B. The lighting is a bit dark, but yes, their father got out of the house
C. "Are they always this funny?" No: sometimes you can crack a rib laughing at an episode. They use humor to break up the horror, and nobody does meta like SPN.
D. If enough SPN fans start following, you may want to consider getting a moderator. The fan base doesn't mean to spoil, but sometimes their enthusiasm can't be contained, and they can be very passionate.

Agree, a moderator would be very useful! Spn is a show that has major spoilers that would ruin experience for a first time watcher 😔
Also, with 15 seasons, it is very easy to forget what happens when, and so sometimes fans forget that something they are bringing up hasn’t happened yet
Jared is only 6'4"? I thought Misha was 6' Jenson 6'2" (?) and Jerry 6'6" or so. Mainly because my husbunny is 6'9" and it just feels like Jer is taller than 6'4". You learn something new everyday!

Every time I see someone reacts to this pilot I get chills. I gave 15 years of my life to this show……. And it was worth it.
I still give my life to this show. Seriously, God only knows how many times I’ve watched every season. I haven’t stop rewatching them all since it ended. I constantly watch them back to back, and I don’t think I’ll ever stop. It never gets old. Yes, I have issues. Don’t judge. Lol. I’m so far beyond obsessed with it. I can’t get enough. I don’t care that I know every line, it will NEVER get old.

I love the pilot, it holds up well, doesn't it? That was 2005. The series is fantastic. Even the not-the-best episodes are good, and the not-the-best seasons are still great. The whole thing starts with the chemistry between J2 (Jared and Jensen) who are as tight as real brothers, and were almost from the jump. They worked their asses off for 15 years and created quite a family between cast, crew, and fans. I'm proud to be an SPN fan and look forward to watching you become one, too.
Well if that pilot is any indication im pumped for whats to come !

Most fans would not tell you this, and as dangerously obssessed as i am with this show, i do have to say the quality and writing of this show _does_ start to decline after a certain point. But don't let that discourage you. For me personally, the good *EASILY* outshines the bad in this series. I promise you you will not regret watching all 15 seasons. Carry on!
Edit: I just have to mention how ridiculously good the actors are in this show, but Jensen especially is an absolute master of his craft. That is all.

This show is one of the best ones that were on TV. The actors for Sam and Dean do an amazing job. They are great friends in real life. The chemistry is on and off screen. The show in general is a thrill to watch. You will never be bored. Can't wait to see you continue down the supernatural road
They are also making a prequel show called The Winchesters it is about Sam and Dean's parents.

04:46 It was their dad. He got out of the burning house at the last minute, but you are right the scene was confusing, since he was surrounded by flames.
Fun fact: back then, they were using practical visual effects instead of digital, so the fire on the ceiling was real. Today the use of this kind of practical visual effects is illegal because it’ s really dangerous. When Jared/Sam was lying on the bed and Jensen/Dean burst into the room to save him, there was a live fire on the roof. The safety people told Jared and Jensen, that the moment they start feeling hot they should drop everything and run.
There is a recent podcast where Jared and Jensen are describing how the scene was made. I don’t recommend you to listen to the whole podcast because there are huge spoilers. If you want to listen the story from Jared and Jensen themselves, watch the following video between 24:54 - 26:53.

Find a friend who has the DVDs, rent them, buy them, but don't watch on Netflix! They don't have music rights for streaming, so you miss a major factor that was a huge part of this show!
I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!!! I hope you stick with it, some seasons are better than others but overall it’s worth it to keep watching until the finale. I know you’ll enjoy the whole show if the pilot was a hit for you.

Lol the episode with the bees.. when I introduce people I usually have them skip episodes like Bugs and Skin. They’re episodes even the show has made fun of for being bad. Basically you see how they have some flop episodes but all in all season 1 let’s them try and see what works and doesn’t
The car is named Baby. It's a character. Love this show!
The dad lived, there was a demon that took the form to look like the dad, and the demon killed Mary! This was the BEST series I have ever watched! I'm just sad it had to end!
Aside from TVD, this was my childhood. TVD started when I was 10, but SPN started when I was 6. So, while I definitely have a soft spot for both shows, SPN will remain my favorite TV show of all time. 15 seasons is a journey I'm here for.

I love this show both because of content and the family feeling they promote both on and off screen. The chemistry is amazing. I also love their ability to laugh at themselves. The hunor that runs through the show is superb!

And Timeless, which was an AWESOME show as well! It's only failing was that it was on NBC, so it wasn't appreciated and cancelled far before it's time.

