At 6:45 when the crest of one wave and the trough of the other wave pass each other it forms a node. So why is it that at 8:30 it is the anti-node that's formed when the trough and crest meet pass each other? Shouldn't they had been switched?
At 6:45, we see the waves moving, and a node forms where the waves are always opposite (not crest on trough but there are moments of crest on trough). 8:30 is a fixed representation of these moving waves. Look carefully, it is consistent.
Absolutely, however, when traveling in the same direction, the speeds would generally be the same so we just get a moving disturbance, whereas if they travel in opposite directions, we get an oscillating pattern, and if the frequencies are the same we get the oscillating standing wave pattern.
The superposition of two sound waves, Im having trouble visualising this, if I had a tuning fork and stuck it, then struck it again with a 180° phase difference in time, would there be no sound produced? Or am.i thinking about this the wrong way?
@@donerphysics hmm!! idk cuz when i look at the video description i only see the link to the worksheets u created!! could u share me the link or something!!
It is not in the video description. There is a large JOIN button (white with blue text) below the banner or below any video.. Perhaps it looks different using a phone app rather than a PC but it should be quite visible.
@@donerphysics Sir im so sorry for bothering u continuously!! Below your video im only finding the description of membership lvls, not the joining option. Im from islamabad (Pakistan)and i think this membership feature isnt available in every region. I do have a paypal account and i often use patreon for my channel memberships, anyhow your other videos are still relevant and help me tremendously, thank you so much for helping me in my ib journey, u will always have my prayers!!!!
It is not a bother...I am glad to know this. Apparently memberships are only available in the following countries. (Channel memberships are currently available to eligible creators in the following locations: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Latvia, Lebanon, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Oman, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay, Vietnam.) Hands downs the best IB physics resource on the internet, and I've used a lot
You are literally saving my physics ib scores. I get good grades thanks to your videos. thank you so much
Great to hear!
An actual legend.
You are a great teacher. God bless u
Really helpful, thank you!
It's amazing! Thank you so much!
Very good. Many thanks Sir. :)
thank a lot for this amazing video
Glad you liked it!
Thank you so much! You're a great teacher
Very nice to hear. Thank you.
Thank you for the wonderful video !
You are a superb teacher!
I suggest you make a website of teaching physics something like Khan Academy
Very helpful
Glad you think so!

@@donerphysics Oh I get it now thanks!!
Can constructive and destructive interference apply to BOTH waves travelling in opposite directions and waves travelling in the same direction?
Absolutely, however, when traveling in the same direction, the speeds would generally be the same so we just get a moving disturbance, whereas if they travel in opposite directions, we get an oscillating pattern, and if the frequencies are the same we get the oscillating standing wave pattern.
@@donerphysics Does that mean there is no speed considering the crest are not moving in the standing wave? Thus no velocity?
The waves have their individual speed in a standing wave pattern, but the "pattern" does not move.

Theoretically correct, but the forks would quickly begin to resonate and the phase difference would disappear.
yes that makes sense thank you:)
im trying to become a lvl1 member where all videos are organized but i cant find where to subscribe??? patreon is much easier
There should be a join button below any video, and from here you should be given choices for the level of membership. Thanks for your support.
