I have been loving this deck for the same reasons you state: the court cards make more sense. And the guidebook is phenomenal. Truly empowering and healing. I will keep working with it for a long time.
After some of the imaginative and really like **thoughtful** recastings of the court cards in decks like this, I feel a little disappointed when I get to a deck that **doesn't** 🤣 the gentle tarot has one of my absolute favourite renamings, it makes so much sense and I love movement away from the nobility/very gendered names.
The Gentle Tarot is my favorite by far! I use this deck for nurturing and self-care because it is so compassionate and loving. The big guidebook is a most! I could not imagine my life without this deck. Inhave the standard version and the pocket size. They have different purposes and they work so well with a variety of oracle decks. It's my go-to when I need a hug from my higher self and the Universe. ❤❤❤ And Mari is an angel for real!!
Oh that cloth and bag is beeootiful omg!! I love. I'm waiting for my copy of the Gentle Tarot to arrive. It just cleared customs. I'm so excited to use it. I feel like I need this deck! I think it will be my number one deck. Neat way to use tarot and oracle. I like it. The colours in the Gentle Tarot are just so beautiful. I think together the cards will be gorgeous in a spread. You make some really great observations.
I have the aqua version of that exact journal cover. That’s how I deck pairings - energy. I don’t tend to think about matching art styles as how does one deck’s voice illuminate the others? I will admit, though, that I do find is aesthetically satisfying if the two decks are the same size. (Less satisfying when I put the wrong card back in the wrong box. 😂) I haven’t tried that pairing yet. Definitely for next month, for whichever challenge is the most shadowy.
I am so happy you love this deck I knew you would. I love love this deck and using it with YOUR book ! It is so healing nourrishing and more more. I will order a second copy I connot be left with it. I also love to pair it with the spirit animal oracle from CBR... talking about Mari's guide book she is doing a big book to go with the gentle tarot... this as replace my Mary el in my bag !

I love the two pocket bag and cloth 😍. I really love the seeds of Shakti Oracle, the chakra spreads are soo good. I have not tried pairing the gentle tarot. I need to get on that.
I love to hear you gush about working with a guidebook and validating that as a practice! Guidebooks - especially ones like the one for this deck - are an important part of the way I read tarot for myself. But I can sometimes doubt that practice because everywhere you hear “throw the guidebook away”. I know that usually refers to the lwb and is meant to encourage tapping into one’s own intuition. But I do think there’s a place for working with these wonderful guidebooks that are being written.
I totally agree!!! Working WITH the guidebooks completely transformed the way I read for myself as well!! One of the reasons I enjoy having and working with a variety of different decks is that each guidebook has it's own voice just as the art choices in each deck also create a 'voice'!! Without both of those variants, I feel like my collection would feel homogenous.
I worked with these two decks last month too! I’m so glad I picked up the Reclaim Oracle after your walkthrough. I feel you when you said you were sad to move on this month. My plan is to continue to use Reclaim this month to check in on how I’m feeling and I’m going old school with the borderless RWS for Lionheart’s July Challenge. But if I miss the Gentle Tarot too much I’m busting it out again 🤣

This tarot deck is way out of reach for me in Ireland. Between the cost of the deck, the VAT, and the shipping costs it would be over €100! I hope it becomes mass produced at some point because it looks lovely. Other than that, thank you for sharing your practice, it is something I will try for sure!
