Hey guys I hope you've been enjoying these talking videos If you have done do me a huge favour, and leave a like on this video it's free & shows me you're enjoying it, Thank you.
Get 120 necromancy and let the dream of sailing as a skill completely die. It's ridiculous with this divination archeology invention necromancer stuff. And nothing else out there.
I feel like one thing that makes power creep more of a problem is the lack of challenging end game bosses they seem to be too focused on mid mid game content sure we got the coliseum recently but outside of that and inferno everything just gets deleted with how strong we are they need to add content that matches our power I would love a boss that isn't inside a raid that makes me think oh shit this is actually difficult that is NOT a wave based thing
A great discussion video, I have to strongly disagree with the points on the boots though. The upgrade isn't just the stats, the ability to combine them into BiS hybrid boots which are also BiS for all styles is absolutely massive, you're saving inv spaces, you're having less swaps too. It's pretty huge.
Taking advantage of elemental weaknesses is an awesome way to implement new BIS for certain encounters without making old gear devalue imo.
these videos are so chill
Hey Tom
Just wanna say how happy I am seeing you healthy. I remember you having a diabetes scare like two or three years ago.
I remember talking in chat about kfc and how amazing it is and seeing you transform really makes me happy and motivated.
Keep crushing it both content wise and your personal life-wise. Love it
Thank you man. I'm happy to say I am no longer Diabetic as of late last year :) UK Kfc will always slap though ahah
awesome! congrats
@@RaikesyYTyou buying mate
@@RaikesyYT Mate, do not come to Australia then... Kfc is a serious problem over here
@parko3327 my fiance is from the commonwealth of Dominica and says the same thing that KFC is absolutely amazing back home compared to here in the US.
This puts the casual american viewer in the british vibes. Gloomy, rainy, british stroll lol
Feels a lot like Oregon to me lol
9:50 An upgraded Chaos gauntlet would be good, maybe less stats as tormented bracelet but have it increased damage for like wave and/or surge spells which helps with the elemental damage.
I think its acceptable in cases like this when they are releasing endgame content. No one wants to do endgame content for mid tier loot.
Agreed. Especially when there is still no vampire boss that drops and upgrade for blisterwood flail that you combine with a zenyte and enchant for an actual vampire hunter weapon. Maybe pay father abot like 10m to bless it? Maybe give it charges? Make it have a chance to shoot a holy bolt on hit? How about the vampire boss drops a full armor set. Make it a solo boss spectacle where people can watch in the audience and you go through waves until you face the boss
@@Csm1231 RIGHT LIKE THANK YOU. Vamp questline NEEDS to be finished this year, SOTF was too good
The shadow is just so busted that they can’t really give a really great magic reward without making shadow way stronger
Love this out for a stroll format with random UK B-roll
the issue is how 1-dimentional gear design got around when torva came out.
every piece of gear now is just +2 over the last, jagex never adds interesting effects to gear anymore even tho with echo gear they proved they could do it.
they could do gear that reduces freeze timer by 2 ticks, or gear that makes ancients AoE bigger or ranged attacks hit farther, or even some tanky robes but instead nope, +2 damage.
It's wild they dont experiment more with alternate effects to gear than they do now. I get that osrs is supposed to be a "simple" mmo but restricting every piece of gear to a statstick means you only have the option of useless side grades, which will inevitably be obsolete because their niche just isn't that large (justi), or tiny incremental stat changes over time that don't get people excited to do the content they release
When was gear design ever not one dimensional? If anything they’ve recently been experimenting with more effect based gear like Virtus, soulreaper axe, noxious hally, and now the new demonbane aegis weapon.
I could watch 100 of these walking videos
Fax.
its almost as good as actually walking but fuck that
"This is reputedly the real Jack
& Jill well. It is situated on
Kilmersdon Hill near Radock
in England and as one of the
numerous stories go Jack and
Jill went up the hill in 1592 and
Jack was struck on the head by
a stray boulder from a nearby
quarry killing him instantly and
he rolled down the hill. Jill died shortly
afterwards of a broken heart."
It would be cool if they added a unique effect to the amulet such as your magic level would never go down if you drink a brew, or every edible food item heals an extra +2 hp so anglers heal 24, brews at 99 heal 18 each does.
