The Engineers and the Space Jockey from the original Alien are different sizes simply because Ridley wanted a large person to play an Engineer. Maybe down the line, theyll make something up to explain the difference.
@@alisdairherd9501 I don't know about that. In the original Alien film the Engineer itself is much, much, larger than the Engineers in Prometheus. Ridley didn't want to use CGI. He wanted an actual person to play an Engineer. So they used the biggest guy they could find to wear the costume.

In regards to what information we have we have to be Careful of the one Script (Orange) it is likely a Fan Edit, as Lindeloff had confirmed that the other two are the only ones released out there and they lacked some of the Elements of the Orange Draft. But indeed while not supporting that Draft... Ian Whyte and Michael Fassbender did have a Longer back and Forth Conversation but we dont have the details of what was said. Daniel Twiss (Sacrificial Engineer) had learned a few lines of a Alien Language and had a small Conversation with the Elder Engineer but this was never shown... one Page from a unreleased Draft had a bit of this Dialog... but it was not as Long as the Orange Draft which is very likely to be Fan Additions.
The Orange Draft is definitely a fan script written by Mark McAllister, the same guy who wrote the much earlier fan script that fooled aintitcoolnews among others. While many people had guessed Mark was the author of the Orange Draft based on misspellings it has in common with his earlier script, such as 'illuminous', we only got final confirmation a few weeks ago when he identified himself as the author.

Hi, I really like your videos on engineers, I’ve watched them all! Despite the criticism of Promotheus and Alien Covenants I still found that the story of the engineers and the origin story of the xenomorph was very interesting, a lot of people didn't like it these films there are too many LORE The spectators don't like it, they watch the film and Tik tok at the same time, what they want is creatures and jumps because there's no interesting story...... Thank you very much for continuing to explain the enigmatic behavior of engineers, David the android your videos are fascinating!!! I hope you excuse my very bad English I'm a stupid French guy 🤪😁🤘🏼💥👌🏼☮️
OMG...wonderful expose, bringing more relevant details than most could sensibly surmise by watching the movies! You've certainly identified plenty of logical possibilities for new, big screen stories. Great work, Kroft!
Ah Man, I've been subscribed to your channel far many years now and somehow the algoritm keeps pushing your vids everytime you upload a Prometheus themed video. I lov your content and I still hold hope Scott will get another crack on the trilogy. Keep um coming bro!
The Biomechanical "Suits" seem to be part of the body. What if those engineers are the bioengineered equivalent of Droids? Doing those "jobs" that are dangerous. The sacrificial one could be a "perfect" being one created to do exactly what he did in the movie. If they lost the ability to recreate naturaly, then that could explain why they possibly do it that way. Oh and if Scott mentioned that other engineers would return to paradise, then it is possibly that the inhabitants simply assumed it was them and not a psychopathic human constructed droid.
I'm happy you said that their based on the Annunaki. It's the first thing I thought of when I saw the Engineers at the beginning of the movie. For those that don't know the story: The Annunaki came to earth from what we see called "Planet 9". or back in the day called Nibiru or Planet X. This planet has a massive elliptical orbit of thousands of years and only close to earth every 3600 of years or so. Well getting close to Earths orbit the Annunaki at the time used their primitive space ships and rocketed to earth to mine gold to fix their atmosphere. Eventually their workers rebelled and created a hybrid of primitive humans and half Annunaki. Leading to the first homo-sapiens, or modern humans today. The first humans could not re-produce and lived a Hella long time. However, they eventually changed our genome again giving us the ability to reproduce hence Adam and eve. Eventually Adam and eve stole ability to know the different between good and evil, and the wisdom of the gods getting them kicked out of Enki's Eden. Eventually the Annunaki got sick of our shit and our shellfish nature and decided it was time to wipe the slate clean and cause the great flood. Note: Gold blocks infrared and ultraviolet radiation which is why its used in a lot of space crafts and satellites today. Note 2: Astro physics today are seeing massive gravitation anomalies in our outer solar system today that conclude their must be a massive object that is causing gravity at the end of the solar system to go nuts. Note3: Scientist over in iraq area found a layer in the soil that would prove their was a massive flood about 12 thousand years ago, but limited to the area. u.osu.edu/vanzandt/2019/03/01/zecharia-sitchin-and-our-alien-anecestors/comment-page-1/ Also a quick thing: I posted in another one of Kroft video's about those aliens that David destroyed point for point, so its amazing to see on the screen as well :D Those aliens if created the way we were would evolve the same way we did to survive earth. There skin color, heights, movements and eye color would all evolve over time to fit the environment they live.
