China’s New Silk Road (2019)
Director: Elvire Berahya Lazarus
Genre: Documentary
Country: France
Language: English
Release Date: January 20, 2019 France (internet)
Synopsis:
Chinese president XI Jinping has named it the ‘project of the century.’ Since 2013 China has invested billions into bringing the ‘Middle Kingdom’ to the forefront of global economics and international politics.
What China has baptised ’The New Silk Road’ allows a pair of trainers to be transported by train from China to France in less than two weeks. But they also act as a vehicle for a wave of Chinese expansionism across the world.
In Gwadar, Pakistan, China is excavating a giant port, as well as a spectacular highway that crosses the Himalayas, in order to open the doors to the warm seas. At the limits of their Russian borders in central Asia, along a new railway line that serves Europe, Chinese entrepreneurs have installed special economic zones and casinos in the middle of the desert. Further afield than Beijing, in Djibouti, on the Horn of Africa, the Chinese state has recently established a military port, a stone’s throw from the American and French bases, as well as building an ultra modern railway serving Ethiopia. In the wake of these movements, Chinese businesses are swooping down on east African markets, hoping to make the region one of the new workshops of the world.
Reviews:
"It owns almost 3/4th of some of the African countries debt.. in next 15 years, it has planned to invest $62 billions in Pakistan on railway tracks and few 'not yet disclosed' projects.. under One Belt One Road (OBOR) initiative which was started 8 years ago, it is developing a strategic global infrastructure and started investing in close to 70 countries!!! OBDR or better known as new Silk Road, it has laid down the 10,000 kms long railway track that is carrying all its goods from its southwestern city to Germany taking 15 days with 60 drivers take shifts.... There is no product or commodity that this monstrous red giant can nor make or produce or sell!!!! Not only satellites, cars or cloths but also any other country-specific staple food products as halal meat that it launched in Pakistan!!! It is targeting to capture the electric cars market as it manufactures (Changan) cars that cost 1/3rd of any European or American electric car! This manufacture has a capacity to produce 1 car every 53 seconds!!!!!!
Imagine a life in 2040... when Chinese would be an international language alongside English, most of the working people in the world will be reporting to Chinese bosses, Chinese New Year would be an international festival, the local skills, talents, businesses will become a history, China will preside at UN , NATO, WTO .... May have overstated and exaggerated but what a horrifying picture .. just imagining it makes our blood run cold... Watch *China's New Silk Road*"

I am watching this from India, I think CHINA is on the benchmark when it comes to Master Development + a Human History can see till date. Absolutely outstanding on their achievements and people's spirits.
World dominance is US mindset, world prosperity is what Chinese people do.
❤Precisely
China wants all to be happy
Agreed

The unspoken in the north west ghosted in your own country. Kept in camps

Stop the fentanel
Everyone's shit stinks
The reporter was so rude when he was interviewing the boy (when I was young....).
China is not a colonial power like France Uk and USA that siezes kingdom of Hawaii.
Not only Hawaii, but also most of Asia, even China, Australia, Africa, US itself, S America,.....
Hawaii was actually seized buy just local white people that then asked America to annex the islands. It actually took some time and debate before Congress decided to make it a territory. It wasn't arranged but the US government. Just kinda fell into it. It's not common history but look into it. Also look up how Panama was created. That's truly an American created country. Hint it was part of Columbia before.
I really admire China and the Chinese people 👏
Let me just ask. European and US products floading each country is good, Chinese product twice cheaper going everywhere is bad for the world right? Western world need to see the doctor.
Agree and disagree, typically European products are much costlier than any local product, so they cant flood a market with cheap goods!
US and West European cars are exorbitant overpriced. For too long. This greed corporate culture had for too long enjoyed by them. Thank to China, now better and cheaper in every imaginable produces she sells to the world. That is so noble and praiseworthy in human virtue and value. Blessed China.
Viva China 🇨🇳🧠🧠🧠💪👍👏🙏❤️😎🍻😎🍻😎🍻
❤Viva China
Don't put bias ir a spin in your report. The affordable evs is to help to save the planet to meet its zero emissions target and every leaders dhould support it if they don't have alternatives.