Its not an easy question to answer, when new items come into the game there is always a fine line on which to balance it on. The way of upgrading previous BIS items to become new BIS is a good format that doesn't put parts of the game into a situation of it being dead content. Anything coming into the game that creates a big increase on power should be behind something that is a challenge - For example inferno cape. If power creep does become a thing there is always the damage cap like on Zulrah to consider.
Edit: the other thing about nerfing gear, it kinda makes it easier for new items to enter and still minimise the creep with it
Agreed, they need to balance weapons by adding a damage% or accuracy% to monsters instead of just sticking attack/strength stats to an item. That way giving items variety to use whether it be pking, bossing etc. You can add a weapon with similar stats to the whip, but it'll be better by adding a dmg/accuracy% to monsters and similar stats to whip to pk for example.
Absolutely the best kind of videos to pop up at 5 AM on a Sunday, no lies.
Also: I'm the dog. The stick is daily videos or streams.
When will we get a BIS slash armour and BIS stab armour like inquisitors? Seems like this would be a good place for stab since we are getting the two hit stab weapon
it would be dead on arrival like inq since torva is just better.
People seemingly always forget this, but the way gear works in osrs/pre-eoc is part of what led to eoc. Osrs was *always* going to run into that same issue because it did nothing to address it. It's why new gear is going to either be a side grade, barely better than what already exists, nerf existing weapons or a niche weapon/armor type. The limitation is with how gear and stats work in the old system.
MORE WALKING/OUTDOOR RAMBLES PLEASE. If you do I will like and comment on EVERY video mate
I heckin love this "walk with me" video. That trail you walked reminded me so much of where I lived.
I do find it odd to pull so much of your damage back, just to give it back in a drip feed type way no more than 6 months later. Kinda defeats the purpose of even knee cappin us in the first place. Maybe they should be trying to find more unique ways to alter some play styles in combat without doing the whole EoC way? Idk.
Loving the new format videos man, keep it up!
Virtus in my eyes is the perfect direction to go for new items. Make them just barely weaker than the main BiS, but give it a cool secondary effect that can make it outshine the BiS in certain situations. Power doesn't need to go up, I'd be very happy with getting items that are barely behind torva/masori/ancestral but with set/secondary effects.
I'd also love to see set effects that aren't helm+body+legs, like maybe body+legs+amulet/gloves/boots so it can work with a slayer helm, especially if it's an effect that works better on killing a lot of monsters in a rapid succession (like slayer tasks).
The Devs are ultimately hamstrung by hitpoints. It's a matter of time before they start releasing rewards that boost hitpoints higher.
would be legit badass if they add an upgrade to justi that gives you more HP
theres no reason for them not to.
combining multiple items into 1 mega item is currently my favorite gear buff in OSRS.
They are currently missing the shields and i was hoping for the wilderness wards to be fused sometime soon.
Otherwise you can have items that fill a certain nieche. Imagine a chinchompa or a staff with no additional magic dmg bonus BUT it has no AOE Target restriction so you can, if you want barrage 20+ targets at once.
Also think a good reward could be adding scroll or something where you can imbue your ring with explores ring or ring of wealth or endurance ring
If it’s truly aimed at high tier, take the boot concept and drop a non-tradeable item that lets maxed players combine the top end game armors. Make it rare, make it extremely challenging. Could even have it be locked behind Jad/zuk helm reqs too. Or add tier 90 armor/weapons unique to osrs, lots of options!
I’ve played since Phats dropped. Jagex has progressed immensely and just needs to start catering to the higher tier players more as well as keeping up the mid tier content.
Jagex has a huge problem: Raikesy has discovered a love for vlogging and walking outside
I love the idea that Bandos still has value with Torva, simularly to how Arma has value with Masori. I was thinking some from of attachment for weapons that give melee & range "elemental" buffs, like an infernal Whip or an "Air" bow. As you said, they have all this creativity to make content, the drops are just a bit meh. No one is getting exicited about a still nerfed occult or a BIS? boot drop... If we follow the basis of them nerfing items to then boost them in a patch a year later it also gets a bit obvious what the drops are going to be, no doubt we'll have a Osmumten's fang "buff" from something soon...
they're adding streak rewards to OSRS
welcome to RS3 content
honestly the best way they did it was for Toa, they reused items, they made items that are best in slot to do the content with and they should look to large new content to introduce new best in slots to chase i.e raids
These videos and the areas you get to walk set the scene, also kmow pretty much exatly where. Keep up the content mate 🤙🤙
This video isn't shot in black and white- Raikesy Is just in rural English winter countryside
Not gonna lie I stopped watching your videos a while back. Not sure why but I just noticed the content wasn’t as interesting. But I’ve watched every single one of these walking videos from start to finish and I love them.