That's just a hobbling of fifteen different religions translated to English. Annunaki are from a older book of Jewish faith, known as the books of Enoch. ANU, is a word for the one God of Sumeria, just....stop okay. Take a few religion/history/philosophy classes before you ever talk again
Thanks Kroft for another great video ! I think if if another prequel is made ( l really hope so) you could definitely be of great benefit on their team.
The Engineer at the end of Covenant had this special type of bio-mechanical suit, but the detail that caught my eye is said suite was the neck. It shows that the suit may be more "integral" to the user's body than just an outfit.
When David was such a big character in the trailers for Prometheus I really thought he'd have got facehugged and the mix of his body would create a biomorph alien. Could have done it in one movie LOL
Considering the Xeno's always "cocoon" the hosts I wonder if the appearance of the original jockey had something to do with them attempting to encase it without being able to move it
The Elder Engineers were interesting, what the Idea behind them were they were just Older versions of the Sacrificial Engineer, the Engineers Aged like us only they lived for Thousands of Years. It was indicated that indeed they lost the ability to procreate Sexually. But it was indicated that they had other ways to Procreate (Clone more likely). The Sacrificial Scene was intended to show us that this is the Process of how they would Create Life and Evolve it.. using a Creation Tool (Goo, Worms, Scarabs). RS felt like the Elders scene gave away too much, which he wanted to hold back for a Sequel. He was not satisfied with how the Elders came across and said he never wanted to meet God (the God's) in the First Movie. Thus indicating that the Engineers in Prometheus where a Sub Creation of whatever RS was going to SHOW us the Elders were (or who will replace them as Promethues Engineers Creators).
I love your videos! I’m super happy when they come out I’m a big fan of alien etc and your videos the music you use in the background is so ominous and makes the alien universe feel so real and deep! Keep using this song! I try to download it places but you can only find it on the free website I can’t download it there😂 I hope we get a really good sequel with more engineers like they said we would and find out more of the story I fear we will never find out more
I'm sure that other people have speculated about the Engineer's space ships in the past but I haven't seen that yet. I think that there are definitely (at least) two engineer factions based on their space ship designs. The faction that creates life has a space ship that is a round disc. The faction that destroys life has a space ship that is shaped like the letter C. The inside of a C is a round disc. Also, the two different space ships are made out of a different materials. That is probably representative of their different ideology.
david being the jockey in alien 1 makes so much sense. cuz if david created the xenomorph it explains how they got to the planet in Alien 1. wouldn't've make sense if it was an engineer now that we know the xenomorph origin
It's awesome to see someone still talking about these movies. I would love if Ridley Scott just explained it all instead of leaving it up in the air. Hopefully, Alien: Romulus doesn't disappoint 🤞
I find it implausible that an advanced race like the engineers would not be able to clone and otherwise molecularly engineer something as biologically simple as a creature's blood.
Pre re-marketing of the the Alien Franchise within a film platform, the original space jockey was much more enigmatic, and I think much more outreaching and innovative in concept. The information given, and the knowledge that we have about the xenomorphs to this point( and lets remember that this just a film) suggest that they mimic/combine with their last host to assist them in adapting to their new environment. A great survival mechanism. I always supposed that the original very large "space jockey" was somehow part of a species that adapted their form to meet their needs as they arose, or were somehow genetically engineered to meet a particular task. Now let's look at a scenario where the space jockey and the ship are one, it appears that the jockey is part and parcel of the ship itself. This entire "ship" is an adaptation that arose for space travel, much like ant/termite alates have wings that assist in a particular task, reproduction, this species needs the juggonaught/jockey to achieve space travel, hence the continuity of the biomechanical appearance of the entire ship. It's organic, an entity that has a specific task. Now add this biomechanics entemogical type into the xenomorphs pool and you get the Xenomorph that we now know. I thought that the whole shrinking of the jockey and the other blatant changes of the Alien lore to create these increasingly inferior films cheapened and drastically minimised some very grand and innovative concepts from the original film. Seemed like a Groundhog Day of action drama cliches in the end.
