His early work, Room For Squares kind of boxed him in, and when the uninitiated think of him, they think Your Body is a Wonderland. Those same people have never seen him absolutely SHRED SRV and Jimi Hendrix or even play the Blues. He’s the greatest, most well rounded player of all time IMHO. Though I’m biased.

There is no such thing (pun intended) as gift bro, every succesful musician busted their asses studying and practicing. Some people understand things easier than others, but at the end of the day we all can get to the same place if we really want to.

i would say practice it as fast as you can. I think its a myth that practicing things slow is the way to build speed.
