This is such a brilliant emotionally complex scene. You want to feel happy for Wendy but also can’t help but feel sad for her since it’s all one big illusion.
It’s an illusion either way. Women expect too much emotional support from men, who usually have no idea what to say. If Stan actually wrote something back to Wendy it likely wouldn’t be genuine anyways. I know I say fake shit to my wife to make her happy.
@@kirate96 are you female or are you a kid? Every guy has to say fake stuff to their girl from time to time so that they feel better. It's just how it is. It's perfectly normal and has always happened
Wendy knows how I feel...or at least that Raisins episode. When all roads lead to no-win situations, do you embrace despair or pursue the illusion of hope? Here, the illusion is obvious.
I like how Wendy reacts to her chatgpt messages, it’s heartwarming to see her overjoyed. Also the song was beautiful, it was as if Wendy and Stan were singing an operatic duet.
That song is so damn perfect for this montage. Pure genius. Almost every episode seems like a masterpiece. One of the smartest shows on TV and definitely the funniest.
Same. I thought it was gonna happen too. I mean, it happened when they first got back together in the ending of that Season 11 episode, but I’m surprised it didn’t happen in this episode. But don’t worry. Let’s hope it’ll happen again in future episodes.
The last time Wendy kissed Stan was in "Elementary School Musical" and he didn't vomit anymore since "The List". The animation kinda proves that's the last time he'll vomit on her.
I want to see Wendy happy too, but not like this and imagine how betrayed she'll feel once she finds out and she will find out!💔 Omg how did I become so invested in a fictional character!🙃🤪
This was such a hard episode to watch in the best way. Stan cutting corners and his actions having consequences was satisfying and also gut wrenching to watch
People really are bending over backwards and staying in that gray area, to absolve Stan of any wrong doings. Or at least make it seem not that bad. He is absolutely not doing a good thing here. The defensive argument of “he’s 10, he’s just a kid, and communication is not his strong suit” is to downplay how bad the act of lying to your significant other is. Not to mention, perpetuating an aspect of your relationship that isn’t real yet letting your significant other continue to believe that. Anyone defending that or downplaying that, I hope your GF/BFs dont experience that.
@@steverogers7601 Stans always been a terrible boyfriend, I actually just watched the cock magic episode again recently where he trashed the volleyball team in front on Wendy but doesn’t even realize she’s the captain. On top of that, even when I watched her play, he’s just on the phone wondering about the cock magic game. I’m not saying it’s not entertaining, but holy shit Stan is nowhere close to a good boyfriend.
At least Stan’s trying to find ways how to make this relationship with Wendy work out in the end. Plus he really doesn’t want to lose her, they’ve broken up recently and it’s heartwarming to see them struggle to get back together.
@@MrNel Not really? We're kinda watching Wendy think Stan actually opened up to her, while in reality he doesn't seem to give a fuck... I think it's pretty heart-breaking
Stan does care about Wendy. He’s just having a difficult time coming to terms with controlling his own sensibilities like how Kyle isn’t his best friend anymore.
Why feel bad for her? It seems she doesn't really want a human connection, she just wants automatic replies to whatever inane nonsense she thinks up, look how utterly happy she is by rote automatic replies, she'd have continued to be happy if she'd never found out it was just an algorithm. She didn't want a boyfriend, she wanted a trained seal to bark any time she said hi.
@@BDNeon Shes 10, bud. Theres layers of ugliness to this, in classic South Park fashion. A ten year old doesn't know what kind of connection she wants. Stan has 0 engagement whatsoever, hence playing video games or shooting hoops, he shoots a GPT without even breaking his concentration on the shot. Its icy and ingenuine. On top of that is the incredibly sad and deeply disturbing fact this girl is basically being groomed by the AI through her smartphone. She's head over heels for these texts coming from what is for better or worse a catfish through her phone. There's an emotional vulnerability here that is so easy to manipulate, and as I mentioned, Wendy is a child. The choice of song here is not only poignant, its scathing. Cyrano is a tragedy about a fake man using another insecure persons words to pretend to be something hes not, while the insecure one gets to live vicariously through someone else. In the end, it falls apart. One of them dies, and the other lives his life trying to keep his secret, and moments before he passes away, finds out that if hed just spoken genuinely to Roxanne she would have taken him despite his insecurities. I see nothing comforting or warm or tender about this. This is classic backhanded South Park...which is why we love it, but viewers should remember...this is South Park.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park, have been entertaining audiences with their satirical and irreverent humor since the show's debut in 1997. Over the years, they have tackled a wide range of controversial and taboo subjects, from politics and religion to social issues and pop culture. Despite the show's often controversial content, Trey and Matt have managed to maintain a loyal fan base by being unapologetically themselves. They have never shied away from pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo, often using humor as a tool to address serious issues in a way that is both thought-provoking and entertaining. One of the keys to their success is their ability to stay current and relevant. They are masters at turning current events and pop culture trends into hilarious and memorable episodes. Whether it's spoofing a popular movie or poking fun at a political figure, they always manage to find a fresh angle that keeps viewers engaged and entertained. Another reason for their success is their willingness to take risks. They are not afraid to tackle controversial subjects and take on powerful institutions, even when it means facing criticism or backlash. This fearlessness has earned them respect from both fans and critics, and has helped them to maintain their creative integrity over the years. But perhaps the most important factor in their success is their chemistry as a creative team. Trey and Matt have been working together for over two decades, and their partnership is an integral part of the show's DNA. They complement each other's strengths and weaknesses, and are able to collaborate in a way that brings out the best in each other's work. In short, Trey Parker and Matt Stone are a creative force to be reckoned with. Their ability to stay fresh and relevant, take risks, and work together seamlessly has made South Park one of the most successful and beloved shows in television history. And with no signs of slowing down, fans can look forward to many more years of irreverent, hilarious, and thought-provoking entertainment from these two talented creators.
I like how South Park has gone back to its original roots like Stan and Wendy being in a relationship again and Garrison back as a teacher as well as storyline per episode. But I like how it is mixed with today's world such as basing episodes on recent events or technology.
I dont think stan likes wendy like he used to, like, half of those texts he thumbed up were really easy to answer and yet he still didnt take his time to write back. I wished the creators just left them off as friends which seems like the direction their taking it to but then again idk