Why is it always "more power more power more power" instead of making items like the zuk helm. Add stuff that people have to overcome with skill & unique ways of playing the game and lock a new item or items after that content that shows off what stuff you have overcome instead of always farming a boss over n over again untill it finally drops something.
They could start bringing out earthbane, icebane, Frost knives etc.Would open up alot of design space as you could make pretty cool animations with those kinds of weapons. Depends how people would feel about using elemental style weapons for everything though. I. think elemental weapons would be cool, I don't know about elemental armour.
I wish someone would take the RS formula of long horizontal and short vertical progression and slap it in a generic arthurian, tongue-in-cheek mmo wherein all the hindsight benefits are ingrained and the outlook is on a 30 year timeline. There is so much legacy to RS that can never be modified that it just holds the game back, while paradoxically destroying its own legacy formula with a myopic vision to progress and grow.
OSRS is actually stupid good if you think about it. I just don’t want that to be ruined is all. All the props in the world to the team that has worked on this game so far though. At least from me.
My prediction is the meta is gonna be to just clear wave 8 and restart. Also as someone who lives in Arizona I’m so jealous of the scenery you have around you 😢
I DESPISE the OSRS boss culture that has emerged over the game's lifespan. I hate stuff that makes me look at my screen, it doesn't feel like Runescape to me. Click boss, click food, get drop is what actual old Runescape was. I know based on Reddit most people prefer OSRS bosses rather than 2007style bosses, but having to click in real time and do "platforming" and dodge stuff is fundamentally misaligned with what Runescape is supposed to be TO ME. I didn't realize Nex was a classically styled boss, maybe I'll try it out!
the first couple pieces of end game content they came out with came with wayyyyyy too many rewards.. cox for example. its like they diddnt ever see themselves coming out with as difficult or end game type of content ever again so they threw 15 amazing rewards at one piece of content. kind of stupid, then you have something like nightmare, great content but absolute shit rewards.
Another idea, BIS heavy ranged weapon that uses dragon javs, im sure community can pitch many ideas.
Definitely prefer slow incremental progression. I want them to respect the huge time investment we put into the game. That said, end game content should have good rewards. I think the boots are halfway there. They need to continue with the rebalance project to open up the reward space.
Ever since the survey apocalypse event a few weeks ago; I just can't find a desire to log back in. I feel how I did back when they came out with EOC. Complete betrayal; stab wounds in the back suck. I literally JUST want to enjoy and love this game; they keep fuckin ruining the trust of their community... :( Maybe Mod Pip is the problem.............................................
imagine doing the inferno 3x for the chance to get a infernal cape that gives 2 max hits but when you die once in 3 runs you have to do it all over again lol take me to prison already.
I loved this type of video. It looks like a fantastically peaceful walk
I was thinking that a good idea could be to include an untradeable token that grants you a slight extra chance at megarares in any of the raids or along those lines
I lost weight watching this video while i sat on the toilet, this is good content
That’s one nice kitty you got there Mr raikesy
Im maxing my account today.:) 450k slayer xp left
Slayer as your last skill.. sus 👀
Walking with raikesy part 2 lets go
Can we please jesus get a powered staff that sits between teh sang and shadow in dmg output? Its crazy to me that everything but the shadow giga sucks for maging
Love these types of videos
Can I recommend a pair of gloves, slightly better then barrows gloves that allows you to wear 2 rings? Seems appropriate for this level of difficulty.
I hope hope hope they are listening to us on this and they hit the brakes on this content. Please regroup and figure out some decent rewards so this content isn’t dead on release.