The roads, the ports, etc are bidirectional and goods can go in & out, its the dissission of the people, its a free ways. These are infrastructure are step stone of country progresses& development.
These are the western colonial countries doing and expect other to follow, unlike China, they don't do thing the same as the western colonisers.
Exactly, but the west wants to be number one even if it means destroying the competitor instead of co-operating for the benefit of mankind
Most other countries hate Chinese people. All East Asian countries, South East Asian countries hate Chinese people. They are hard working and never spend the money.
Yes, this video/channel is biased against China. Listen carefully, and you hear words and statements against China sneakily slotted into the so called "documentary".
The Baloch rebels are misguided and fighting with funds from western countries. These rebels on behalf of their sponsors doesn't want Gawader port to work efficiently.
But these rebels will be eliminated in some time. This port is beneficial for Balochistan, Pakistan an China. It will have far reaching positive effects for people of Pakistan and Balochistan specially.
Thanks for highlighting our flash points.
Yes those so-called Baloch rebels are actually US and other imperialist supported and backed terrorists.
India is the major sponsor for the Baloch, indian said that!
I am watching this from India. We are down so bad compared to China
China friend Pakistan. No India friend. China great big powerful country.
Yeah instead of showing red eye and 52 inch chest better be coperative with chinese. India would have lift people out of proverty long time back but due to indian attitiude and mentality it is still poor and lag behind.
@@liquidswordfishthis is not true. Pakistan was very cooperative with China for all these years, yet they have lower GDP per Capita than India
@@blazkowicz666doesnt matter to which country we cooperate with, the main problem is the internal affairs. philippines for example, they are cooperate with the US for 126 years and still poor. As long as there are so many corrupted gov officials any country cannot grow well
Pakistan had higher gdp per capita than India in 1960s but later on corrupt leaders ruined the economy and merit. Many Pakistani politicians have millions of dollars in foreign countries.
“Driving the farmers out”! Really sick and tired of these same old drills n lies. Can’t you medias lie something new?
❤well said
Chinese men work hard and never spend any money. That is why they are hated by the local people.
This documentary must be be made around 2017, using videos from even much earlier period. In the video Chongqing Raffles City tower (the linked 3 high rising buildings with a swimming pool in the sky) was still under construction. One belt road initiative was announced in 2012. And the Chinese military has been stationed in Djibouti since 2016. We’re already at the end of 2024 so soon this video is 10 years old. 😅
I see lot of old videos with recent date on this channel.
What the Chinese are doing in Africa is really great. Strong leadership, that is the right way.
🤣🤣🤣😂😂
How come western media doesn’t cover this 😅?
@@socarsocar601 but they reported it in a different light or packaging. they left out the good and focused on the bad and that is a threat to national and econimic security
Watching for the west... we see things 2
Than you China, for uplifting poor parts of the world, only request is dont colonize these countries like the West did. Development and prosperity is the only way.
This is an old video. What year was it ?
1997
In all industrial development whether in the West or in the East agriculture give way to industrial sites for further industrial development. A government with good foresight should have a good policy in place to protect her own interests which will always have to be balanced with the citizens' interest and for the long term developments of the nation.
Don’t worry…USA had 700+ military bases & ports around the world…& still increasing.
🤔
What your point
Fantastic news
China trades, not plunder.
Of course they plunder but in a more sneakier way. They are cunning. They are not brutes like US but they have only one goal and that is world dominance.
Very interesting
Neo colonialism at its peak . China is doing exactly what former colonial states are doing today through global economic structure . Such a complex thing it is . On one hand , there is a hope for potential prosperity but on the other a sad reality of losing all that you have .
Really nice documentary. Very objective POV!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Fucked up how they’re using Africa. I wish everyone could eat together 🙏🏾
Absolutely leadership
Go China !!
🍉🌍
❤well said.
Working hard and to a schedule is vital. That is a fact. The Chinese are successful because they are disciplined and hardworking.
The role of leadership is to lead and put into position structures that improve output. If you spend your day doing the work - as a worker - then the entire organisation suffers.
African Leadership should definitely wake up - and learn from the Chinese.
But there is always a price to be paid for those "Higher-leaders" who perhaps play a double game. (Like the English, the French and the Russians before and still.)
Everywhere there is a price to be paid when you choose not to be farsighted. (Africans should know by now!!)
