesome work.

i'm on UA-cam searching for motivation and luckily, i stumbled here. love your videos!
If you want to do stars, try with a toothbrush, for me it always works and the results are really amazing!!
Maria Bonafont thanks! I will try next time!
