Not sure about people wanting a silent video. I prefer listening to you Corin. You always give clear explanations during your work and that’s how we learn. For those that don’t want to hear it……. there’s a mute button on your device….’use it!!!’…….

You have the best bonsai channel on UA-cam for a reason. You explain your thoughts and practices and we as an audience learn from that. Beautiful collection and that maple in the intro is amazing! Let the naysayers use their volume buttons if they aren’t interested in an experts instruction.

Hi Corin, I prefer it with the commentary. Why would people not want to know your thoughts and reasons on what you do? Isn't that why we enjoy watching your videos? By the way that is an awesome tree.

  • @MAMLeers

Really beautiful tree; well done! Well, everybody has the right on his or hers own opinion. I'm taking care and propagate bonsaï for more than three decades now. When you are talking while pruning, you are sharing your own thoughts, judgements, evaluations of the tree and the process of styling and taking care. I think one can learn (a lot) from that, and I know I do. And so, when bonsaï are (only) displayed, I can imagine some people prefer a certain level of silence or background "easy listening" or something like that. But, when working on a tree (and not only displaying it) by an experienced bonsaï nursery owner, I find it rather strange to prefer silence about the "job" and so, with no explanation at all about how and why. I mean: really strange... I rather prefer listening and learning... Keep up the good work, mr Tomlinson, I salute you!

My second reaction on your silent video. With you explaining, teaching us what to do, makes it a lot more interesting. If people don't like what you do there are much more alternatives to suit them. You just keep on doing what you do best. Make films about bonsai and give your comment, so the true bonsailover learns and improves his bonsai. Keep on doing what you do

I like your willingness to experiment, but I agree with the others who have said they prefer videos with commentary. Hearing your thought process as you work really helps people like me, who have only been doing bonsai for a couple of years. The more I hear experts explain why they're doing things as they're doing them, the more I remember and the more likely I am to make better decisions as I'm working on my own trees.
