Nice to see a real American farmer Puts in more hours in a single day than most people put in a month One of my favorite utube farmers right alongside Larsons farms Thanks for taking something of your off time to allow us city folks what's it takes to put milk on our tables Lots of very hard work Not just running down to the corner store So glad we still have farmers who love real farming Thank you so much
I love watching your videos. It makes me so lonesome for the dairy farming life again. I grew up on a dairy farm in Northwestern Wisconsin so it brings back quite a few memories. Thanks for your hard work. I find it all very interesting!
I really enjoy your checking on the progress of your crops. Especially lately where the crops are really growing fast. Sure hope you get some rain.Great to see the new silo operating well for you. Keep cool, thanks for another great video and see you on the next one.
Nice video Eric. It seems to me that you're talking more to us instead of at us. I think It's much more personable and I like it better. Looking forward to the new feeder and everything with it. Good job. Thanks for sharing your life with us!!
How are you feeling after your stint in the hospital? Your voice sounds better then it did right afterwards. I hope you're on the mend. Take care of yourself.
I love seeing the crop status. I always enjoy the few minutes you spend on the crop analysis. Looks like you need to air up the tires on the feed tractor a bit.
Hey Eric, I have been coming to the produce auction by you for roughly 3-4 years and just this year I noticed the silos in the distance and never knew you were that close lol. I’m in Fredrick Md and come up every week. I would love to stop by and say hi sometime!
Y’all must have a lot of iron in your wells too. Here in South Central Va. we have a lot of dissolved in our well water. It look clear but after a while you’ll have reddish stains appear on solid surfaces.
Your crops are looking a lot better than ours in East Tennessee. We’ve not had rain in almost 5 weeks. It’s not going to be a good year for our silage this year.
Nice update, Eric. I have a couple of questions. "Dry cow feed" ( I'm guessing here). Cows that have stopped producing. What do you do with them? I'm sure you dont just keep them around and keep feeding them. Also, do you have to have a vet show up once a month or so to check your herd over. Just curious. Very impressed with this whole operation. Ultra violet light water treatment, setting up a medicaid water treatment for huff sores. There are so many behind the scenes operations it takes to operate your farm..... Again, it is very interesting!
We stop milking a cow for her last 2 months of pregnancy before she has a calf and starts milking again. Those are called dry cows. Yes we have a vet stop in monthly for pregnancy checks and we discuss any other issues we're dealing with.
The Metals you are Filtering out are Iron and Manganese. They are found in a lot of Ground Water Sources. Your Bacteria issue might be coming from your Inactive Well Line. If its not Closed off Properly any water in that line can go Stagnant and grow bacteria.
100% correct. Most of the aquifer from Maine to Georgia (farther from the coastline) has significant amounts of these metals and are acidic. This past year I installed a superior treatment system to my well (400+ deep) after testing it against the old system and straight well samples. I am pleased with the current purity of what I now have. Everyone with well systems should keep on top of their water quality. Not just the bacteria, but the pH levels of the water, the mineral content and insoluble material may be harmful to the health of people as well as livestock and pets.
Eric your videos are addictive. I just started watching about 2 weeks ago and I have trouble turning them off. There's another young farmer like yourself a young skinny blonde boy but he doesn't make working on a dairy farm half as interesting as you do. Keep up the good work as I continue to look forward to all your videos.
How many square bales duo you shred to fill your bin ? How much duo you use in silage feed ? Do you guys use molasses in your silage feed while you ground silage? Eric that looks like hard lime on the filter . We had the same problem it’s called hard water lime build up . We put bleach down in our well quit a lot of bleach. But depends on how deep your well is 1 gallon for every foot.
The most common mineral found in wells is iron. Probably explains the brown tint on your filter. Might I suggest Installing a flow meter on your inlet side to give you a better indication of when to change your filter. I have the double filter housing, one charcoal for the chlorine and bone char for the fluoride. Why our board of water continues to poison us is beyond me. Those filters arent cheap so, knowing when to change them when they reach their intended gallon limit is nice.
Sad to see that some people still believe the fluoride is somehow harmful for you. Reminds me of the 1950s when the John Birch Society was telling people it was a government plot to sap our vital body fluids.
@@robbybachmann8061 Yes they are but pressure gauge are actually better to give you true idea. It is all based on how bad your water is so if it is not to bad you change it less. with it is bad you need to change it sooner.
Do they take the string off the bales before chopping it or is it a special string? or just so little it has no effect on the feed? Just wondering, baling twine is my best friend, never go anywhere without it or second best cable ties.
Have you thought about giving your dad a camera full time and create him his own channel. It would be cool it do a ride along on one of your cows during a milking cycle like cows eye view

Beautiful and happy cows. I love your videos and your work. Congratulations to you and your family, small and large
Some was even tail waggin'....go watch....✅️👍👀🤣🙂🙃😂🤣
Hi Eric, the crops are doing very well, can't wait to see the new system at work. Up here in Minnesota we have a lot of iron and lime in our water.
Eric, will you have a system at your house to monitor your new feeding system if something goes wrong?
That Big Blue is what I use for my whole house filter. Thanks for the video 👍
WOW, that corn looks perfect!
Many acres of crops replanted here in tropical Minnesota. The rivers are receding now but everything is far behind.
Amazing how clean your farm is and the care you give your livestock great job.
So excited to see this farm transform!!
In Central Virginia the corn has already tasseled. A lot of hot weather, significant rain and corn are very happy plants.
Come to Central MN, we can't get the rain to stop this year.
Very nice camera on your unloader. Appears to take a lot of the guess work out
its is so nice to follow farming by your videos

