The MAX lines are significantly more extensive than what’s shown on the diagram here - including the MAX Orange. The MAX Lines are super underrated. I’d love to see more, rapidly implemented, and then turning some into LRTs as necessary.
Headed North, it’s gotta be HSR all the way to Edmonton. I’d like an express that’s Calgary - Red Deer - Edmonton, and another line that hits a bunch of other towns, too.
@@humanecities that’s what I meant, like Edmonton has their own line to red deer being a regional train to Red Deer or even to Calgary while there’s a separate express HSR train
There is a rail line in the works from the Calgary airport - downtown to Banff with talks of a stop at Cochrane, and extension to Airdrie and eventually Edmonton. There's also a lot of progress towards high speed rail to Edmonton, as well as that fexjet "Hyperloop" which is still too theoretical for me
@@LoneHowler I’m very hopeful for all these projects! We’ve got to make them a priority. (Except the hyperloop 🤣 We have existing tech that works really well and isn’t (literally) a pipe dream…)
Will there ever be any more videos on this channel? I hope so and I hope that the Creator is doing okay. I haven't seen any new content up here in over a year.
I really do like the handy Calgary Transit mobile app...I was able to sync it up with my ApplePay and even though I was simply visiting from the USA, it worked just fine for me. I bought a Day Pass on arrival and since I was staying in a downtown Hotel across from Calgary Tower, I was able to buy an Airport Express fare for Bus#300 in the app and get to YYC in plenty of time for my homebound flight. I activated my ticket in the app, waved my phone in front of the reader and it worked like a charm.
I've never liked how Calgary (and similarly your map) shows the downtown transitway. It depicts it as though it's on two different streets. Offset/Arrow station symbols would've depicted this more clearly.
Calgary shouldn't switch fast to electric buses it will be a night mare , I go slow and keep the diesel buses because electric will have many problems.
Where is he? Has he run out of North American transit maps. Maybe he can do Mexico City. Or other continent metro systems like paris athens london dubai singapore and so on
Why the fascination with Calgary Transit? 🤔 It's not the best in the world. It is not even in the top ten. To get a better picture of Canadian transit system, we should take a look at Vancouver and Toronto transit systems. They are more efficient and better than Calgary Transit. Sorry.
Be nice if they could extend the Blue Line all the way out to YYC. True, you can catch Bus#100 at the airport to McKnight/Westwinds station but more optimal would be like the setup in Seattle, WA or Portland, Oregon....where the light rail runs all the way to the airport.
2:25 I wish Calgary could’ve made commuter rail service permanent as they definitely could’ve have benefited from a Banff-Edmonton commuter train or something like that after VIA Rail stopped serving the Southern Canadian Pacific tracks completely in 1990 and the Calgary-Edmonton corridor tracks in 1985
I Iike your videos and they are very pleasantly minimalist. However, while consistency is nice, I think to make your videos have a positive impact it might be interesting to include more information on motive power/construction/ridership and/or the practical and political difficulties/challenges to building such lines. It would better summarize and contextualize the growth (or lack of) of these metros. I know some of your fans prefer this minimalist format, but something outside of this vacuum could liven things up. I know you did some stuff like this years ago in separate videos, but those were pretty sparse on context and very Canada focused. On a separate note i think it would be nice to include the geographical map more often so to better visualize growth maps rather than just the utilitarian user-friendly metro maps. I say this constructively and as a dedicated subscriber. The VN series is or was your best performing series and your bread & butter. (I also realize you don’t upload like your used to and probs don’t have time for all that but whatevs)
He still hasn't finished the series of North American transit systems! We still havent gotten NYC or Chicago yet so your Moscow subway will have to wait a long time!
They do. His graphic only showed a small portion of each route. The Purple went downtown from day one, with its first stop in downtown proper the library is only half a block from the city hall station. It's a true BRT and is extremely fast with only parts of its route sharing with traffic. The other max lines I haven't had the opportunity to explore yet, but many of them having dedicated transit ways
This is the same map that you see on the Ctrain platforms. They don't show the buses that you can take to the stations. The stations are fairly close together so if you're already downtown, you can just walk to them.
I like the way stations can relocate streets without changing their names, yet stay where they are and be renamed by 3 blocks...

Do wish someday for Calgary to have commuter/regional rail out west to Banff, South to High Level or Lethbridge, and north to Red Deer

Medium-speed rail at 150 km/h would make more sense given the population.

This might be a lot to ask, but could you do a network evolution of Amtrak?
Ah finally another remake of C-Train Network Evolution.
Awesome channel, hope you upload again some time.
Calgary shouldn't switch fast to electric buses it will be a night mare , I go slow and keep the diesel buses because electric will have many problems.
They'll probably only have them on the Max routes at first, I doubt they would be a problematic as you think.
He’s risen like a transit phoenix! Nice to have ya back!
this is better than movies/tv shows these days
For real
Where is he? Has he run out of North American transit maps. Maybe he can do Mexico City. Or other continent metro systems like paris athens london dubai singapore and so on

It's planned pretty sure
@@SyntaxOverflow The city plans to have LRT connect to the airport although the service hasn't been determined. Could extend the green or blue lines
The green line was scrapped sadly
Please come back. I miss your videos
pls dude, never stop making these videos

I've missed this channel
Come back bro

Don't vanish for too long
Can you do Amtrak Commuter Rail Line Evolution please because you did Metrolink, so what about Amtrak? Do it please

OK next video Austin capital rail system and/or remaking the Edmonton light rail, network
Yes it’s here!
The city really needs to allow tickets to go a minimum of 2 hours. Even then, two is hardly enough considering the size of city.
You're back!
I think it would be cool if you did New York city’s subway or commuter rail next work. It’s the the og subway
Finnally a nnewww uuupppload after 3 months!
Now do the Chicago L evolution or the PATH evolution next
You showed an artist's rendering of a C-Train station on Centre Street North, but you didn't show any proposed stations on Centre Street North.
Great video.
Quick question: When the heck are you gonna do Nashville?
Come back
Its still a cattle car service given how overcrowded it is.
were waiting on the chicago l evoulution what month?
Ah, my first Canadian place. Love this video.
Make a video about Moscow subway
He still hasn't finished the series of North American transit systems! We still havent gotten NYC or Chicago yet so your Moscow subway will have to wait a long time!
He won't do United kingdom transit
Maybe once he's finished North America....or perhaps you could do UK?
You should recreate the ETS after their 3rd line opened!
Agreed. Edmonton expanded its system by 1/3 in one day this month... And that line will double again by 2027...
Looks like almost 60k of track for both. Calgary is supposed to have very high ridership numbers per kilometres of track.
Odd that the bus lines don't link up to the train lines
Max orange does it goes from saddletowne to brentwood

The metro population of Calgary as of late 2023 is over 1.6 million.
You must be looking at data from 2017. Calgary's population as of 2024 is nearly 1.7 million.
