Milo S he mentioned this when talking about Druid’s Breath of Dreams. It was one of the earlier cards revealed, and trump more or less said “I’m calling it now- Dragon Druid is tier 1”. Little did he realize the insanity that was to be revealed later.
I partially disagree. The classes he reviewed in this video were weak by their own merits. None of these cards would have seen play in standard even before the month of Evolve Shaman.
I meaan anything's going to do it it's a 7 manaa draw 2 backstab, 2 shadowstep, make them cost 0 lol. Because you know if you have any of those left in your deck those are exactly the cards you will draw with Galakrond
@Roxio Forsen4ever I was kidding somewhat. I just feel like Rogue is really the only class that doesn't have a decent deck already worked out for the expansion. I'm sure there is one out there. But their cards seem to be about adding loads of Lackey's and cheap cards to hand but then the Galakrond also draws you upto 4, so you want a mostly empty hand to do that. So i'm not sure where the synergy is lol, or the win condition.

We always have to stick with meme decks or tempo, which is the only archetype ever for a class that dies to anything because it lacks taunt, heal or board clears. :(
I still can't get over HoFing Vanish. Such flavorful card that also widened the class's possibilities! It was clearly because of Zephrys not "class identity"
@@joaovictor_of To be honest they could have just excluded Vanish from the Zephrys pool just like Shadowstep and the pandas, so that that was maybe a stretch on my part. Anyway, there is always Wild where I can Vanish my Coldlight Oracles to my heart's content. Unless they get Explosive Rune'd and the Vanishes Counterspelled, of course.
It's biggest issue is the lower cost a dragon synergy card is, the more likely it is to fail. Especially as a buff. If we assume we want to play cards earlier, especially when a +1/+2 is more relevant, it becomes more variable as to whether you have a dragon in hand by turn 2 or 3, compared to turn 5 or 6 where you have more time to draw into one. I could have seen a world where it gets run at 1 in a few decks if it didn't have the dragon tag, but with it, it becomes too unreliable.
I can't wait to play Galakrond Jenkins OTK Priest. Weaver x2 to make Leeroy, Grave Rune, and Smite cost less (3, 2, 2, 0 to be precise), then: Leeroy, hit face, Rune x2, smite the leeroy, hit face for a total of exactly 30 damage. The galakrond stuff will help you stay alive until you draw the combo, and can sometimes win by itself.
I was actually considering Fate Weaver, Leeroy, Embalming Ritual, Grave Rune and Wretched Reclaimer. Also a 30 damage face combo without needing both Grave Runes, making it a bit more flexible imo.

Lawson Tse yeah but it’s a bit underwhelming and inconsistent. Chances that even if you have a Tal and seance in hand, not only do most classes have a way to deal with that kind of board multiple times but you would have to give them time for you to get your hand filled with minions again. That alone might take you 3 to 4 turns in which you can’t play the cards you got from your hero power or heal because your hero power changed. Idk maybe I’m thinking about this from a skewed perspective but it just seems so lackluster
You misunderstand Galakrond Rogue. It's about getting a huge tempo swing on the turn you play your Galakrond. Draw 4 free cards, maybe one is Togwaggle, he lets you draw another 4 free cards, you play all those cards and it's just a hell of a lot of power. Maybe one is Kronx who let's you deal 5 damage to face as a Battlecry or give your big board +2/+2 or you summon an 8/8 with Taunt or you could clear the board. Galakrond Rogue is about huge tempo swings, not Value.
Or you don't which makes you cry as your opponent starts insinuating that they slept with your mother leaving you mentally scarred until your best friend cheers you up. You start to grow feelings for them and eventually grow the nerve to confess but they reject you saying they're, "With someone". Then just when you thought you hit rock bottom, your mother walks out and her and your best friend drive off into the sunset all the while laughing, "Galakrond Rogue" leaving your alone, scared, and motherless
@@fosso8803 I came with a couple of examples. As long as the 4 cards you draw aren't shit it's a great tempo swing. Ofcourse some cards like Togwaggle and Kronx could make it an even bigger swing.
It's both funny and sad that the only thing Blizzard seems to have in mind for Priest's class identity, going by the last few expansions, is that their only late game option is to keep clearing the board until you hopefully die of boredom.
I'm so tired of Blizzard giving rogue players insane late game cards just to have to play aggro/tempo because they won't give us survavibility tools for some reason while classes like warrior and shaman get to do whatever they want.
Yah it's really sad, cards like academic and Tak are great it's just a miracle if you survive to play them, they got rid of the only good board clear that wasn't even a board clear...