Thanks prayers for rain.😊
Always a complete pleasure to watch your wholesome videos. Good work always shines bright!
Skid steer operation should be a new olympic event. Most large farms have them, but Eric operates his like a maestro.
Have fun in the winter with the feeder they really dont like ice or snow but glad to see it all comjng together for you
Stay at it Eric, Your operation is very impressive.
That skidloader is the real MVP man get that thing some oil and a nice wash it deserves it 👍🏼 god bless you
That corn and the beans definitely looking awesome big time putting soon it will be time for harvest time
Harvest or golf??!?
Crops look great. Always nice to see!
Ah .... crop tours???
YES PLEASE !!!
And THANK YOU so much for getting true farm condtions out into the public view!!! Missing the work!

I like seeing the fields
Keep them coming brother from the imperial county California 👍🇺🇲
I used to have a dairy farm in Scotland before I retired to France. I really enjoy your videos and the new technology. Your crops are looking good
Great Video, Good to see the renovations for the drainage and tracks going well, thanks for sharing
Love the scouting! Great progress.

Eric, The crop of Corn field look good. Good news about the preperration being made for the paving project. I am happy for you.

Getting closer to the auto feeder becoming a reality, good luck. Thanks and have a good weekend!

I know I enjoy the crop scouting. So interesting to see the huge changes in the plants! Also thought heel warts/strawberries were technically ulcers?
This one viewer loves seeing the growth of the fields too.
:45 Interesting? You kidding? Nice photography. Totally took me back to playing in my uncle's corn field - and that was about 55 years ago.
Eric - With regards to cow comfort, have you noticed a lower temperature in the barn with the solar panels on it?
We have noticed minimal difference
With how their barn roof is setup most of the roof heat would never make it deeper into the barn.
Great video as always. You sure never run out of work of some kind that has to be done.♥
Life is polar opposite of a farmer. That’ll change soon though.
Farming a small produce farm over here in Berks County. Hot as hell bro!! Good luck with everything!

We really like the crop shots
I'd love to see the baler that makes those huge bales in action!
Wow, when you’re finished making all these capital improvements, you’ll really have an even more efficient operation ✅
Beautiful looking corn and soy beans. Great video. God Bless.
113 degrees yesterday where I am. Stay cool!
Your welcome to send some of that sunshine 🌞 to the UK Eric ,it’s not made much of an appearance this summer 🌦️
Love this channel
awesome video Eric. Thank you
Eric are you completely over being sick. Hope you had a great 4th.

Hard to beat farm life. :)
@@beckyumphrey2626 I think you mean “ farm life hard” 😂
I know that I didn't.
@@maniachill3069I used to farm land by the sandy river

He has a gauge on each side of the filter that lets him know when it needs to be changed.

pls take some of our rain! we are being hammered up here in the prairies.
Can't believe we are becoming an automated system now!! Wow!! We are in the FUTURE NOW
Pretty soon, he can be a keyboard warrior, controlling all his devices and cows from a man cave in his home basement😂
We got the rain in Ephrata
Nice we got some good rains this week too
Hopefully, you are getting rain. God bless. ❤❤❤❤
We love your content! 🏴 xx
Great video and I love the crop update
was lookin forward to this
That Kubota puts in almost as many hours in as you do! How many years have you had that now? Seems like l remember you guys buying it? 🤔
Thanks for another sweet video

Do you ever get rocks in the feed from using the skid steer to fill ?
that buildup on your filter is a mix of oxidized iron and a mineral called vermiculite.
Another very interesting video Thank you 😊😊😊😊😊
Here in the Chicago area we would want that water back so that we could treat it and use it for drinking water
Great video. Hope yall got some rain.
Great video…..

VERY PROUD OF Y'ALL 😅😊🎉🎉❤
water is a must for farming, in Idaho the government took the water away from farmers on 500k acres they had already planted
Is the door missing from the JD tractor?
Would have been nice to have a video camera on our ring drive unloaders, would have saved a lot of hassle!
Thanks
Will you be selling that Hoover defacer when you are done with bunks? I’d be interested in it if so
Yes send me an email. ericdairy10@gmail. com
Greetings from Turkey. How do you farm corn without water?
We usually get enough rain here
another great video!!
Hi, just wondering what the black lines on the bottom of the corn in the bunker silo is?
Its just a shadow because we dug a little extra out of the bottom with the bucket.
Hi Eric. Are use chemical fertilizers for your corn, or just use manure?
How often do y'all get report on water sample/quality
YES, KEEP GIVING UPDATE ON CROP PROGRESS...😅😊😅😊🎉❤
That there is iron!
Have you thought about giving your dad a camera full time and create him his own channel. It would be cool it do a ride along on one of your cows during a milking cycle like cows eye view
How tall are the new silos?
132 feet
I didn’t see anyone taking the strings off the bales?
All good!
What is the compositionof the mineral special precalving cow?
Great video as always
+1 crop scouting
Great videos. Florida Joe
Curious from an other livestock grower is that just a uv light that it goes through?
Yes it is