Yeah. Alhough, not weeks, but couple of months ago, which is a lot of time in the current AI world. The progress in AI right now is hard to comprehend and react to. Minor detail: The song in the montage is part of a play called "Cyrano", in which a man who is seen as hideous ghostwrites poems for somebody else to send to his love. You can see the correlations here.
I was pleasantly surprised by how cleverly South Park tackled the topic of ChatGPT and its potential risks in their latest episode. @@olamidealabi6419 Add to that the aspect of automatism. He knows every little motion in and out, not having to look which app or message to redirect to anymore. Communication has become an afterthought for him.
God, it hurts to see how in love Wendy is when Stan is literally using AI generated responses, not even reading them through before he sends. Like, it'd be one thing to use the app to get a clue on how to reply, then do so in his own words, but this...
I completely understand where you're coming from. It's heartbreaking to watch Wendy fall for someone who isn't even putting in the effort to have a genuine, authentic conversation with her. It's important for any relationship to be built on honesty and open communication, and the fact that Stan is relying solely on an AI system to talk to Wendy is a red flag. Hopefully, Wendy will eventually realize that she deserves someone who treats her with respect and actually wants to invest time and effort into getting to know her as a person.
I'm so glad Smartphones didn't exist when I was in school. The constant demand to answer texts would drive me insane and people like Wendy take it personally if you don't answer in 10 seconds.
Me too. We managed perfectly well with public pay phones, or the school secretary would always phone or let you use their phone if necessary. All you see is people glued to their phones in the street, nearly walking into you, or narrowly missing cars, I refuse to have a smartphone, just a basic one for texts and calls and even that annoys me.
Wendy doesn't care that he didn't answer in 10 seconds lmao, if you watch the ep she was texting bro for days straight and he would never respond; just give her a thumbs up emoji. She even gave her condolences on Randy getting shot in the last ep, only to get left on read again and met with a thumbs up emoji lmao. Stan's bogus either way you cut it old man
Since no one actually saw the film the song is from- in the story/song an attractive guy who can't write well has the more talented main character ghostwrite love letters to the woman he is trying to court. Brilliant usage here. The film is Cryano and is based on an 1800s play.
He's doing this because he does care. The problem with stan is he has a very hard time communicating with girls and more specifically Wendy. Hopefully we'll get to a point where he's passed that. Seems like in the Covid Returns future, he actually has an easier time communicating in the end.

It’s not like he doesn’t have the emotional intelligence, but most people just don’t want to deal with such stupid bs 24/7, gf or not. One of my relatives like to spam “x things you don’t know that are toxic” or “y things that blow your mind” articles in the family chat, and we all just respectfully ignore her most of the time, including her own husband and kids. @@falcontomto I understand that it can be challenging to deal with someone who consistently shares information like that. From an artistic perspective, the shot of Wendy sitting on the window with the night to her back was really well done.
I love that to i hope South Park does that again soon
This is such a heartfelt moment and I feel bad for Wendy because Stan isn't caring about her text and just using AI to do whatever
Ich habe Wendy noch nie so glücklich gesehen

No they do sometimes
I like how South Park has gone back to its original roots like Stan and Wendy being in a relationship again and Garrison back as a teacher as well as storyline per episode.
But I like how it is mixed with today's world such as basing episodes on recent events or technology.