Amber Watcher is 5 stars. It is not dependant on the dragon tag or heal synergy. You play it as a 4/6 antique healbot in every single midrange or control paladin.
I think Trump is underrating the Galakrond priest a bit. Imagine all the minions you generate throughout the game, all the possible big things. Your endgame would essentially be Princess Talanji, seance, generate more minions, Talanji, seance, then generate more, then Talanji another time. You can have that pressure combined with Catrina Muerte and Mass Resurrections, throw in a possible wall-package (big hp minions with divine spirit and inner fire), or a control package or a dragon package or whatever you want, I think it’d be a Tier 2 deck at least.
This is why I love Trump's card ratings, he is never afraid to make bold statements about the upcoming meta, both risking to be completly wrong, but also opening himself up to discovering the sleepers of the expansion, where other streamers wouldn't even dare to tread.
I think I am putting Zerek in my Galakron priest deck, the deathrattle summon 2 feels pretty unfair to throw on Zerek, and many of the control cards can help keep the enemy board empty to keep attacking.
I think the heal 8 paladin dragon will see play in otk paladin, you might run one copy of it, it buy you time and allows you to safe time out or board clears
I don't really agree with Grave Rune's rating there is alot of good taunts in Priest that would be a pain if your opponent got 2 additional copies of! I see at more as a draw two spell for a specific minion.
I'm putting a small Galakrond package, Fate Weavers and Grave Rune in my Ressurect OTK Priest deck. Along with Sathrovar. Get just 1 cost reduction onto a Catrina Muerte, Grave Rune, and Sathrovar or Seance aand you'll basically have an infinite wall of Taunts and Catrina Muerte's until you can just otk with Divine Spirit+Inner Fire.
I think he is underestimating the miracle rouge archetype the possibility of drawing 7 cards reduced to 0 (galakrond, togwaggle) plus the coins plus the lackey tempo there has to be a viable burst build somewhere in there.
Trump continues to make the same mistake as always when reviewing early game cards. When he doesn't like the card he usually uses the argument: "You have to drawn this card, you won't always have it in your hand". Trump, every early game card (except quests) you have to draw, all have the same probability of coming into your hand or not, don't use that as an argument to rate a card.
.@@ImMicku Yes, that is the fact. But Trump ignores that when it's a card he gave five stars, as if it didn't matter if you drawn the card or not. But when a card comes that he will give a low rate, he uses this argument of having to drawn the card to justify part of the rating.

Ive wanted control dragon pally to work since the start of the year, but it doesn’t look good does it? Strange that one of only two classes with dragon synergy before DoD will likely come out with the ~2nd worst dragon deck.
I mean control priest could just use Hakkar Wyrmrest Purifier to close out games. Aggro decks will either win fast or lose once they run out of steam, midrange could just be outvalued, other control decks that dont run wyrmrest or some way to get rid of cursed blood eventually succumb while both decks control each other.