Would love to see you cover the beings at the end of alien dark descent and the idea of space jockies being a seperate species that the engineers may have stumbled across - saw lots on reddit about this idea
Hope Ridley Scott gets to complete the story he has envisioned in his mind as I liked both Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. I loved how they are prequels, yet not really at all; being stories told in the same universe just a bit earlier in history. It is clear to me that the derelict ship on LV-426 came from the same event depicted holographically on LV-223 (during Prometheus), so the Xenomorph eggs found in Alien and again by Newt's parents in Aliens, were deposited by Xenomorphs as created by the Engineers. I am curious to see what David does with his variant of Xenomorphs, naturally he would build a hive out of the colonists at the colony they are supposed to be making on Oregai 6, but we may never know.
The Original Space Jockey was a Enigma, the way it was Crafted we could not Quite work out what was the Pilot and what was the Chair... the Space Jockey had gone through Changes, originally yes they were a Race of Space Explorers. With latter Ridley Grams (Story Board) showing the Skeletal remains of another Outside. But when RS got HR Giger in to Design the Space Jockey the Concept he came up with looked more like a Suit.... the actual Prop was Painted in a more Bone Colour which led to many Speculate and Interpret the Space Jockey as the Skeletal remains of a Giant Race. However some Elements of the Skeleton do not match what Bones should look like... but hey this is Sci-Fi. Other Concept work by HR Giger indeed indicated that the Space Jockey was a Bald Humanoid in a Space Suit.
I would like to know when is the next instalment of this brilliant series of movies going to be released. I can only hope that it’s going to be released in the movie theatre. Not on a subscription service. Thanks for posting. I always look forward to analysis👍👍👍
I thing that botheres me with the whole are the xnomorph a creature they worshipped or somethin they made by mistake or the perfect being is how it is clear it was supposed to be one of of these, but because the studio, fans and maybe Ridley Scott was unsure about the lore, all three has been mixed up and weakened Prometheus as a stand a lone story. :/ Btw i know Prometheus has its flaws, but i would love to see it remaked with all the deleted scene and a coherent world building. Then i think it would be a bange first contact ancient alien move. :)
I like the idea of the 223 engineers being compared to human androids, but still orgnanic with dna. I also thibk the suit they sport is organic and the last puzzle piece missing towards the final xenomorf. I reallt hope those missing details are not from David, which clearly has no dna, but from the "enhanced" engineers
The theory that there are different castes makes sense. I'll add this part: the 'Geers were really unto genetic engineering. They engineered at least the explorer/pilot caste. That's why they're so different. The Planet 4 beings could be 'Geers if this is the case. I also think the pilot class are a *military* caste, not a scientific one.
What a cool video! Kroft's UA-cam channel has really boosted my understanding and appreciation of the Alien etc movies and media. I don't really worry about Scott changing his mind about backstory/lore, and inconsistencies. That said, I do like speculating. I like to think of the Engineers as all religious/prejudiced to some degree, in that they are disastrously prejudiced against synthetic life form creation. In my interpretation, David follows their lead, because David has a deep hatred of his creators so he does not wish to copy their method of creating new life. David has no idea of any other ways to create life, though, so he copies the methods of the Engineers. The irony is that synthetics truly were the next evolutionary leap forward, as seen in Alien: Resurrection. While previous generations of synths were flawed, they improved themselves by creating new synths themselves. I like to think that this was a future that the Engineers anticipated, but they were horrified at the possibilities due to their prejudices. They would rather die out than allow synthetics to succeed them. Of course, the synth Cole is not the only "survivor" in Alien: Resurrection. There's also the hybrid Ripley, which can be seen as the ultimate success of the Engineer's biological approach. Either way, it's deeply ironic that the Engineers judged humanity unworthy, because ultimately humans succeeded where they failed - both in creating successful synthetic life, and succeeding in hybridizing xenomorph DNA into humanoid life.

