- So what's the best class for the new expansion? Who is the most fun to play? Who deals out the most damage? Let's have a look!
Obviously this list is my opinion from my experience in the alpha/beta. I've played about with every class and these are the ones I took to most.
Druid is super fun as Feral and Resto, and the other specs are nice choices to have.
Demon Hunter is currently awesome - but I feel like I'd prefer a ranged dps or a class that can heal as my main, maybe.
Shamans are currently the bomb! Enhancement is really fun to play, Resto seems like a really strong healer with so many options and Elemental is a nice thing to have if it's ever required.
As someone who is terrible when it comes to actually settling on a main, hopefully this time around I can focus on one character more than the others. I'm just a little sad that hunter seems to be a little meh in Legion.

Yup Blood Dk's can take on 5 people at once and not die. Frost DK is squishy though; they kind of suck. Unholy is cool, though.

This is true as Dk are much more bulkier and deadlier, since they can kite with slows and heal a ton not to mention death grip
Not gonna lie, most of the classes look super fun to play in legion and i have no idea why people cry that this expansion is gonna suck
they are saying that just incase they are disappointed... cuz u know... wod was made out to be the same. But in all honestly I can just tell Legion is leagues above what WOD ever was and will take the game back into a new golden age, that will hopefully continue in the next 2 expansion afer legion (I'm assuming there are only 2 left, which is very probable)

Yes, at the end game. Early game Mana drops, but not nearly as much as his is in this video.

Enhancement is my main, so Im really looking forward to Legion.
I'm gonna try it out as my main for legion. Been Ele for like 5 years and never even played Enhance past like lvl 20lol. Tired of playing the shittiest spec in the game that never gets love... haha. Hopefully they won't nerf Enhance with the last balance patch or along with the first tier.

+DoktahArk This is why Ive not touched my Shaman in WoD. I got her to 100, and she's sat there ever since. Enhancement has always been crap lately, but getting rid of Elemental's chain gun mastery and replacing it with this retarded incite earth one pretty much shoehorned Elemental into obscurity for WoD.

After having a rough time in WoD with my Elemental Shaman main and having to put it aside to play other classes to raid, vids like this give me hope. Bravo, Sir.
This is nice to hear, I just dinged 100 with a fresh Shaman on a new server (as my old guild had transferred and I didn't want to pay). My sights were fixed on Enhancement, so this is quite encouraging.
God I cant wait for this expac... at this point I want new content so bad, makes me feel like a crack addict.

You mean our good friends the Outlaws?! I love their RNG gimics, but I think the 'all or nothing' gameplay might hurt them a bit in the raiding scene :P.
Yeah, honestly though I'm assuming they'll fix alot of that. They can't have a class be so heavily RNG, it just impacts negatively on playability and balancing. Here's to hoping :D
My main is Enh Shamman and you just made my day. My first Alt is a Druid, so I am definitely looking forward to Legion now.

Why is shadow priest amazing?
The biggest thing for me is the lore. It's very Lovecraftian in the sense that your artifact weapon involves the old gods. Shadow. Priests have a new resource called insanity and when you build that resource to max you go into insanity form and sprout tentacles and stuff and do a ton more damage and get different abilities and you have to juggle using those as well as using your insanity builders to stay in that form for as long as possible. There is even a talent that makes you do a ton more damage while insane but if you fall out of insanity form you die instantly. Shadow priest just feels cool as hell.
I don't know, the artifact dagger is disgusting and just makes me want to commit sudoku everytime I see it. Beside that, what I liked with shadow priest in MoP was the dot spec with huge devouring plague. When WoD came out, it seems like the CoP being the best destroyed everything I liked about shadow, with the mind spike spam, I felt like I was playing a mix of Destro lock and Frost mage which made me completly switch class until AS came viable in HFC. For Legion, it seems like Mind Spike is going to be the go to talent for the lvl 100 row. Needless to say, even tho I like shadow for the reason you said, I might not play the spec only because the gameplay of it seems horrible. Sadly, I didn't have acces to beta so I can't test it. Maybe it's not that bad after all, ain't going to risk myself making it my main.

