Well, I just wanted to come to this video to say that I passed my Security+ exam this morning (8/18/2023)! I used your videos and did some practice exams on ExamCompass. That's it! As of today, I now have my CompTIA Trifecta, so thank you so much, Professor, for all you've done. My own roadmap now is to go for the CCNA and then get an AWS Cloud cert. We're all going to make it!
congrats!! i know everyone time will vary, but how long did you study for before you took the test?
I took 6 weeks for the Sec+, a month and a half each for the two A+ exams, and 3 months for the Net+ @@dinerooju
congrats to you! Would you say that the questions from ExamCompass are the same or similar to the actual exam?
Congratz bro, I'll be in your boat soon
Congratulations !!!🍾🎊🎈🎉 your message gives me hope. Thank you for sharing!
I just passed my security + exam 770, and I am grateful to your resources 🎉
Anything you can share would be super helpful. I will be taking mine soon, & wanted to know what helped you pepare
@@anthonyobiyan1605 PDF and practice exams
How long did studying take you???
Wait, what? Are you saying SY0-601 doesn't exist anymore and is now Sec + Exam 770?
@@Ghost_Unknown_Fade_Away_ No he's saying he scored a 770. That threw me off a little bit too lol
Just passed Sec+ today with an 802! Thanks Professor for an extremely helpful series. You’re awesome!
Congratulations, and thanks for your support!
@@professormesser Thank you!
Other than the vids what else did you use? I have the get certified get ahead book but self teaching is kinda difficult.
@@sticknewtune i also used the ExamCram ebook and the PearsonVue quizzes and practice tests that came along with it!
I PASSED MY SECURITY + exam today because of you. Thank you for all the resources you provided. The practice tests and notes book helped so much ❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Mr. Professor,
Yesterday I passed my sec+! Your content provides students with adequate material to succeed. Thank you for your efforts!
How has it been since then? Have you had any issues finding work, or did you get your cert as a requirment from your employer?
Professor, I just passed my Net+ today thanks in a large part to you. I cannot thank you enough.
I’m currently studying for my A+ exam. A bit tedious but the knowledge I’m gaining is amazing. I came here to check out a quick snippet of what the Sec+ material will be like (I’ll be going for Sec+ as soon as I finish A+) and I’ve got to say I truly feel confident that the material I need to pass my exams and land my first career change job in IT is right around the corner. So In advance.. thanks professor. What an awesome thing you are doing here!
How’s it going?
Passed my Net+ and Sec+ first time round thanks to you, keep up the good work Prof you’re a legend 👍
If you dont mind me asking what were your best practices.
@@Gex4212 no worries! I printed off exam objectives and did a tiny note next to each summarising what it was while going through prof messers videos, that way I had a 8 page handbook rather than 1000s of notes. Then used Jason Dion’s practice exams on Udemy, practiced those til my scores were 85%+ then took the exam. Hope this helps!
@@tones933 This definitely helps more than you know it and I greatly appreciate.
@@Gex4212 Good luck!
@@tones933 did you use a book as well?
Ty so much! I just passed my sec+ exam thanks to these videos and practice test! Now on to CCNA
@ProfessorMesser, thanks for the educational tools! A+ and Network + obtained. Going for the Security + in September. Once again thanks!
Hello Professor, I have attained my A+, Net+, and Sec+ (two hours ago) via your videos! Thank you so much! Now, who can I view to complete the infrastructure certs? Any advice?
Do you think you can go straight to security + and pick it up before A+ and net+?
@@austinmitchell2746 prob no
@@jkohutiak why don't you think?
@@austinmitchell2746 You can. With A+ and Net+ you will have an easier time grasping certain concepts(which appear in those 2 certs, just not as developed), but if you already have enough computing knowledge and you're feeling confident, there's nothing stopping you from going straight for Sec+.
@@fhujf thank you man I really appreciate it!!
Taking my exam at the end of
summer! Perfect timing!!! Thank you Professor Messer.
i realize Im kinda off topic but does anyone know a good site to watch new tv shows online?
Starting my career change to jump into information security today! Feeling a little overwhelmed but moreso excited! I'm definitely hoping into Sec+ first, thanks for the course!
Great, quick & informative.
Going to use these videos to help me study. Ill check back in once I comlpete the cert. Thanks Professor
Thanks, Professor. Amazing content.
Hello professor, Thanks a lot for the videos.