The origin of how this organism could appear is another story.
The Engineers and the Space Jockey from the original Alien are different sizes simply because Ridley wanted a large person to play an Engineer. Maybe down the line, theyll make something up to explain the difference.
Maybe the seats(?) Are grown to fit the engineer
@@alisdairherd9501 I don't know about that. In the original Alien film the Engineer itself is much, much, larger than the Engineers in Prometheus. Ridley didn't want to use CGI. He wanted an actual person to play an Engineer. So they used the biggest guy they could find to wear the costume.
Maybe the Space jockey is part of dead race if engineers that existed millions of years prior.
Prometheus engineers are weaker descendants? Idk Ridley fucked his own lore up lol
@@pain2573A lot of fans who dislike Prometheus like myself see the Engineers as having risen up against their creators/gods which are the Space Jockeys. Look at the engineer mural in Prometheus, the Engineer is pushing or shoving away the creature as if to say to it, "We no longer need you, WE are the Gods now."
@@saidakhu Thanks for the Confirmation, its a shame so many took this as Legit. I do commend the work done on the Draft. And the Efforts that Kroft has taken with his Videos which use that Draft as information, they likely thought was Legit.
@@saidakhu The actual way to look at LV-223 and those Engineers as far as it seems RS was going for, would be to look at David and his Story Ark. But unfortunately we will likely never see a continuation of RS ideas..
French here 😊
I feel the exact same way abt the engineers /space jockey lore. Stuff is super interesting and wld def watch a full engineer movie
Your English is great better than some of my fellow brits 🤣
How David creating the Xenos is an interesting story?
I think you're giving these Alien/Prometheus Sequel/Prequels too much credit for putting this much thought into 'em
Gotta earn a living somehow. I like that this is an option.
But Kroft it’s bed time😮
😂. Its time for aliens on all channels. ua-cam.com/video/T-kA-Y-iNCg/v-deo.htmlsi=tDbyckNsOknKr6bM
I know right lol
Bed time canceled lol
Don't let the bed 'bugs' bite ;)
The youtube grind never stops
Always good when new Kroft comes out.
Thank you for this very detailed video
OMG...wonderful expose, bringing more relevant details than most could sensibly surmise by watching the movies! You've certainly identified plenty of logical possibilities for new, big screen stories. Great work, Kroft!
thank you for this video, I love anything about the engineers 🙏
Thanks dude, nice to hear from you
Missed your Alien videos. Glad to see you're back.
Your videos are beautyfull, i bet you had so much work on this, it's so well done
Its a good day when kroft awakens from criosleep to tell us interesting sci fi facts. Thank you kroft
Thanks for covering this topic! For me, it was very informative.
Amazing work brother thank you 👍
your voice is relaxing mate keep it up
Ah Man, I've been subscribed to your channel far many years now and somehow the algoritm keeps pushing your vids everytime you upload a Prometheus themed video. I lov your content and I still hold hope Scott will get another crack on the trilogy.
Keep um coming bro!
I love Kroft talks about Alien movie lore.
your videos on Alien and Engineers are the best!!
I enjoy them so much..
Liked and subscribed!
Prometheus was so good ofc not anywhere near alien & aliens but nothing is for a prequel it was insanely good. ❤️ Hate how everyone hates it.
Aliens sucked
The story was very good but the screenplay (dialogues) wasn’t which is a damn shame. So much potential!
Wasnt that interested in the alien movies until i found your channel. Very informative 👏
Much love.
The Dark descent game has its own massive xeno birthed from a gigantic engineer. Not much detail explained but it’s I guess an ancient engineer race.
Just when I thought there are no new interesting videos available on Alien ❤
Time to rise and shine here 🤙
I'm happy you said that their based on the Annunaki. It's the first thing I thought of when I saw the Engineers at the beginning of the movie. For those that don't know the story:
The Annunaki came to earth from what we see called "Planet 9". or back in the day called Nibiru or Planet X.