* "The Simpsons" ;

Mega .
Great documentary.
why is the western media always cynical about developments in various regions initiated by China? Isn't equitable development very good to do for the sake of shared economic progress?
China is great.
How much time does it take to recharge the electric vehicle after each 286 miles when traveling between two metropolitan cities, such as Chicago to New York City or Dallas, TX, if you want to reach your destination during the daytime?
I appreicate the reporting and the risk the reporter took especially in Gwadar, dodging the Pakistani intelligence agencies. I truly believe that they will show the same dedication in reporting about Gazans and their lives.
"Able to produce a car every 53 seconds"
China is a real super power, stll not known❤❤❤❤
I remember watching this video 2 or 3 years ago on UA-cam.
super
Already seen this documentary.
Its an old one.
You like how you lost to them ?
They as in Western imperialists lost to China because nobody likes the imperialists and their imperialist ways. People want development and progress and not Western propaganda and imperialism.
But how safe are these EV's?😢
Lack of transparency around the published date of these kinds of videos.
The release date of the documentary is in the description of the video
One simple question, what have we done for the world, the poor, Southeast Asia, Middle East and the rest of the world while it enjoyed prosperity for the last 200 years? Second, why do we have ~800 KNOWN military bases around the world? Now for China, what has China done to Africa and poor countries around the world? What we don't understand is that 250 yrs of Democracy cannot be pushed upon a 5000 year old culture, and say for certain we are the best. We cannot tolerate the rise of another country that is better than us, we cannot tolerate win win. In the western society, we fear the winner but look down upon the loser - or "Dog's point of view" that's how it is interpreted in the East. Dog will pick on the one that wear raggy cloth but fear you if you beat him with a stick. Do we really have freedom of speech say whatever we want? Do we not have totalitarism? Can one person/president do as he wish? :) Freedom to feel safe? We have lots of problem. Let's focus on our own business and help the world. If China's silk road, opening of panama for them can bring the world out of poverty, I say let's help them do it. Because we certainly haven't done anything for 200 years! :) Exception for S. Korea, Japan and Taiwan, Philippines soon all bow to us... :)
It is silly to compare a developing country like China with more than a billion inhabitants to a developed country like the USA with 3rd of China's population. The USA is an advanced economy that has ripened over 2 or 3 centuries. China has a long way to go even if it keeps up at the current pace. USA military might, allies, networking, influence, geography, power, and intelligence is unmatchable. China does not have any of that. And no i'm neither Chinese nor American.
It depends on what you are comparing to. On per capita GDP, China has a long…way to go. On ability to make things, China has exceeded US and Japan. China has still room to grow as it’s trying to grow economic corridors through BRI and its own interior.
China surpassed the U.S. already they don’t care about competition they just want more partners till poverty is gone
Quality of Quantity..😮a car every that fast is down right😅scary 😅
you can always stick to your expensive ICE vehicles. No one is forcing you to buy a chinese EV
Benefiting china.....all along the route.
An old video, now being rehashed.
One advantage of traditional cars is that you can drive from New Jersey to Chicago or Dallas in a single day with minimal delays for refueling. In contrast, with an electric vehicle, recharging to 80% after driving approximately 286 miles can take roughly one hour.
Cute traditional cars cost more to operate and buy you can just stop already
That traditional car is much more expensive that electric cars.
@@sthembisomthembu395 In America, electric vehicles (EVs) are generally more expensive than traditional cars. While there are indications that EV prices are starting to decrease, many models still carry a premium compared to their gasoline counterparts. Factors such as battery costs and advanced technology contribute to the higher price point.
Imagine that a western country like USA or a European country would do this, they will say that the history will go back 300 years.
A BBC CNN DW style title more suitable for this documentary "China’s New Silk Road, But what is the cost?"
😂😂
The rich Chinese businessman in Ethiopia seems sleazy as fxck.... I feel for the poor, especially the farmer / landowner in Ethiopia, forced to sell his land and loss of livelihood and the fisherman in Pakistan who will lose their livelihood too...there should be better compensation as well as relocation for the displaced.... something equal to what they have lost, not some shit land that's good for nothing... it's always the poorest who pay the most, for so called progress...