Im loving the DROOOOOD!!! I actually think it might be my new favorite solo class even over my beloved DK
Drooood's always been my main class. Instant flying skill and able to interact with world objects while flying makes task of collecting anything easy. Nearly always topping healing meters in raids, feral dps being awesome, and being possibly the best class to solo old raids, so this choice is obvious. Now they finally even adding new looks to shapeshifting...

So I guess you didn't enjoy the new survival spec? I have no idea what it's like, but i'm looking forward to trying it.
It's fun for the first few minutes, a lot of thought has definitely gone into how they want you to play it. The problem is it still feels a little empty (like every hunter spec). It may just be the sudden shock difference, but it feels a tad lacking after a while.
If you work on keeping all 5/6 of your DoTs up while you pool some Mongoose bites it is quite a rewarding game play.
I find it extremely wrong your most damaging ability isn't a focus spender and the mongoose buf + mastery is so random. It combines everything bad from wod deep insight passive of combat rogues.
What are your thoughts on demonology? is it boring clunky? underpowered? I never see anyone talking about it and I don't know why.
There are vids on youtube... they are actually looking pretty awesome. They summon tons of demons and you can empower them (it looks awesome). Only thing I really haven't seen is how they fair in pvp, but it seems they want all three specs to be the "tanky" caster. They will probably be more immobile, making you choose between your demonic circle and dark pact.

I'm not in the beta *yet*, but I'm maining my Enhancement Shaman in Legion first. Second choice is my Frost Mage. And third is my Demon Hunter.
I'm 100% committed to resto shaman, I love the fantasy and loved the play-style of it in Warlords, and I'm really happy Blizzard isn't making any drastic changes to it like disc priests, holy paladins, or mistweaver monks.
I'll stick with my warrior just like I did for the past 8 years

Mine, too. Starting in BC with a Rogue. Was a Druid in WotLK. Mage in Cataclysm. Warrior in MoP. Did kind of a rogue/mage/warlock hybrid main...thing in WoD (our raid comp kept changing, and we kept missing something, so I filled XD). With Legion, I'll be maining Demon Hunter, hands down. I self-imposed this so that I wouldn't swap between classes. My main alts are, easily, going to be Enhance Shaman, Shadow Priest, and Feral Druid. I love the fantasy of each of these classes. Demon Hunter for PvP/raiding with friends, Feral Druid for gathering, running old raids alongside my Demon Hunter, and feeling awesome in all the nature stuff, Enhance Shaman because it looks amazing and I've always wanted to main shaman in the back of my mind (main alt), and Shadow Priest because LOVECRAFTTTTTTTTTTTTTT haha :D

Been playing a shaman my whole wow life. I share your excitement and weakness as well. Enhancement sounds greatly improved and everything feels very solid regardless of spec. I'll probably alt a dk or pally as usual, but shammys have my heart strings. Thanks for the vid.
YES! I've been an enhancement shaman from the very beginning, and I'm SO EXCITED! Ever since we lost Ascendance Stormblast burst, we've been middling in our damage output. Now we're returning to our former glory!

I've been playing my DK on ptr. I'm changing from dps to tank main spec for Legion, especially after seeing the new animations in action. DK has been great so far. I also really like prot pally on the ptr. Warrior was pretty meh. TL;DR yeah dk is in a good spot.

