I’ll give y’all another tip. In gunfights don’t just stare at the opposing player, focus your eyes on the sights (iron sights or optic reticle) and try to keep your sights on the target. This is something real shooters use and it made my long range accuracy so much better

This one vid has BY FAR helped my game more than anything else I've ever come across in all the years I've been playing COD!! It's been less than a week since I started the drills and I admit that I've went overboard with my routine, but I'm seeing results so fast already. I created some drills for myself in the shooting range which include shooting from all positions including mounted. At first try I didn't think I could even drop the farthest target with my fennec, now I'm able to drop it consistently. For the first time I practiced strafing and yesterday I used strafing to get 3 longshots against snipers who were shooting back. I'm also recording my games now and critiquing them. Despite me thinking I was centering ok, replays were showing me having a bad habit of always centering on the ground in front of me. I also noticed that I run into blind corners in high traffic areas, giving someone a kill on a silver platter. Also, I've noticed during playback that mounted is king - if I get into a gunfight with someone and we both shoot at the same time, if he's mounted his gun and I'm not then I die. So practicing mounted shooting is now also in my routine. Now I'm an average player at best, but ordinarily even less than that. But last night in Shipment I got 57 kills with 23 deaths. That may mean nothing to many of you but to me that would normally be unheard of. I'm not expecting to become an amazing player but I do have a goal to stop getting killed in situations where I should have lived, like shooting first and ending up dying anyway. I'm actually quite stoked about the results I've been seeing so far and I never would have made the connection between doing drills and playing if it wasn't for this vid.

Great tutorial! Another thing to mention is target prioritization. You breach a door and find yourself up against two enemies. Your crosshair immediately falls on the one that's directly across the room looking out a window. But just to the right is the other enemy and he's already lining up on you. It can take practice to force yourself to pull off of the easy kill first and prioritize the greater threat - the enemy who's rifle is pointed at you. It may sound simple, but this can be a tough one.

You might as well get the easy kill and trade bc if someone is to the right, it takes more time to turn and shoot, then it does to just shoot straight ahead immediately and trade before dying.

You've made a really nice breakdown on how to practice your aiming skills. I also like that you've emphasized on the "slow is precise, precise is fast" method. As someone who plays CoD since the days of CoD 4 and MW2, let me throw some of my experience into the ring here:
    - First and foremost: If your sensitivity isn't set to very high or very low, avoid switching it around. You'll only adapt to your dps if it's a constant, so changing it can drastically worsen your precision.
    - Get comfortable with your loadout and the maps you're playing on, find what works best for you first.
    - Practice is key, but time off is king. Just like with irl workout, you shouldn't overstress your skills by playing every day for weeks and months without end. Instead, take some time off after a while of playing, this works especially well in CoD. Think of a chart that displays time and average skill. In the first weeks/months, your skill will increase, but you'll hit a wall after a while. You'll notice that you've reached this wall the moment you get frustrated that you don't improve any more. So take some time off of CoD, for me it was always something like 2-3 weeks, maybe even longer, just do something else. When you hop back on, you'll start slightly below where you left, but once you're warmed up with the game again, you'll most definitely improve beyond your previous threshold. Do this over and over, and over time, your skills will improve and things will feel more and more natural to you. Trust me, I've done this since 2012.
    - Keep an eye on your surroundings in matches, learn which routes players pick and where the hotspots on your map are throughout the match. Use this information for your aim drills and intentionally aim at the hotspots, also practice counter rotation routes.
    - Implement a fixed hour of practice on one day of the week that fits your personal schedule best, stick to it and commit to that hour of practice. Your consistency will directly influence your abilities in CoD, even if you'll take a longer break after a while.
    - Apart from crosshair placement, there's always a chance that someone catches you offguard. To counter this, you should learn how to flick precisely. Best is to practice with bots to improve at this.
    - Also for those who are more experienced, but seem to be inconsistent or lack motivation to perform better in matches: Set some goals on what to achieve, e.g. x amount of kills with a certain weapon that you don't usually use. My own favourite for this is to build off-meta guns and/or stuff that you'd see irl. This keeps things fresh and also grants you to become more experienced with more or less random weapons. The more off-meta the weapon is, the better you have to be yourself to make it work.

