    The original owner obviously collected rare currency / miss-prints and you probably just traded tens of thousands of dollars worth of currency for its face value. So gutted for you but cool vid and thanks for putting it back into circulation

      I can't believe how many people don't realize that newer machines don't accept certain coins, such as old ones, gold ones and silver ones due to the difference in weight. As far as mis-stamped coins and such, I guarantee they'd be minted and in a coin wrapper or case. There's little to no chance to just find a loose mis-stamped coin these days considering the amount of collectors out there who check every coin they get.

      Just wondering if they threw away any collectibles. I doubt it but you never know. That laminated dollar had either 4, or 5 #8s in a row, which makes it slightly collectible.

    I'm glad that you went to Stanley Avenue during the day. I am a woman who grew up in Bklyn and I avoided Stanley Avenue, except for the hill near there. When I was growing up, I rode a bus from camp and I remember hitting my head on the roof after the bus driver finished driving on Stanley Avenue. Please be careful when traveling in that area, even during the daytime.

      +Mark Hamrick II if you look at the annotations you will see we have none in our area and all the valuable coins come out in the coin return. Coinstar does not recognize old coins or silver coins. So we didn't throw away thousands as we stated in the pop up notes. The only this we lost was the percentage that coinstar takes and that's because we don't have the time to roll thousands of coins.

    15:03 oh damn, that's a cool one! I mean, all of this foreign money is so cool. But that 5 kroner-note is from Sweden (where I live!) and that particular one is the first ever bill of that value (1890-1952). Since that, they design changed twice, before being made into a coin. Now, I'm not an avid collector, but recently I started collecting all of the different designs of notes and coins we've had in Sweden since I was born. But if I were to find foreign coins/notes like these, I'd be so happy! It's not something I'd buy or actively look for, but it was just fun to see in the video! :D

    Ohh I know it's like 1½ year late but in the video at 15:01 (the plastic sealed money), the brown ish one is a swedish 5 ''kronor'' from the bank of sweden, they printed that one between 1890-1952, after that it changed a bit and was stopped being printed in 1998. We went from 5 kronor banknotes to 5 kronor coins instead because it was easier to use than banknotes. Altho the 5kronor coin has been with us for over a 100 years.
    That one I don't think that high of a value but really cool.

At 11:46 I can clearly spot 3 silver dimes for sure all worth a minimum of $1 apiece (melt value). I saw the machine display 8 dollar coins during both batches put through and who knows what else was there. To any extent, I guess I am grateful that the coins are back into circulation and ready for coin hunters like myself to find again. Thanks for sharing the video and happy hunting!

    Just curious how do you guys feel about storage treasures? Here in va they're taking extra space storage back to live auctions. Not sure about Cube smart. None of us can stand the online auctions.

    • @gamerslockerslife4444
      @gamerslockerslife4444  7 років тому +1

      +Corey Woods I have mixed feelings at the moment. They really dropped the ball with the transition to the new website. I personally loved the old website but it needed an update and wish they would have done it the proper way. I do love the online auctions though because it saves me so much time and money not having to drive around for hours. Then get to the live auctions and it be filled with garbage. Storagetreasures did save my biz so i give credit. I was struggling to get units at live auctions because they where either trash or when a decent one finally came people over paid. Even though i do love them I am still concerned with the website. It is still so buggy and it has made me go back to live auctions. They did lose all extra spaces for a month at least i was told. Time will tell. I am giving them a few more months though.

    • @StorageUnitHunter
      @StorageUnitHunter 7 років тому

      +gamerslockerslife yeah i gotcha, I really didn't have a huge issue with it before they updated it as in performance wise and now it's terrible. Only thing I like is the magnifying is a lot closer in. My issue with the online auctions is you can for one get a smell or it, I know people not on the business reading this are like why do you need to smell it, but it makes a big difference because you don't want to buy something that's all moldy, smells like mildew or cat piss. I don't like not knowing who I'm bidding agents I feel like they should have some sort of names instead of numbers. Also you can't see in with a light and look where you want to look plus at least here the pictures always suck they're blurry half the time or sometimes sideways it's just annoying. I agree though it does save time and gas, but you also have that chance of missing out if they come pay before you get there. I knew I heard you talk about that in one of your videos.

      +Corey Woods oh I het the smell thing 100% lol. Like i said in one video I test out places before i feel comfortable bidding high. I like to get a feel for everyone involved at the facility. I wish they had an option to pay online. Yesterday i won 3 units and The managers were not there so I could go until today but overnight everyone paid.

      @StorageUnitHunter 7 років тому

      +gamerslockerslife yeah I know what you mean it's better if you have a good relationship with the managers at the facility's normally for me I can tend to get an extra day or something which comes in handy. And yeah an online pay would be perfect that way you won't miss out on them, I mean at a live auction you pay right after so I don't see why they don't have that online it gets annoying sometimes. I just personally like live better just able to get a better look and everything.

    dont rip on them for using coinstar, almost all banks where they live got rid of coin counting machines, and as for checking for old coins, you have to know what you are looking for. most dont know. and takes time, which by watching videos their time is better spent doing what they do best, making a living. keep videos coming