So what does priest even do now? So they have a dragon control archetype that is so-so compared to other control decks but it lacks pressure and doesn’t have a win condition except to just out live your opponent... I get that this set has good support in wild but what about standard?
Regarding dragon Druid. I think it’s tier one and to see why just add the word malygos to the deck name. You’re already running malygos, Alex, and big ole whelp for sure, so may as well commit to the dragon synergy.
Honestly I think because apothecary is so good, it's going to drag waxidread with it into good decks.Simply because it has really good stats for it's mana, so isn't a "bad" card by itself, and has one of the better deathrattles that gets stronger the more times you trigger it. Trump is right that whelp is probably the best deathrattle for the card, but you need more than 2, otherwise you have high chances that apothecary ends up missing a target.
Value Rouge may not work but combo rouge seems very viable. Malygos and Togwaggles Scheme for 5 or more. Then on the next turn Galakrond to draw 4 0 mana Malygos. On the same turn you can play Eviscerate and Sinster Strike for 47 damage.
Conut Gnuz I’m glad to find another person who thinks that the Priest Galakrond isn’t bad. A lot of people are writing it off because it doesn’t have a definitive win condition, but I think the overall value generation of this card/deck will surprise most of its critics. Plus, think of the amazing finisher of just playing Princess Talanji and summoning all of the priest minions you added to your hand.
@@connorm9156you know, a one-time strong board state isn't enough cuz most classes have a full/semi-full board clear(pyro+equa/twisting nether/brawl/earthquake/mage just having lots of multi hit) i remember saying once when zillax came out i said 'glynda crow skin(6 mana minions have echo) + mechwarper × 5 + zillax = 9 mana infinity/infinity basically' but the opponent board clears.... now what? same thing with talanji, play it once, seance, take 5-7 turns rebuilding your hand(if you arent dead in the process) which takes time and good cards to drag yourself for an additional 5-7 turns
Yes Paladin has bad control tools unless you cycle for all the combo pieces. But what about a Midrange Dragon Paladin using the new dragons to keep the board forever and beat your opponent down?
Trump himself does not draw those lines between tiers. Sites like HSreplay, tempostorm and metastats make these kind of tier list according to winrate and other factors. For example HSreplay considers anything with a winrate of above 50% tier two and anything with more than one standard deviation above that to be tier 1 (and tier 3 being below 50% winrate). Trump is predicting that the deck that he rates will show up as tier 1/2/3 in at least one of these tier list.
Tier 1 is amongst the best of decks. Tier 2 is not as strong as the few tier one decks, but is otherwise still strong. Tier 3 is not particularly strong but is cohesive enough to be viable. Tier 4 is nearing dank territories and isn’t very good. This is pretty vague but that is the gist.
I think the rating for galakrond rogue is fairly lacking. I think that because Kronk exsists and rogue can easily reuse it's battlecry repeatedly that it can easily be used in a combo deck
Yo just saying, Talanji is insane with control priest, bc it summons all your minions from hand. And you can just put grave rune on like, a taunt and have the enemy suffer.
I think that Rogue Galakrond is higher than a 2 Star unit. Sure, the invoke cards aren't very good. But I think Galakrond Rogue Stage 1 might actually be good enough just to run on it's own if the invoke cards don't turn out to work. Adding a lackey to your hand is good value AND tempo and might just be worth the 7 mana (along with the battlecry of drawing a 0 cost card and the 5 armour gain).
i just don't get how Righteous Cause is 1 star but Sky Claw is 5. Uhm you can proc cause on the same turn you play sky claw, making your turn 3 play a 3 mana 8-8 if skyclaw was your only minion/mech left.
You can't assume a card is good purely based on high rolls. For that to happen, you have to 1) draw and play side quest 2) summon at least 2 minions 3) draw sky claw and play while side quest is still active What happens when you don't draw side quest? What if you draw side quest but not sky claw? What happens when your opponent clears your minions each turn and you get 1 mana for +1/+1? I'm not saying Trump is infallible (he's not), but it's important to consider all aspects of a card.
@@ConlanHale I mean the intent is that it's put in an aggro deck, the same thing you said here can be said about the other 3 mana 8-8 situations we've had in the Past, hand warlock, the most recent mage decks with mountain giant. The same thing can happen if they don't high roll, or they can get it cleared if they run into an instant kill like a priest with Death, but they were all still t1 decks. So whats your point? In an aggro deck, if you don't draw side quest, your aggro deck plays like normal ( plus thats not the only +1/+1 aoe card pallies have. ) If you dont draw sky claw you buff all your other 1 mana and 2 mana cards your deck is filled with and it's still great stats for anything agressive or token. There's tons of token cards that can be run with it on top of sky claw, sky just has decent synergies with other mechs. The chances that after a mulligan if you're running 2 copies of each, that are you don't start with one of these in your hand is actually pretty slim too. like you'll start with one of these 2 cards 4 times out of 5. also what aoe clears are people running before turn 5?
My guess is because it's still not an good 2 drop (lol, priest has wanted it for forever) and that by turn 3 you could guess what deck your opponent ran and got a card almost every time. This 2 drop picks a card from their hand and 2 cards from their deck and you pick the hand card. All three choices exist in their deck. So it's a matter of luck mostly if you're playing it early.
there might be a 'finisher' for control priest: leeroy jenkins + grave rune + holy smite = 18 dmg for 10 mana and 3 cards possibly even more dmg with the hand cost reduce dragon
in fact now that I think about it: If you reduce the cost of your hand by 1 you can do: leeroy jenkins + 2xgrave rune + holy smite = 30 dmg for 10 mana and 4 cards there you have your big finisher =) and its not too much of an investment since its only 4 cards and you would play the hand cost reduce dragon anyways
Paladin dragon/heal control deck will be efficient (i have already tested without the new card and it's work well already, so with all this magnificient synergie, i think players are not ready for the holy purification crusade^^)
Maybe I'm looking at it differently, but the dragon cards for Paladin seem to fit better in a midrange shell than a control package like Trump thinks. He seems to be forgetting cards like Bronze Herald, Dragon Speaker, and Cathedral Gargoyle that the class already has access to that incentivize a much more proactive dragon Paladin deck than a glance at these would imply. Tempo midrange decks get a lot of use out of buffs, and the pally cards really seem to be focused on that direction of deck over a lategame bomb control deck. Not saying it will be good (Shaman looks like it's going to be warping the meta once again), but I think his analysis is flawed.