Currently im thinking about druid, tried them out after this video and i have to agree with you, they feel good. I'm just now gonna try the Shaman, will see if that is also as fun as you made it sound. So far i have found fire mages to be really fun as well as WW monks.
There should be no 'best class'...that nonsense is ruining the game...everyone wants to excel...limiting the potential of that by awarding more potential to one class or another, drives people off their chosen class and onto a class they would rather not play, but are compelled to, in order to max out...which in turn...drives people away from the game...
Love all three classes you recommend, with the addition of one: Shadow Priest. Spriest and the three you like are my four favorites in the game. It's to the point to where I don't know that I'll have a "main": I think I'll just level those four classes across my servers and just play the ones I feel like playing at the time :). Great video!
Happy to see enhance shammy at the top, currently leveling goblin toon on live and I love seeing my name at the top of the damage charts in dungeons and constantly dealing damage . Can't wait to play shammy in legion.
Wow dude, awesome video! :D You give great and useful info, but without getting too technical! Your voice doesn't get tiring and you got nice audio and video quality! (The only thing is at some points you talk a bit faster, like if i could set it at 0.9 speed it would be perfect! But maybe its just me being a foreigner and tired atm xD) Definitely subscribed ^^!

I've always liked resto shaman so maybe i'll give it a shot. The main classes I want to play in legion are rogue, warrior, priest, mage, shaman, demonhunter, and maybe druid after your video. I think my pvp main will always be a rogue so that's a given. I actually had alot of fun with shaman healing since I played a disc priest for so long, so this video is good news.
Hehe, been maining an enhancement shaman since cata. Though I can't really say for certain that the rework did anything to the overall damage output of the enh shaman, the animations make it feel very powerful, it seems. Good video, might have to get back into the Druid in Legion. :D
I will be sticking with my feral druid and enhancement shaman. Been playing shaman since wrath and druid since mop. Just love the playstyle of each and the customization now for feral has me stoked!
yup, my three also - druid nudging to top based on class fantasy, enhance right on heels as it feels incredible, and dh in there simply for the fun & lore. :)

Enhance Shaman has been my main class/spec since WotLK, so glad to see them finally getting some love.
I started as a druid when I got on warcraft and I honestly love playing as a druid. This is my favorite class because of the transformations. I especially love the flight form because it's immediate and faster than any mount. Plus so many options for fighting! I can use my balance abilities or go feral depending on my mood which makes me super diverse in the game

Update since Demon Hunter went live: OMG why is double jump and glide so FUN! Seriously, that alone sets the DH apart and is way more fun than it sounds.

I definitely agree with you on this list. Enh Shammy in the beta is sooooo much fun for me right now! Demon hunters are a blast to play too but there are going to be so many of them when Legion drops. I can finally play my rogue again in Legion too! Sadly I think I might have to leave my hunter behind aswell, so far its "okay" as of now. Hopefully they fix some things.
Glad to see Druids are doing well this expansion. I love my bear tank, and the new models are amazing!

Fuck yeah man. Super stoked to hear that Enhancement's... enhancements are working out. It's always been that spec that I desperately wanted to enjoy. The raging, elemental beatdown sounds super cool thematically, but had always felt fairly underwhelming in-game.
Awesome vid. I want to main Druid in legion but continue my main dk. I was wanting to make a shammy alt but I think I may push it up higher after this and I agree with you about everyone having a demon hunter when it hits so I'm going to try and avoid it until 7.2-7.4.

I am a main prot warrior. And though DH tanking looks like great fun... My main will remain my soul focus until he's ready. I did love the video though.
Hard to choose a top 3 but I think my personal one is:
1. Enhance - awesome new mechanics & flavour
2. Outlaw rogue - see above
3. Unholy death knight - see above :D
The best overall package though is probably Druid. So much awesome contained in that class in Legion.

staying druid as main anyway. but those significant changes to balance are interesting to me. currently feral main and boomie offspec, but i guess current balance takes a bit more time to master. bears seems very strong tanks as well, so still deciding about main dps spec :( blizz like to boost ferals a bit since they aren't so popular as other druid specs, so that might be kind of benefit as well :D Cheer, i liked your video a lot!

