I think the headbutt only generates temporary interest, the type that doesn’t convert into money. A friend of mine who does not follow boxing saw it in the news the other day and sent me a link because he knows I’d be interested.
1) I’d actually seen it earlier because I’m glued to boxing.
2) while my mate and I discussed it, it wasn’t enough to get him interested (even though I tried to hype the magnitude of Saturday’s event) and therefore he will not be paying to watch it.
I don’t think big John can take any credit for extra sales - especially at this late stage. I reckon the people who follow boxing 🥊 have already signed up to watch (I did weeks ago).