I’m an older gamer in my upper 40s with minimal twitchy reflexes, so aiming has become a really important skill. After watching this video (multiple times), I’ve done daily sessions with these drills, combining them in different ways. While I found my passive aim was ok, the biggest change came when I learned to control my recoil. After a few days I’m already noticing a difference in my gameplay. Went from 0.8-1.0 in games to close to 2.0, and set a new personal best of a 15 kill streak, which was unthinkable before. The SBMM is starting to take notice, though, but that’s okay because I know my skill is objectively better after applying this vid.

Holy shit. Im only 1/3 of the way in and already know this is what my aim needed. Actual drills. The 'follow the bot' drill is so good. If you can track the bot well, you will def get bet bc you dont get aim assist with friendlies. This video is gonna be my training bible. Thank you.
Update: im actually realizing how bad i am. I cant even door strafe wtf. Thank you so much for this video. Back to training.
Update #2: I did the first 2 drills for 15 min cuz i have little time to play and i came 2nd place with 10 kills. Thats my pr. Every gunfight felt way easier but because its not muscle memory yet, i fell off in subsequent games. He said it in the video. Perfect practice makes perfect. Im doing this for 45 min prior to gaming every time i get on to play.
Update#3: I have since had 2 wins with both games over 8 kills. This works. When i first started, i had to deop my sense to 3. My ai was better but u was just a tad slow to snap onto people so i would have to be absolutely sure where they were. I stuck with it for a week and changed it today to 4. I am snapping on people easier now and my shots feel true. I think i will start to turn aa off in my practices now. This helps people. 1/2hr-45 min before the game sesh.

Something really helpful for good aiming mechanics Is shooting bots on a small map like shipment but turn your ADS multiplier up by 1% from what it usually is on 250 health. You’ll see improvement fast. Focus on using your left stick for smaller adjustments

I'm realizing how bad I am too. It's scary! I also realized something I never realized before. When you try to keep your crosshair centered while moving left/right, the right thumb movement is different. If you move left, you need to PULL your stick to the right. If you move right, you have to PUSH the stick. I'm way more accurate at pushing than pulling. Same applies to tracking a moving enemy. If they move from right to left, I don't have huge problems following them. If it's the other way around and I have to pull my thumbstick, I screw up a lot.

Thank u for all the helpful comments. I practiced for 1/2hr and only did the first 2 drills cuz i was itching to play. I came second place with my pr, 10 kills and came second because of my own mistake. Gonna do this list for 1hr before i play. This has been more helpful than any other guide out there, for me. I do not need any more aiming tips and tricks. Its exactly what i was looking for. It kinda like aim labs for controller.

Another good "tracking drill" would be like shipment or a map with objects you can trace the outline of. Start a game w/ no enemy bots and just move around the map tracing the shipping containers as you go, then try to snap to the nearest outer line of the next container etc. You could find some big pattern on a wall in DMZ somewhere too I"m sure and move around while keeping "center tracing".

I feel like one thing to note is that your sensitivity is much fast when not aiming them it is when aiming. So if a person is able to run out of your peripheral then it’s probably better to let go of aim for a split second to be able to turn fast enough to hit the target again
Especially in point blank situations or when you’re near corners or entryways

Beautiful touch this is the stuff you had to pay for years back. One I was told was increasing your sensitivity for 30 mins and just stick at it then turn it back down to your normal sensitivity and see how much easier it feels to control your aim on your settings.

Smart man. Good advice. Thanks: will work on these in dmz. Since I play it often.
Everyone should work on FPS if you can. This is an massive help… faster fps and smoother game play is the foundation for all of your skills.
Lower your quality settings and see how much easier it is.
Sometimes you don’t even notice that your game play is not smooth due to the graphics engine trying to smooth it out.
You can be skipping frames and don’t even know it.
Snipping is also another one I have Ben practicing and it’s Greta practice in dmz.

man one thing i've noticed about cod games, mainly the more recent ones on infinity ward's engine, is that it can get really hard to tell what you're looking at (especially with mwii) - either that or i'm going blind
also you did a very good job with the editing :)
