For a good center punch without needing too much pressure, we would look at #113912. www.riogrande.com/product/automatic-center-punch-3-34/113912GP/?code=113912
Can anyone give me contact details for the designer and manufacturers of the Microfold Brake? I'd like to contact the makers of this tool to see if they will quote to make a much bigger version of this machine for a significantly bigger corrugation, bigger thicker sheets etc. Riogrande say on their website that it is made in India. I've written to them and am awaiting a reply.
Why was the piece rivteted on and not soldered? Was that just the designer's choice or is there some issue with soldering such a thin gauge (30 as I recall) of metal?
Hi mariemeyer, all of the above really, it was a design choice and much easier to rivet than to solder. It could have been soldered, it’s just a little more difficult to do so. Thank you for watching. Mark N Tech
Hi PetersProjects. We typically will not give out vendor information, But if you wish to give us a call or email us with specifics of what you are looking for we can look into getting it for you via special order. Another option is to contact a local machinist to see if they would be willing to make it for you. I know here in Albuquerque NM there are quite a few garage machinists that love to do side jobs. I hope this is of some help. Mark N Tech
Where did you get your punch? I’ve been looking for a good, small one. Found something on Amazon but it really sucks.