These are actually more realistic ratings based on the power level of all cards in the set and how they impact current decks. I like it.

Amber Watcher is 5 stars. It is not dependant on the dragon tag or heal synergy. You play it as a 4/6 antique healbot in every single midrange or control paladin.

I think Trump is underrating the Galakrond priest a bit. Imagine all the minions you generate throughout the game, all the possible big things. Your endgame would essentially be Princess Talanji, seance, generate more minions, Talanji, seance, then generate more, then Talanji another time. You can have that pressure combined with Catrina Muerte and Mass Resurrections, throw in a possible wall-package (big hp minions with divine spirit and inner fire), or a control package or a dragon package or whatever you want, I think it’d be a Tier 2 deck at least.

This is why I love Trump's card ratings, he is never afraid to make bold statements about the upcoming meta, both risking to be completly wrong, but also opening himself up to discovering the sleepers of the expansion, where other streamers wouldn't even dare to tread.

I think I am putting Zerek in my Galakron priest deck, the deathrattle summon 2 feels pretty unfair to throw on Zerek, and many of the control cards can help keep the enemy board empty to keep attacking.

I don't really agree with Grave Rune's rating there is alot of good taunts in Priest that would be a pain if your opponent got 2 additional copies of! I see at more as a draw two spell for a specific minion.
I'm putting a small Galakrond package, Fate Weavers and Grave Rune in my Ressurect OTK Priest deck. Along with Sathrovar. Get just 1 cost reduction onto a Catrina Muerte, Grave Rune, and Sathrovar or Seance aand you'll basically have an infinite wall of Taunts and Catrina Muerte's until you can just otk with Divine Spirit+Inner Fire.
I think he is underestimating the miracle rouge archetype the possibility of drawing 7 cards reduced to 0 (galakrond, togwaggle) plus the coins plus the lackey tempo there has to be a viable burst build somewhere in there.