I swear to God, I would give my arms and legs to watch Supernatural for the first time. If I had the ability to forget a show or movie a millions times and rewatch for the first time, I would use every single one for Supernatural. Heck, i would do that if I had a 999 trillion times to do it. I’m beyond an insane, fanatical, over the top nut case of a fan. God only knows how many times I’ve watched every season. I’m obsessed with other shows/movies, and I do mean OBSESSED, but none could every even begin to compare to how completely and utterly obsessed I am with Supernatural. The show has it all. Comedy, action, suspense, romance, drama, horror, EVERYTHING!!!!!

one thing i love about the show is that it brought the actors of the winchester bros to be like brothers in real life :) jared padalecki (sam) and jensen ackles (dean) are extremely good friends and consider themselves to be brothers, and their kids are like bestfriends with each other! after you watch the first season, i'd reccommend you watching the season 1 bloopers, but thanks again for uploading this, can't wait to watch the rest of your reactions

As a horror fan, this show was a revelation for me with this first episode! I grew up in the 80s with classic horror...from books to films...this series (1-5 for my part) was brilliant. Specially for its time! It was next level and fun as hell!
And seeing Jensen getting a lead roll after loving his performance in Smallville, was a bonus! ❤️🎬👍
I'm personally still watching this show but I love how dark they filmed the first few seasons. They are so good, and your reaction to the first episode made me love this show even more.

I had never seen this show and just binged all 15 seasons over the past few months. So excited to see you're reacting to them!
I just got into this show a few years ago and I wonder how I lived without it this entire time. Second favorite show to Buffy. Also the dad made it out of the fire, it shows him outside the house. Jared and Jensen are best friends (and basically like family) in real life. They’re very funny but they grow and change a lot as the series progresses, especially their temperaments/emotions. The show is EXTREMELY meta and breaking the “5th wall (way more than the 4th)” lol.
Also, TONS of Buffy/Angel alumni and some mentions of it in the show and Easter eggs. It was influenced by Buffy and Xfiles. One episode was a complete copy cat of Angel and many ideas and concepts were ripped from Buffy.
Can’t wait for you to fall in love with this show. Not every season hits it out of the park but it will be one of the best shows you’ll watch. They had a small budget in the beginning, especially the first season, so not a lot to spend on special effects. All the fire, blood splatter, are practical effects.
This show has been my favorite ever since the first episode years ago. I think you will really enjoy it. I promise to watch every time you react to it. I really enjoy channel. I've been watching since you started reacting to Home Free. ❤️

The first season makes you realize how young they looked back then, not just Sam and Dean, but Jared and Jensen as well.

I am glad you are watching this show. I have watched the whole show twice. The one thing I noticed on the rewatch is the show as it goes on gets less terrifying and kind of becomes funny but it never looses the bond between Sam and Dean or how genuinely dark the show can get. I understand not be able to put all of the episode reactions on UA-cam but maybe the season premieres and finales and couple fan favorite episodes.
Well now I have to subscribe 😊 favourite tv show ever, nothing managed to come close yet. Really enjoyed your reaction! You may see some comments telling you to watch only certain number of seasons but trust me it's worth watching all 15. And reacting to the gag reels at the end of every season is a must! You will fall in love not only with the characters but with the actors as well 😁
And yes that was their dad who grabbed them, he didn't d*e in the flames as it might seem in that scene.

I love this show and I'm so glad you're giving it a shot! Dean Winchester is probably my all time favorite television character.
I think the main reason this show lasted for so long is the real life friendship between Jared and Jensen. Their chemistry is seriously good and no one has any trouble buying them as brothers.
Whenever you finish a season, don't forget to react to the bloopers for that season because they are fricken hilarious! Definitely don't miss those!
Also, Jared is 6'4" lol

This is such a good pilot. I got my best friend hooked with just this episode. I'd only seen part of the first season so I spent some of the few funds I had back in college on buying the season 1 DVD boxset lol. I was determined to binge the full season before the season 2 premiere. She's not a horror fan so a show about brothers that hunt ghosts and other supernatural beings was something she wasn't sure she'd like. I made a deal with her that we'd watch the pilot and if she didn't like it, I'd watch it when she wasn't home. So we watched, Sam slammed the trunk closed at the end, and she turned to me and said "Well what are you waiting for? Start the next one!" You're in for a ride and I'm looking forward to it!

I know you started this a year ago, but I just found it so im going on the journey with you ( so fun!). I have a photo of the scene where Mary is burning on the ceiling autographed by the actress, Samantha Smith. My daughter met her at a con, got it for me. My daughter (29 at the time with breast cancer) was bald from chemo and Sam was so, so friggin' sweet to her. Held her hand, asked her questions about herself. My daughter was so impressed. A few weeks later Sam announced that she too had breast cancer. My daughter will never forget it. ❤

Glad you enjoyed the first episodes. There are 15 years of fun, scares, and monsters. There are clear reasons for it's longevity. The stories are well done, character evolution is MASSIVE, and the leads just get hotter and hotter over the time of the show. Over the 15 years I watched them, Jared and Jensen get married to beautiful and smart women, they become fathers all while entertaining us. The fans are very dedicated to the show and the boys.