I agree with everything being said. However HOT TAKE, I wonder if they're considering PvP and its functionality? (Not a PvPer, but I am also looking at this update from their side which is rare for me). Characters only have 99 HP you know? I can already hear the screams of PvM'ers in wildy about how every freeze is caught and or dealing more and more damage. (also, IDGAF, I'm not a noob and I can defend myself in wildy).
bro looks like hes walking around lumbridge castle or somthing, awesome looking area. cheerio ol chap
Genuinely love this ramble out in nature
The boots are a step in the wrong direction. It leaves no room for future design space of the boots slot. Imagine they had one of those hybrid armours for every slot.... Eg: torva, masori, ancestral in one item. The game would just become stupid power creep just like rs3
I agree but on the other hand we don't really want them to buff separate boots enough to make "boot switches" feel necessary. 7-8 way switches are enough imo
@Dumle95 I get what you're saying, but that's a decision you have to make everywhere in the game. If you're a master at something, say toa you'll take full switches. But if you're still learning you might opt for 4 switches and more supplies. What were seeing here is the final boot upgrade, the infernal Cape of boots. I don't think we'll get anything stronger after this.
@ Pegasians are dead content unless you know you'll only be ranging and eternals are dead content pre-shadow. These boots would make them desirable again and eliminate the previously mentioned high switch problem. You're right it's a skill ceiling to bring more switches but it gets annoying and unfun to utilize if u have to have 10 items per style. I'm starting to lean towards the new boots being a good thing
where’s customer support for falsely banned players? oh right it don’t exist
“Market leading support” 🤡
i think jagex are scared of releasing gear upgrades that match the difficulty of the content cuz that would upset reddit. obviously it would make sense to get the best gear from the hardest bosses, but they chose not to, otherwise the casuals would feel left out. in a way its understandable because you want to please most of your playerbase, but it makes the gear upgrades not very prestigious or expensive, which kinda sucks. nex stuff is only so expensive because 1. its all best in slot, 2. the drops are rare and 3. the boss is dogshit
I think what makes it not acceptable is the general idea that getting the best in law armor right now is 100s of hour long grind if not more out don’t remember I don’t play this game anymore but spending that much time doing something is insane already and just expecting people to just spend another thousand hours to finally get to the endgamejust isn’t realistic for any new player whatsoever and if they want the game to grow that’s much more important to focus on I mean, focusing on things that draw new players not make players you have thousands of hours happy.
That well was the place where people got water.
I wasn't very interested and would not have stayed except you opened it up with that
1:14 isnt that just Colosseum?
i hope the loots wont be like dt2 bosses,bronze chains,bronze javs,ect...
granular approach is better in theory but putting it into practice is tightroping on razor wire. plus, with one of the worst "fanbases" in osrs that cries and freaks out about EVERYTHING, you have to worry about the human component as well
looks lovely there, but when are you streaming havent seen you in a while
shadow needs nerfed, without the nerf mage gear outside of it will always be trash. Feels like mage will always be a shit style unless they really re-balance it all properly. Please keep up these vids man class content. Id love to see some variant to the max set tbh, even with the different type of weakness's added people still just using 1 meta. Least if we had BIS for crush/slash/stab/heavy/light/fast/Fire/water/earth/air its alot but there all worried about power creep but come raids 4 there'll be a new mega rare and the fact we have 1 for each style leads me to think itll be something like a hybrid cape or new range neck with a healing effect. Or maybe a mage Ammo slot item. there is so much they can do but without Invention as a skill it'll always be a slow burner
i think if they are doing power creep and runing out of ideas will we run into a means to make hp higher so 99 wont be highest skill
I'm unsure if it's really that much of a problem, and I feel this rewards thing is kind of overblown. If Jagex constantly had to make every item more BiS than the last, they'd quickly design themselves into a corner where even if they wanted to, they've kind of designed themselves into a corner where the gear they've already made makes it insensible to release anything newer or better.