Also a quick thing: I posted in another one of Kroft video's about those aliens that David destroyed point for point, so its amazing to see on the screen as well :D Those aliens if created the way we were would evolve the same way we did to survive earth.
We definitely need another film, love ridley scotts work esp in newer alien films
Perfect timing , love these videos
Your videos are awesome man, thank you! Keep it up!
Thanks Kroft for another great video ! I think if if another prequel is made ( l really hope so) you could definitely be of great benefit on their team.
Amazing and incredible video, I wish you could direct your own alien movies
The Engineer at the end of Covenant had this special type of bio-mechanical suit, but the detail that caught my eye is said suite was the neck. It shows that the suit may be more "integral" to the user's body than just an outfit.
How come the black goo killed everyone on planet four but it turns everything else into monsters ?
My boi Kroft delivers every time 🔥 keep up the good work bro 😁 i rly like your videos
I Love the movie Prometheus!
Because there is no simple answer to all that!
When David was such a big character in the trailers for Prometheus I really thought he'd have got facehugged and the mix of his body would create a biomorph alien. Could have done it in one movie LOL
Love these vids bruh don't stop
That would be a fascinating concept mirroring gigers idea of biomechanical life
Thank you for your dedication to this, I love it 👊😎💯
Considering the Xeno's always "cocoon" the hosts I wonder if the appearance of the original jockey had something to do with them attempting to encase it without being able to move it
No. It was mummified. Scott took confusing liberties with Prometheus.
Amazing work... thanks 👍
Probably the best take in this comment section
Thanks you
Hi Kroft. Thank you for the, as always, very thorough research. I aprreciate your work and your time.
I love your videos! I’m super happy when they come out I’m a big fan of alien etc and your videos the music you use in the background is so ominous and makes the alien universe feel so real and deep! Keep using this song! I try to download it places but you can only find it on the free website I can’t download it there😂
I hope we get a really good sequel with more engineers like they said we would and find out more of the story I fear we will never find out more
I'm sure that other people have speculated about the Engineer's space ships in the past but I haven't seen that yet.
Thank you so much 😊
It's awesome to see someone still talking about these movies.
I would love if Ridley Scott just explained it all instead of leaving it up in the air.
Hopefully, Alien: Romulus doesn't disappoint 🤞
Looks like Disney does not want to finish the last pre sequel - Alien Awakening!😂
In Alien fireteam elite game there are space jockeys, pathogen goo jars and other Prometheus concepts. You should check it out when you can.
Good Video!!!❤
I would like to know when is the next instalment of this brilliant series of movies going to be released.
I can only hope that it’s going to be released in the movie theatre. Not on a subscription service.
Thanks for posting. I always look forward to analysis👍👍👍
Well did young man!
The best part of monsters is the unknow, tell us stories, but leave the mystories.
Kroft youre are the mf man bro !! 💚 still dropping that fire no cap ! Keep up the great work 🙇🏻♂️
I thing that botheres me with the whole are the xnomorph a creature they worshipped or somethin they made by mistake or the perfect being is how it is clear it was supposed to be one of of these, but because the studio, fans and maybe Ridley Scott was unsure about the lore, all three has been mixed up and weakened Prometheus as a stand a lone story. :/
Btw i know Prometheus has its flaws, but i would love to see it remaked with all the deleted scene and a coherent world building. Then i think it would be a bange first contact ancient alien move. :)
I'm on board with that
11:46 Good. They had it coming.
Best video
I like the idea of the 223 engineers being compared to human androids, but still orgnanic with dna. I also thibk the suit they sport is organic and the last puzzle piece missing towards the final xenomorf. I reallt hope those missing details are not from David, which clearly has no dna, but from the "enhanced" engineers
It would be really interesting to find out David was actually the Space Jockey from Alien 😮
No. That ship was incredibly ancient. Thousands upon thousands of years old.
@@sonofeyeabovealleffoff5462 I know it couldn't really be David, just the implausiblility made it seem interesting
Kroft huge fan