So glad you watched, this is my favorite show. Hope you like jump scares & how they handle each other like brother's. Show has a fan base and they will spoil it, you have been warned. They will ask to if you are a Dean's fan or Sam's! I am both. Though out the episodes, you will find some creatures that you might have heard & people you might recognize. The show will be intense in later episodes. Just enjoy the ride and have someone to help you but, won't spoil it.👻
I started watching from the beginning when it originally aired and faithfully watched it for the next 15 years. I love this show and rewatch it all the time. Sam and Dean are great and the chemistry is awesome. if I were you I would totally stick with it. there are some really great episodes in season 5 and of course season 10

Hi! You will not regret watching this show. I've watched all 15 seasons several times and can't get enough. Jared and Jensen match perfectly and are friends in real life. You'll love it.

And for the height Sam (Jared Padalecki) is 6'4 and Dean (Jensen Ackles) is 6'0.
How they got their roles as Sam and Dean is a funny story because they were the only guys who showed up to the audition and they talked a while before they were called into the audition and were brought into the room with the suits and they read together and instantly had the brother chemistry down. They are so close in real life. At one point they lived (and I still believe they do) next to each other. Their wives are best friends and their kids are best friends too.

I guess you found the series 2 years before me.. I got 13 seasons and up to Byzantium in 14 before running out of new material in 16 days.. and it was their Xmas break.. a whole month before the next episode. I'm in my 11th re-watch and watching a few reactors too.

You are close, but not quite right.
Heaps of actors auditioned for Sam, including Jensen. The first time they met and read together was to audition for the big bosses, and they found out they got their roles at the same time and that the pilot was a go.
LOVED this reaction! This is my favourite show of all time, so I'm always thrilled to find new reactors. Watching people experience the show for the first time, is as close as I can come to getting to relive the show for the first time myself. I can't WAIT to watch the whole series with you!! This show is often hilarious, frequently creepy af, and regularly rip-your-heart out sad. Don't feel bad, the first time I watched it, I was convinced that wasn't their real dad that came out of the flames. But I don't think it's spoiling anything to tell you that it is him. Because that isn't something they try to hide, but it sure did look like he was engulfed!

I love it for a lot of reasons-- the unspoilery ones are excitement over watching a legitimately brilliant cast at work, and crazy sibling relationships are my jam. See also Boondock Saints and The Angry Beavers.

Fun fact, several of my favorite actors make cameos including; Dylan Minnette(Scream 2022, 13 Reasons Why, Goosebumps), Cory Monteith(Glee), and Finn Wolfhard(It, Stranger Things, Ghostbusters Afterlife). Not to mention this tv series has a great cast; Jensen Ackles(Buddy Games), Jeffrey Dean Morgan(The Walking Dead), and Misha Collins(Nip/Tuck).

I love supernatural. I never understood why Sam and Dean never just told people they were private investigators? Or go through the process of becoming real pi's with an office and cards with their real names.

"If there's 15 seasons it has to be good" I am laughing at my own experience in sunk cost fallacy 😅 15 years is a long time, it is hard to remain good for that long- but I hope the journey is fun for you in all it's ups and downs. Having access to all 15 seasons is probably the best way to enjoy it! It's a wacky ride.

Okay, so when Mary, their mom, went to check on Sam, she THOUGHT John (Sam and Dean's dad) was by his crib. Then she heard the TV on, went down the stairs, saw John asleep in his recliner, she knew it WASN'T John by Sam's crib. So she ran upstairs to protect him, and something killed her. When she screaned, it woke John, who instinctively went to check on the baby, figuring he maybe heard him crying. Thats when John found Mary on the ceiling, and whatever had killed her was already gone. Later episodes will reveal how Mary and John became hunters, and you said no spoilers so thats as far as I'll go in explaining.

I’ve watched this on repeat all 15 seasons a couple dozen times if not more and I want more! I love supernatural and I like tvd, originals and legacies!
I started watching during season 8. Immediately became obsessed. I have since watched the entire series every summer for the past 8 summers (haven't started the rewatch this summer, yet, but this may start me...LOL!)
Dean is hilarious - has some of the best, most quotable lines.
Sam is SUPER smart and sensitive - and gives Dean some of the best "I'm done with your shyte" looks I've ever seen on TV
The rest of the recurring guests (some of whom become regular cast members) are fantastic characters played by awesome actors and the writing is some of the best of any series out there. Yes there are some episodes that fall flat and I can think of one season that the overall plot line fell flat - but that season has some truly great episodes in it! - but overall, the series is a truly fantastic one.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, every time I watch it.
Normally I don’t watch new reaction videos like this until a good 8 seasons have been watched- don’t like investing in things that might get dropped- but you are VERY engaging and seem like such a nice person, so I am hyped to join on this ride!