Consider the state of RS3, where BiS gear already requires lvl 92 or 95. The skill cap is 99. Unless they start raising combat max levels to 120, they've already painted themselves into a corner. Any new quest they release they can't exactly release a sidegrade type weapon that's compelling. They practically needed to release Necromancy as a 4th combat style (which ended up being the defacto best to use in most scenarios), just to have a meaningful combat content addition. In OSRS, there's a lot of nice sidegrade specs, from Voidwaker for high defense bosses, to Dclaws for low defense bosses, and you essentially have a lot of options. It would not be too difficult for OSRS to release a lvl 70 ~ 80 sidegrade type mainhand weapon or spec weapon that fills in some useful niche that wasn't available before, and you'd have a quest that's worth doing. Example, a Crush-style Halberd equivalent that can hit airborne enemies, can be used as a rock hammer to finish gargoyles, is a gargoyle-bane weapon, and becomes the best option to use at Grotesque Guardians, but has niche uses elsewhere.
This content already has TWO BiS gear, along with a few other lower level items that may be situationally niche. Are the two new BiS items waaaay better than previous slots? No, but it shouldn't have to be? If the content is as hard as it's presumed to be (they specifically call out lvl 120 combat plus from people about ready to tackle on Inferno), then people who aren't as mechanically good at the game aren't as hard pressed to have to get it on release. We're already pretty well aware of all the cape services sold outside the game from people illegitimately getting an inferno cape. It's presumed over 60% of the were gotten from cape services according to a Colonello video. They weren't mechanically good enough to get it themselves, which creates a black market outside the game for people to boost them through that content. Content designed like that just ends up hurting OSRS overall.
Consider if Jagex were to poll The Inferno today.
"Only one BiS cape for melee? And it's the hardest solo wave content ever released? Just for 1 higher max melee hit? What's the point? Where's the REWARDS??? Just use regular Fire Cape... SMH"
If anything, I agree with Gnomonkey's take on this, where he would've liked an analogous Splinter currency system like Colosseum, so that the content has life and purpose beyond its initial release. Half the reward from any colosseum run is essentially GP earned from splinters.
To be (somewhat) fair to RS3, they are in the process of releasing skill updates. They've switched to raising skills all non-120 to 110 as a stepping stone, before restarting the cycle to get all skills to 120, meaning it takes a lot less time and work to get the major updates out there.
They've already done 110 Mining & Smithing in August 2024, and now 110 Woodcutting & Fletching (& Firemaking technically) in December 2024. Now, they're working on 110 Runecrafting at some point late February or March, followed by 110 Crafting sometime in Spring.
I think it's a lot simpler than this. This is arguably, the hardest boss in the, And while it's nice to get a tiny tiny upgrade to boots and amulet, there's just nothing exciting about those relative to what you should get for the hardest boss in the game.
@@Mageimin Meanwhile the inferno has Zuk which is one of the hardest bosses in the game. The reward (singular) isn't tradeable (unlike this content). And the reward is BiS for only a low impact slot (cape) for one combat style (melee). There it basically only offers +1 max melee hit. The Inferno was still a good update at the time and still is good content in the game.
From what Jagex describes, this upcoming content is not as hard as Inferno, as it was intended to be done by account about ready to start to tackle the Inferno, but haven't. Yet the Inferno has less rewards. Doesn't this make Mokhaiotl better content than Inferno? 2 BiS instead of 1, and one of those BiS are BiS for all 3 combat styles, as opposed to just a single style's BiS. Rewards are tradeable, so you can rerun it to make money unlike Inferno.
Why are people OK with the Inferno, but vehemently opposed to Mokha? It's insensible.
@@JoeyJoJoJr17 they should make the threads untradable then. The reason infernal cape is accepted because it’s looked at as a prestigious reward and great milestone more than it’s actually stat value. Colosseum did a great job with one very nice untradable and other tradables so you could farm if you wanted.
Absolutely loving these walking videos!
You live in a nice place, looks very peaceful. How many people live there?
I want more of the click the boss click the food bosses, I dont have time to learn sweaty mechanics
tbh I feel like there is way too much high level content in the game. I've done a ton of pvm and I still have a bunch of stuff I haven't even tried, and a ton of gear to buy that I can't afford. Aside from just trying stuff, then it takes 100+ hours to actually complete the content.
If it wasnt 100+ hours you would get bored just play as much as you can and enjoy it
@@Relax-ym5hw As I said, most players don't even get to try it either by not being able to reach that stage in the game or by there being too many to try. It then feels like you are saying two things at once, it needs to be a long time but also you're not expected to play that much. I play a lot, I just don't play as much as a full time content creator which seem to be the only people who get to fully explore these pieces of content. Mod Matt K said this, he said the average player watches content creators do these but almost none of the player base is actually doing it themselves.