I will stay enhancement for sure loved it in warlords but playing the beta and testing the new playstyle i fell in love with the specc all over again

pre-patch is here, and I have been hooked on the enhanement. Granted, most of my gear consist of intelligence than agility, so my dps is only 20K. That doesn't matter because I'm still swinging, lightning is being shot at both my allies and enemies, spirit wolves are running around, and this is my first time duel-wielding. Feels amazing. Elemental was fun for a while, but in my craze for enhancement for the need for resto in a raid, i just changed back. Resto is got some, unusual aoe talents, one which requires near melee aiming. I require more testing, but riptide, healing waves, healing rain it's always nice to be casting water spells. If it wasn't summer time irl, I would probably be feeling refreshed.
There is one thing I like about marksman hunter that might keep me playing and that's the explosive shot. I know mythic raiders tell me this is an unnecessary risk, but I think I'll take it. There is also no replacement for barrage, so I'll take the other talent which is spending 3 focus for aoe auto hits. The 100 talent I've been fooling around with is where you spend 20-100 focus to deal piercing damage. It does feel good to one shot 3 enemies and have them die, as a marksman should be. Beast mastery is bugged, where the pet takes too much aggro, so until that is fixed, I cannot say. Survival I have not touched yet, though map chat is too busy saying it's bad and saying assassin rogues and prot paladin is great for pvp, but I don't play pvp so I don't care.
Druid is my second class I picked, and updating its model as well as its spells feels pretty cool. For balance, I can time burst well for when one giant enemy arrives and i have three starfires and two solar wraths ready at my hands. aoe looks and sounds cool, and changing colors is a it weird, but the base model is fine. I don't really see a need to be a troll when I can be a glorious bird. Feral feels like I never have the 6 minute raid dps I want, but pve/trash mobs, I feel like a cat that just wants to bite things, shred them up, and eat it's meat. The level 10 talent even in raid situations has been fun to play with. Extra random burst in energy goes to bursting damage, and so long as I'm having fun, I'll stay around. Resto seems a bit hard to manage mana, but placing hots is still there, and I love the tranquility update. Innervate, I have not found how to wisely spend 10 seconds of free mana, but I won't stop trying. I resto with guardian affinity, and it really is temporary, but it does wonders if a tank dies. I recommend balance affinity or feral if you are out in the open world. So if you know you're doing a dungeon/raid in the next half an hour and still want to pve, you can stay in resto with all your plants, it's nice. Guardian is my first tank class (sorry mythic/pvp elite players, I must make you angry at how badly I can mess up.) and it does a good chunk of damage. Having bark or magical glowing auras around you make it really stand out, both visually and playing. It's obvious when defenses are in place, the fur colors look great, and it is fun to constantly thrash everything. Also, moonfire, that's funny. It's like a second growl if your ally isn't taking too much aggro. Still wish for more defensive spells, maybe I'll keep looking in the talents. (I have two druids, so I only need to search two artifacts as opposed to seeking four artifacts with one character.)
I don't actually have much classes to choose from as I'm new, but the classes I have, I am happy with. Except hunter, I feel there's only one spec and two skills I like.
Shaman, I will love to use, mainly for duel wielding and lightning shooting.
Druid, I'm there to /dance, leap around, and, due to a fact 3/4 specs are a beast, eat things.

I tried the new enhancement shaman before watching this video and I was hugely surprised by how much it has changed and how much fun it was.. and the lack of totems! Definitely will be giving it a good go on live. Also, boomkins are very appealing to me now, since the swinging lunar system I haven't really enjoyed them but this is a wonderful turn for them and I'll be trying that out, too.. although their healing is a bit bad in PvP compared to say.. shadow priests.. even specced into the resto off-spec talent! Do hope they improve the numbers. Outlaw rogue is actually really smooth and fun, much better than I imagined it to be - always thought combat was slow and clunky, but this new spec is refreshing. Looking like a great expansion so far!

