  • Hey Guys,
    Finally I put an end to the stupid comments regarding the reverselight. It's NOT broken. It's the way that SAAB implemented it, however I do want to have it both sides ;-) Enjoy!
    Link to the add-on-kit to get white leds on the side that's missing them. Can be used on both sides:

    I finally pulled the trigger and fixed this "issue." I bought a left side taillight from the UK and transplanted the backup light components into my US spec tail light and it looks great! Easier than I expected it to be. I have pictures I can share if you like. Thanks again!

    This was my first thought when I bought mine, lol. I had to show the inspector there was no physical opening in the reverse lens for an LED for it to pass inspection. I'm a little hesitant to dissect an $850 tail light, but I will check out the link. Thanks! Love the spoiler on yours too

      I know.. Cutting that lamp "hurts" inside. I haven't done this myself yet, but the guy that sells the kit could probably do it.. Depending on where you live that would add some shipping cost though and the thought of shipping the tail light is a bit scary!! Thanks for watching!

      Finally! Yes!! Feels good doesn't it? Even though it hurts the wallet a bit.. :-/ It's nice with some more light behind the car. It could be even better but this is as good as it can without any additional lights..

      Yes, it feels good 👍.
      I think the wallet will take it, my wife adopted it worse. The biggest difference is the awareness that now I have two rear lights and nobody will tell me that I have a broken bulb...

    Its about the law side. In some countries its not allowed to use lights at both sides. so its cheaper to just do left or right side cars instead of changing it for all the markets with both, left and right side. thats all. this is also why its plug and play. the car can do it.

      @@TechCars Inga felkoder vad jag vet, inte några som kommer upp i instrumentklustret i varje fall. Philip Salonen undersökte det hela och kom fram till att det var kabelbrott någonstans. Är inte högst upp på prioriteringslistan just nu, men nån gång så hah :)

    Ok, and how is it with the rear foglights now.
    Not sure how it is on ng95 since I don't have that model yet, but with most cars, they have only one foglight in the rear, either center (like Peugeot 206 or other small cars, not depending on market) or positioned to the center if the road, so it differs for rhd / lhd markets.

    • @TechCars
      @TechCars  5 років тому +2

      You're right. At the bottom of the bumper there's a foglight. Only on one side.. Can't remember if it's same as the reverselight, should be :) It's difficult to buy this as well I think.

    • @PeterChomanic
      @PeterChomanic 5 років тому +1

      @@TechCars ah yes, on ng95 foglight is not in the taillight assembly but on the bottom of the bumper. Whatever then :) my comment is almost irrelevant in that case.

    One more question, I can see that the headlight have the feature of the running daylight attached to it, but why is not working in my model, it only works in the 9-5 aero x and it's a posibility that I can make them work in my car.
    The Saab I own is a 9-5 premier 2011.

    Nice car, now can you explain to me how to solve a problem on my saab 9-5 2011 blink turning lights, one work ok the rigth side but when I try to use the left turn signal, it starts to blink fast, I check all the lights but no one is blown off , it only happens when I use the left turn signal.
    So why and how I can fix this problem.
    And the other is how to replace and fix the trunk running light, on my car this one is gone..... To tell you the truth in disappointment with my car... If you or any one have a solution for my problem please help me out.

    • @TechCars
      @TechCars  5 років тому

      Hi Jose. In which country are you located? I suspect that it's the electronics inside the left taillight that is broken in some way. I was browsing through the car manual and I couldn't find any relay related to just turn signals. It could be that it's controlled by the BCM, Body Control Module directly. I don't think the BCM is broken.. There are a few companies that specialize in these kind of repairs, www.saabled.com/ Regarding the trunk running light, it's very common that these give up. There are repair kits available and I've done one repair myself (not on my own car) and it's not so difficult. Probably the most difficult part is when your cutting in the plastics on the back knowing that these are almost impossible to find new... Saabled.com also have these kits and www.hblom.se/saab-9-5-2010-2011.html BR Markus

      @@TechCars thanks for your prompt reply, I live in the USA ill check into the tail light, also I'll look into the way to make the trunk light on ebay to get the kit repair, I do love the car te worst thing is its almost brand new it has 40,000 miles and to be having these problems it's soo disappointe for such a beautiful car but since the GM got their hands into, it definitely destroyed and ruined a good reliable car.
      Thanks for everything.

    Do you can’t change the reverse bulb ?

      No not really. They are not made for changing. You need to cut the back of the lamp (black plastics) replace the LEDs and then reseal it.