Trump continues to make the same mistake as always when reviewing early game cards. When he doesn't like the card he usually uses the argument: "You have to drawn this card, you won't always have it in your hand". Trump, every early game card (except quests) you have to draw, all have the same probability of coming into your hand or not, don't use that as an argument to rate a card.
the thing is with early game cards, you have to draw them *at the start of the game* as they wont see much use at later stages
.@@ImMicku Yes, that is the fact. But Trump ignores that when it's a card he gave five stars, as if it didn't matter if you drawn the card or not. But when a card comes that he will give a low rate, he uses this argument of having to drawn the card to justify part of the rating.

I mean control priest could just use Hakkar Wyrmrest Purifier to close out games. Aggro decks will either win fast or lose once they run out of steam, midrange could just be outvalued, other control decks that dont run wyrmrest or some way to get rid of cursed blood eventually succumb while both decks control each other.
Or Priests could just pick a better class

So what does priest even do now? So they have a dragon control archetype that is so-so compared to other control decks but it lacks pressure and doesn’t have a win condition except to just out live your opponent... I get that this set has good support in wild but what about standard?
Regarding dragon Druid. I think it’s tier one and to see why just add the word malygos to the deck name. You’re already running malygos, Alex, and big ole whelp for sure, so may as well commit to the dragon synergy.
Honestly I think because apothecary is so good, it's going to drag waxidread with it into good decks.Simply because it has really good stats for it's mana, so isn't a "bad" card by itself, and has one of the better deathrattles that gets stronger the more times you trigger it. Trump is right that whelp is probably the best deathrattle for the card, but you need more than 2, otherwise you have high chances that apothecary ends up missing a target.
Value Rouge may not work but combo rouge seems very viable. Malygos and Togwaggles Scheme for 5 or more. Then on the next turn Galakrond to draw 4 0 mana Malygos. On the same turn you can play Eviscerate and Sinster Strike for 47 damage.
Wow I wonder which decks Trump thinks are in Tier 1. Better find out the next Rating Video.

Conut Gnuz I’m glad to find another person who thinks that the Priest Galakrond isn’t bad. A lot of people are writing it off because it doesn’t have a definitive win condition, but I think the overall value generation of this card/deck will surprise most of its critics. Plus, think of the amazing finisher of just playing Princess Talanji and summoning all of the priest minions you added to your hand.

i remember saying once when zillax came out i said 'glynda crow skin(6 mana minions have echo) + mechwarper × 5 + zillax = 9 mana infinity/infinity basically'
but the opponent board clears.... now what? same thing with talanji, play it once, seance, take 5-7 turns rebuilding your hand(if you arent dead in the process) which takes time and good cards to drag yourself for an additional 5-7 turns

Does anyone know exactly what he means when he says tier 1/2/3? I get that tier 1 is best but how does he draw the lines
Trump himself does not draw those lines between tiers. Sites like HSreplay, tempostorm and metastats make these kind of tier list according to winrate and other factors. For example HSreplay considers anything with a winrate of above 50% tier two and anything with more than one standard deviation above that to be tier 1 (and tier 3 being below 50% winrate). Trump is predicting that the deck that he rates will show up as tier 1/2/3 in at least one of these tier list.
Tier 1 is amongst the best of decks.
Tier 2 is not as strong as the few tier one decks, but is otherwise still strong.
Tier 3 is not particularly strong but is cohesive enough to be viable.
Tier 4 is nearing dank territories and isn’t very good.
This is pretty vague but that is the gist.
otk combo for priest. fate weaver, next turn leeroy, double grave rune, hit face, smite the leeroy, and then gg.
My idea - reduce your hand cost with Fate Weaver, Leroy Jenkins, hit face, Grave Rune it, then Penance for 12 more dmg.
Or if you Fate Weaver twice, that would take 3 mana jenkins, 2 mana Grave Rune x 2 and 0 mana Penance for OTK combo wich deals 30 dmg.
I think the rating for galakrond rogue is fairly lacking. I think that because Kronk exsists and rogue can easily reuse it's battlecry repeatedly that it can easily be used in a combo deck

