Paying tribute to legendary songwriter Burt Bacharach, Mark Taylor uses a driving up-tempo 4/4 swing style in this standout arrangement. Saxes are featured at the start with tasty contributions from the brass. Also featured is a solo for trumpet, sax soli, key change and full ensemble shout to end the end. Skillfully done!

"What the World Needs Now" is a lot more swinging, driving charts like this one from the never disappointing Mark Taylor.
I knew this version of this great hit was going to be different when I saw the 4/4 time rather than the 3/4. Great sax chorus in the middle.
Thanks Mark.
Mark Taylor just cant miss

No cigar Mark Taylor and Hal Lenard music
The charm of Burt Bacharachs version was there was just a hint of sadness in his singing ( and Dionne Warwick).
Too much Columbian coffee. Or arabica. Too aggressively friendly.
You kind of lobotomized it.
The charm was in the melancholiness.
P.s. everyone was on key. Horns were great. Bass and drums.
Sounded like a marching band version of My Funny Valentine.
Imh opinion.
Rubbish

Yes. I’m going to do it.
I have a lot of arrangements of things. I’ve just never notated them properly, or published them. But it’s time
The Arrangement the arrangement the WDR big band plays is marvelous. It keeps the spirit of the Burt Bacharach version. Also the melody is written for solo bass trombone. It is on UA-cam.