Its weird watching this now, I first watched this before I resubscribed (I didnt have anyone over 25 at the time) and it got me interested to pick a shaman. I did, and now almost a month later I am actually 100% happy with my choice and cant wait for the changes. I just need to get him to level cap lol
I've been playing a mage since 2005, and I am looking forward to playing Arcane in Legion as my main. I have also been eyeing my elemental shaman and windwalker monk (especially now that my paladin is looking crappy for Legion).
As a player who mains a druid, I think I'm going to be very happy this expansion

I hadn't played wow in ages untill i got Beta access last weekend. I tried a bit of "my classes" yesterday. I main a bear druid, then i have an enhancment shammy, arcane/frost mage and a survival hunter. I had high hopes for survival, but it felt way to clunky. I tried mage but it just feels the same. Druid will always be my second love(started in vanilla as hunter, untill i tried druid in BC) and it seems to be very fun, going to try that tonight. Also tried affliction lock, as Summoner is my love in FF14. Seems like fun. Then started a Demon Hunter. I had to quit that after about 10 minutes, the class is so amazing, it plays so well and is so much fun, I dont want to ruin the story and the game on a character that will get purged because of beta. But during all the spec testing, i saw a lot of shamans. The only melee spec i've ever loved in wow is enhancement and it seems to be really fun. I'm going to try it out tonight. But for now, my mage will have to take a backseat, my hunter aswell. I completly agree with your list, those classes will be my classes. Though chances are they might be in a different order. Think its time to dust off my alliance toons... cause i'll be damned if have to play a blood elf DH. Now I just have to decide what race my shaman is going to be...

Wow 1st video of yours that I have seen. I must say I am impressed! I too main a hunter and have thoroughly enjoyed the class, up until wod. The class is unbearable in high end pvp and has added to the lack luster wod xpac to force me to leave. The new changes, while I have not personally experienced it, seem as if there is still more that should be implemented. Time will tale, I'll still give it the 1st try and was looking at the demon hunter to possibly take its place. As well as, the DK and now after watching your video maybe the enhancement shammy. So tyvm!

I've always had like 3 favorite classes that I've always stuck to, that being Monks, Shadow Priests and Hunters. But now, after seeing all the changes in Legion, ALL specs and classes looks so damned creamy I don't know what to play :O

me too. I started an enhancement shaman back in BC with a Draenei and it quickly became my favorite character, turning my once main Retro Paladin into my alt. It's the only toon I went to 80 during Litch King and ugh...watching this...makes me wanna go back...
My main is almost always my mage. But I've got my pally, warrior, priests and monk leveled to 100 right now. Working on my druid, dk and warlock at the moment. I plan on staying with my mage as a main but leveling 2 demonhunters: one Ally to play with the wife and a Horde to benefit from my main's resources. That's the PLAN at the moment. All due to change based on my own playing experience!

must agree with the enhancement shaman. Ill admit enhancement was my favorite before legion and now I love it even more.

This is awesome because I've been debating using my legion boost on shaman or Drood... I've wanted to play enhancement forever and I just want a drood for farm.

Demon hunter is looking VERY promising! Eye Beam definitely isn't most of your damage though, that would be chaos strike. But, Eye Beam definitely is the most satisfying ability to use for DH, by far. Almost like DH's version of Barrage from hunters, but with less 'LET'S PULL EVERYTHING!" lol
Eye Beam is your largest short cooldown, so while it might not be #1 on your damage list it's going to be the most important ability to land successfully to be the top dps :D that's what I was trying to get at ^_^.

So I guess by the Shaman being your number one pick this means that Shamans will be doing better healing now? I know Disc Priests were topping the charts on healing along with Druids and it seemed for a couple years that Healing Shamans just didn't do too well. I love playing casters and I always did far better on my Priest and Druid than the Shaman. Anyway, I may have to move one of my toons over to another server so I have room to try rolling a Demon Hunter to try it out. Thanks for the video!
everyone is getting a 12th character slot on every server, to make room for demon hunters. As far as I know, the character limit per account isn't changing (50), but you don't need to move a toon to have a Demon Hunter on your server :)