I think that Rogue Galakrond is higher than a 2 Star unit. Sure, the invoke cards aren't very good. But I think Galakrond Rogue Stage 1 might actually be good enough just to run on it's own if the invoke cards don't turn out to work. Adding a lackey to your hand is good value AND tempo and might just be worth the 7 mana (along with the battlecry of drawing a 0 cost card and the 5 armour gain).

On the plus side, Lightforged cards are gonna stay with us for a while, and those are GREAT cards to build a deck around.

i just don't get how Righteous Cause is 1 star but Sky Claw is 5. Uhm you can proc cause on the same turn you play sky claw, making your turn 3 play a 3 mana 8-8 if skyclaw was your only minion/mech left.
You can't assume a card is good purely based on high rolls. For that to happen, you have to
1) draw and play side quest
2) summon at least 2 minions
3) draw sky claw and play while side quest is still active
What happens when you don't draw side quest? What if you draw side quest but not sky claw? What happens when your opponent clears your minions each turn and you get 1 mana for +1/+1? I'm not saying Trump is infallible (he's not), but it's important to consider all aspects of a card.

@@ConlanHale I mean the intent is that it's put in an aggro deck, the same thing you said here can be said about the other 3 mana 8-8 situations we've had in the Past, hand warlock, the most recent mage decks with mountain giant. The same thing can happen if they don't high roll, or they can get it cleared if they run into an instant kill like a priest with Death, but they were all still t1 decks. So whats your point? In an aggro deck, if you don't draw side quest, your aggro deck plays like normal ( plus thats not the only +1/+1 aoe card pallies have. ) If you dont draw sky claw you buff all your other 1 mana and 2 mana cards your deck is filled with and it's still great stats for anything agressive or token. There's tons of token cards that can be run with it on top of sky claw, sky just has decent synergies with other mechs. The chances that after a mulligan if you're running 2 copies of each, that are you don't start with one of these in your hand is actually pretty slim too. like you'll start with one of these 2 cards 4 times out of 5.
also what aoe clears are people running before turn 5?
If you topdeck any of the quests you just cry. There is a reason the normal quests start in your hand.
why would you ever bet against 2 mana glimmerroot when essentially the same card was played in every priest deck while it was in standard
My guess is because it's still not an good 2 drop (lol, priest has wanted it for forever) and that by turn 3 you could guess what deck your opponent ran and got a card almost every time.
This 2 drop picks a card from their hand and 2 cards from their deck and you pick the hand card. All three choices exist in their deck. So it's a matter of luck mostly if you're playing it early.

possibly even more dmg with the hand cost reduce dragon
in fact now that I think about it: If you reduce the cost of your hand by 1 you can do: leeroy jenkins + 2xgrave rune + holy smite = 30 dmg for 10 mana and 4 cards
there you have your big finisher =) and its not too much of an investment since its only 4 cards and you would play the hand cost reduce dragon anyways

Maybe I'm looking at it differently, but the dragon cards for Paladin seem to fit better in a midrange shell than a control package like Trump thinks. He seems to be forgetting cards like Bronze Herald, Dragon Speaker, and Cathedral Gargoyle that the class already has access to that incentivize a much more proactive dragon Paladin deck than a glance at these would imply. Tempo midrange decks get a lot of use out of buffs, and the pally cards really seem to be focused on that direction of deck over a lategame bomb control deck.
Not saying it will be good (Shaman looks like it's going to be warping the meta once again), but I think his analysis is flawed.