I want to ask, are the Course notes same as what is shown in your videos?
Thanks again.
Thanks for your video 👍
Thanks Professor Messer!
"like" every video you watched that way you know which ones you already watched (if not watching the play list)
You are the best. 👌
Thanks for the great info!
Thank you professor!
Thank you Professor!
This is really useful thanks
I have my A+ already, and finally, after 13 years and too many applications to count sent without callbacks, a helpdesk job. However since all of my focus has been getting into the industry, I'm not sure where to go with certs from here, but due to pressure from colleagues, feel like I should have had a solid career path outlined. Is it even ok that I just want to stay with helpdesk for a while? Do I need to have a cert plan laid out like my colleagues do? I'm just trying to get acclimated to the job and learn it well so that is my priority. 🤷🏽♂️
Thanks!
Thanks for your support!
Question, is your audio files just the vids in audio version? or the notes in audio version?
Perfect time to post this. Thank you @professormesser
I am going to try to get an internship for some sort of IT related job during my first or second year in college, if I pass this going into my first year will I be in a good position to get one by then? The only prior experience I have is working for 2 years at some restaurant and I want to get a good start into my career; do you have any tips on what I should do?
I was struggling to decide after network+ to go for CCNA or Security+...
But since I work in security and I have job in SOC I decided networking with CCNA is not maybe best for my choice, and security is kind of a safe and well paid industry.
I think I will stick with CompTIA because when I acquired my Network+ in combination with A+ I seen CompTIA awards u with stackable CIOS certificates so that is more motIVation for me to not change Certification Vendors.
And after 3 years I will only need one exam to re-certify.
Which is a problem when u mix to many different cert Vendors.
I will say go for the Security+ since you are working in SOC. Later on, if you want to go more into Cybersecurity with an emphasis on Penetration Testing, the CCNA will be a good addition because pentesting has networking as the underlying foundation so having a solid understanding of networking sets you up well. Also, you can add Linux+, Python, Scripting, Active Directory, and web.
Thank you!
Very nice❤
but if we use the POST method in PHP then also we don't get the actual link, it seems malicious but it was not. Then can you elaborate more on ways to identify fake links.
What are some good entry level jobs into cybersecurity analyst? Would I be able to get an analyst job with this cert or would I probably need experience in a different position first? Thanks for any responses.
Try CySA+ (Cyber Security Analyst) . With CySA+ you will get chances for Cyber Analyst or SOC I.
But Sec+ and a degree in IT, general, would be a huge PLUS.
Thanks🙂🙂🙂
What’s the difference between pretexting and vishing?
@@AnthonyBerryman-sc3ew Awesome, makes 100% more sense. I appreciate the clarification!!!
@@AnthonyBerryman-sc3ew thanks!
@@AnthonyBerryman-sc3ew btw i have a question! should i write everything thats on the video down or just the important ones?
@@AnthonyBerryman-sc3ew hmm got u thanks bud!!!
I helped design Cybersecurity Equipment for Globalhawk family UAV's similar to the UAV in the video. They still make use take Comptia exams.....
What's the best way to study for the labs to pass
2:28 bruh I fell for that even though I knew it was in a presentation about phishing...
do i need my A+ in order to get my sec+ some people have told me theres no point in the A+ and i should just pursue sec+ thoughts anyone?
i would suggest just going for sec+. A+ will not impress the interviewer/company but sec+ will definitely open doors for you everywhere. good luck on your endeavors :)
@@brysonsims5752 But don't you need IT experience in the first place, like help desk role? So getting an A+ is reccomended?
@@jgsource552 I landed a Help Desk role without an A+ cert. I just had the knowledge and that was enough.
@@brysonsims5752 Really... how?? What did you even include in your resume to prove that you had the knowledge? Cause I am pretty sure they don't just give anyone the chance to do even the interview without something like a cert or degree.
@@brysonsims5752 Can you answer JGsource’s question on what you put for your resume.
I want to learn but im not good in IT. Im wormdering if i should still try
attention i just want to pursue cybersec as career can this playlist good and solid start for me?
Yes, good place to start
How can get good job in the USA after passing the A+, sec+ exams? Is there any help please?
You will be able to get a good paying entry-level job with these certificates, but it's up to you to acquire more information, better your skills, and get as much experience as possible so you can qualify for higher positions.
(Indeed) post your resume there
Hi I'm a colder I know a lot about URL 's because I read them poorly for my job
