I love static shots cuz instead of the camera moving the frame your eyes move within the image especially with how you compose the scene with color, light, depth and so on and you definitely are a master at it! I can sit here for 3 hours staring at a frame you composed and I’d be in awe.
Been trying to absorb as much as I can on UA-cam because I’m studying business rather than being in film school. I just filmed my face under water(?) with a previous tutorial you made. The rizz at 5:40 tho. Thank you for sharing your wisdom!
Love the tracking shot how it ends up in front of the skateboarder, but also your static shots are so great because you have the actor moving through the frame, in from one side and out from the other
I think there’s more to not moving the camera. I remember my first film teacher asked us to make a 30 second film with a begging middle and end and every shot had to be locked off. It was hard but it really put an emphasis on the art of framing and blocking. People get too obsessed with ‘cinematic movement’ and don’t think about whether or not they should move the camera for the sake of the narrative
I could make a full video on static shots and actually said a lot more about it in this video but cut it out. I love the art of a static shot if you watch other videos I think you’d see that
Weird to see u outside of 4:3 :D but still amazing looks and especially ur "example"-shots..just insane I wanna start this year with filming and this will help me allot, so thx in advance :)
Dude, I do not know why you don"t have more followers. Dude, your vids are crazy generically stunning. And I just wanted to tell you that I just stumbled into your channel.
Very helpful vid on when camera motion makes sense or not. What a tip on Tracking the skateboarder, first following, then alongside, then frontal! I had a mental image of the videographer fast enough to pull that off in one take. 🤣 And not end up in the hospital! 🤣 I'll be trying that one using 3 takes, or more likely in my case. 9 takes. 😄Love your philosophy and artistic approach- the proof is in the beautiful results.
i am not sure when it was the last time i have seen a video with 4002 likes and 0 dislikes ... just want to mention it because i guess this is something special ...
your talent it’s absurd, Vuhlandes! I love your content. one thing that sometimes doesn’t allow me to do my best it’s equipment beyond the tripod. whats the name of this one that makes this “slide” effect? I also would love any recommendation for something to make the quality of video static while I’m moving it. The tracking shot gives an amazing effect, but when I try to do it, I dont feel my video “static” while I’m moving. do you have any tips? greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
lol completely off topic and somewhat unnecessary but I was genuinely surprised when I realized this dude was black...lol proud moment right now... whats poppin my brother glad to have found your channel

The colors are so legit in that opening scene, maybe a video on how your color correct and grade would be good

These videos are so impressive

letting a static shot hold just a little longer than usual adds a lot of weight to a scene, really digging that feel right now
This guy is amazing. Love his communication skills in explaining. Would go on his course he did a face to face.
You are truly inspiring! Thanks for sharing your gifts with the world.

either moving or static shots are all about framing and composition. I think this are cinematic movements because they are basic standard movements...
We got the same assignment at my film school.
I love your wide shots, it's definitely a look I strive for.