The reward should be leaving your membership price the same
sounds similar to Fortis colosseum
I think a power creep is almost necessary due to the game becoming stale. Hey, lets me use T bow here, shadow there. However thankfully with rs we have multiple ways to add new items and weapons.
As long as the power creep is slow and gradual I don't mind.. providing we never hit the likes of EOC again. Like what's next with power creep? Level 120 hitpoints? combat level increasing?
They are to careful when wanting to include items that are new Bis because powercreep but end of the day jagex and the community are gonna have to get over it and start including note worthy items to new bosses there is only so much they can do that only includes a tiny 1% better dps it just isnt worth the time investment and ideas are clearly running out for the team if they wanna make items more engaging then they just need to make bosses harder and have more hp to accommodate for stronger gear
ok, so they made things with like amulet of rancour which is upgrade to amulet of torture, so it means there cant be any bigger upgrades to melee amy slot.. isnt that endgame? now they like making from something older make something new, but isnt that bringing endgame? becasue whats the point to make as example something bigger to amulet of rancour if its already an upgrade.
I think the boots are fine nex is broken gp shadow is broken af also think allowing all the freezing in gwd should be removed no more frezing bandos and shadowing him down same with zammy and the bow
What's with the well?! Tell me!!!
2 videos back for the lore mate
@RaikesyYT haha forcing me to watch all your videos! How devious.
It's raikesy marching to them again.
Naaa nty for powercreep for items that only 2 ppl can get
Anyone else think Jagex should hire Raikesy? As like a consultant, they pitch a idea and before they send it out send it Raikesy. He could be their spell checker.
nintendo, hire this man!
very naive take, that’s not at all how game dev’ing works
We need more of these walking and talking osrs… get a guest on too maybe even a dog or two 😂
enjoying these kind of vids
Increase level of hp and combat skills and weapons and armour etc to follow they need to do it eventually or they’ll run out of time
I can't stand wave base encounters in any game. I hope it doesn't get put in the game at all tbh
this is my main complaint. The reward dont match the perception of difficulty for this boss. theyre scared of making some of the drops from raids dead content (except tob items, they hate tob). Even the DT2 bosses had better shit than this: mid/side grade mage set. New axe that competes with scythe. Ring upgrades. Ancient staffs upgrade.
Vs what is expected to be the best/hardest single boss in the game: boot upgrade, demon bane crush weapon (??), and then mage necklace upgrade. Seriously disappointing. Just hurry and release raids 4 so i can complain about more dogshit rewards and just quit.
I was thinking earlier it's kind of funny how runescape is. It's a game with skills that require no skill, and skills that aren't skills that require skill but no skills. And I got to thinking of all the skills that aren't skills that you need to learn to be good at the game. Prayer flicking, switching, tick eating, pathing, the rhythm in ticks, pot blocking, 2:1, 9:0 4:1, 3 to 1 brew restore, double eating, triple eating, right click walk under, gear switching, 1 tick fake out speccing, ags 2 gmaul etc etc it's quite extensive lol
Of course there is no sun in this video
About to walk my dog and listen to this.
Youre looking fit af man keep up the good work
New boss should drop divine spirit shield
The problem with OSRS is that guys like you based your income and careers around it. Osrs died long time ago
i need information for this well, loremasters please, enlighten me.
It's the well from the nursery rhyme Jack and Jill
I'm ready to quit the game because the content they are releasing is basically in the realm of never for me.
There are too many things to learn to do a raid or the coliseum or inferno or gauntlet...etc. I can't contribute 100 hours of 8hr per day to learn content with a family and a job. And I can't learn the content with 2-3hr per week.
How many % players are casual like me?
Should we be locked out of useful rewards like the inferno cape and the quiver and the combat achievement rewards?
If I can buy the rewards for content I can never do.. I'll grind out a money maker. But being locked out of more and more and more... I'm gonna be out soon
ya are wussies. they should add content that if you die, you lose everything you have on you. its a great money sinker and actually challenging. safe deaths are so pathetic.
Love these videos
Are you mad 3 irl videos in 2 weeks!?
